Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) is an important adverse drug reaction that can lead to acute liver failure or even death in severe cases. Currently, the diagnosis of DILI still follows the strategy of exclusion. Therefore, a detailed history taking and a thorough and careful exclusion of other potential causes of liver injury is the key to correct diagnosis.

Background: The lack of self-repairability in cartilage and the formation of fibrocartilage pose significant challenges in treating knee osteoarthritis, and there is still no ideal solution. Autologous platelet lysates have been clinically applied to treat kOA and exert satisfactory cartilage-repair efficacy, but the preparation of human PL brings damage to patients and is hardly standardized.
Methods: In this study, porcine PL was developed to replace hPL, and its chondroregenerative and anti-chondrofibrosis effects were explored.

Epigenetics is the study of heritable molecular determinants that are independent of phenotypic features. The epigenetic features include DNA methylation, histone modifications, non‑coding RNAs, and chromatin remodeling. In multicellular organisms, the epigenetic state of a cell is critical in determining its differentiation status and its ability to perform its proper function.

Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-, encoded by gene , is overexpressed in a majority of human lung cancer subtypes, but its role in the tumor progression remains poorly understood. We have analyzed the expression of in lung adenocarcinoma (LA) and squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) datasets. The potential roles of in the pathological development of LA and LSCC were explored through literature-based pathway analysis and pathway enrichment analysis.

Background: Recurrence of high-risk diabetic feet, after wound, healing is a common challenge among diabetic patients. Continuous use of an offloading device significantly prevents recurrence of high-risk diabetic feet, although patient adherence is imperative to ensuring this therapy's clinical efficacy. In this study, we explored clinical outcomes of patients with a high-risk diabetic foot who had been prescribed with custom-molded offloading footwear under different adherence conditions.

To investigate the correlation between gene mutation and knee osteoarthritis (KOA), a whole-exome sequencing (WES) was applied to analyze blood samples of four KOA patients and two normal subjects in a family. Gene mutations were identified by gene-trapping and high-throughput sequencing analysis across the differences between the patients and normal subjects. The interactive gene network analysis on the retrieval of interacting genes (STRING) database and the KOA-related genes expression data sets was performed.

Unlabelled: Bullosis diabeticorum is a rare presentation of cutaneous manifestation most commonly affecting the lower limbs in patients with diabetes. The appearance, often as insidious as its resolution, is characterized by tense blisters on the skin surfaces of the lower limbs and the feet. The cause still remains unclear, but it may relate to microangiopathy and neuropathy.

The aim of our study was to determine the impact of genetic polymorphisms in the caspase (CASP) genes on prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). We genotyped 7 potentially functional polymorphisms in CASP3, CASP7, CASP8, CASP9, CASP10 genes in 362 HCC patients of receiving surgical resection of HCC tumor. The associations of genotype and haplotype with overall survival (OS) and disease free survival (DFS) were analyzed by using the Cox proportional hazards model.

Human embryonic stem (ES) cells have far-reaching applications in the areas of tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, pharmacology and basic scientific research. Although the culture conditions can maintain the human ES cells in an undifferentiated state for a transient period, spontaneous differentiation has also been observed during the routine culturing of ES cells. However, the maintenance of ES cells in the undifferentiated, pluripotent state for extended periods of time will be required in many areas of scientific research.
