Background: A dental hygienist is an indispensable auxiliary staff in stomatology who assists people in achieving an optimum level of oral health. Despite advancements in dental medical services, our country has not yet established the position of dental hygienists. The current imbalance in the allocation of dental human resources has created a significant disparity between the demand for and supply of dental auxiliaries.

Objective: Abnormal mechanical stress is intimately coupled with osteoarthritis (OA). Microtubules play a vital role in the regulation of mechanotransduction and intracellular transport. Objective: Bone resorption mediated by osteoclast differentiation induces the occurrence of bone-related diseases. Macrophages, an origin of osteoclasts, whose M2 type can reduce inflammation-induced bone damage. We aimed to investigate the effect of M2 macrophage-derived exosomes on osteoclast formation and elucidate its underlying mechanism.

Continuous adductor canal block versus continuous femoral nerve block for postoperative pain in patients undergoing knee arthroplasty: An updated meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.

Continuous adductor canal block (CACB) is almost a pure sensory nerve block and can provide effective analgesia without blocking the motor branch of the femoral nerve. Thus, the objective of this study was to systematically evaluate the efficacy of CACB versus continuous femoral nerve block (CFNB) on analgesia and functional activities in patients undergoing knee arthroplasty. PubMed, Embase and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (from inception to 3 October 2023) were searched for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that compared CACB with CFNB in patients undergoing knee arthroplasty.

Background: Chronic insomnia disorder (CID) is usually associated with Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD), which may change brain structure and function. However, the possible brain markers, imaging characteristics, and pathophysiology are unknown.

Nitrous Oxide to Reduce Wound Care-Related Pain in Adults: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

As an essential procedure, wound care comes with acute pain, which is short but high in intensity, causing patients to fear and affecting subsequent treatment. Nitrous oxide (NO) is used to relieve pain related to wound care; however, evidence regarding its application is conflicting. Thus, this systematic review and meta-analysis was performed to evaluate the efficacy of NO in wound care-related pain.

Background: Robot-assisted and endoscopic thyroidectomy are superior to conventional open thyroidectomy in improving cosmetic outcomes and postoperative quality of life. Methods and Results A total of 3267 patients with ischemic stroke were included in the analysis. The primary outcome was a combination of death and major disability at 1 year after ischemic stroke.

Cerebellum and hippocampus abnormalities in patients with insomnia comorbid depression: a study on cerebral blood perfusion and functional connectivity.

Chronic insomnia disorder and major depressive disorder are highly-occurred mental diseases with extensive social harm. The comorbidity of these two diseases is commonly seen in clinical practice, but the mechanism remains unclear. To observe the characteristics of cerebral blood perfusion and functional connectivity in patients, so as to explore the potential pathogenesis and biological imaging markers, thereby improving the understanding of their comorbidity mechanism.

Construction of a competency framework of dental hygienists: A Delphi study.

Aim: To explore the basic and core competencies of dental hygienists, construct a systematic and scientific competency framework for dental hygienists taking into account China's national conditions and provide a theoretical basis for the future training in China and other countries that have not yet established the competencies of dental hygienists.

Background: The establishment of dental hygienists role is essential for the public to improve the dental health level. Currently, more than 50 countries around the world have established the role of dental hygienists and defined the core competencies needed by dental hygienists.

Secondary Hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) is a common complication of end-stage renal disease (ESRD), and parathyroid surgery (PTX) is an effective way to treat patients with severe SHPT. ESRD has multiple associations with cerebrovascular diseases. For example, the incidence of stroke in patients with ESRD is 10 times higher than that in the general population, the risk of death after acute stroke is three times higher, and the risk of hemorrhagic stroke is significantly higher.

To compare the surgical outcome of robotic thyroidectomy through transoral approach and the bilateral breast-axillary approach. Retrospective analysis was made on the clinical data of patients who performed transoral robotic thyroidectomy (TORT group) or bilateral breast-axillary approach (BABA group) in the Department of Thyroid and Breast Surgery, the 960th Hospital of People's Liberation Army from July 2020 to May 2022. Both groups received lobectomy with lymph node dissection of the central region.
