Exploring the preparation of multifunctional hydrogels from a bionic perspective is an appealing strategy. Here, a multifunctional hydrogel dressing inspired by the characteristics of porous extracellular matrix produced during Acomys wound healing is prepared. These dressings are printed by digital light processing printing of hydrogels composed of gelatin methacrylate, hyaluronic acid methacrylate, and pretreated platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to shape out triply periodic minimal surface structures, which are freeze-dried for long-term storage.

Background: Hepatoblastoma (HB) is a highly aggressive paediatric malignancy that exhibits a high presence of cancer stem cells (CSCs), which related to tumour recurrence and chemotherapy resistance. Brain expressed X-linked protein 1 (BEX1) plays a pivotal role in ciliogenesis, axon regeneration and differentiation of neural stem cells. However, the role of BEX1 in metabolic and stemness programs in HB remains unclear.

Abnormal death of neutrophils and the subsequent ineffective clearance of cell fragments result in production of autoantigens that can lead to systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Excessive formation of neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) can trigger the synthesis of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as type I interferons, leading to tissue damage and immune dysfunction in SLE patients. In this study, we found that a decrease in neutrophil counts in the peripheral blood was correlated with clinical parameters in SLE patients.

As emerging tumor components, intratumoral bacteria have been found in many solid tumors. Several studies have demonstrated that different cancer subtypes have distinct microbial compositions, and mechanistic studies have shown that intratumoral bacteria may promote cancer initiation and progression through DNA damage, epigenetic modification, inflammatory responses, modulation of host immunity and activation of oncogenes or oncogenic pathways. Moreover, intratumoral bacteria have been shown to modulate tumor metastasis and chemotherapy response.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide. Enhanced mitochondrial fragmentation (MF) is associated with poor prognosis in HCC patients. However, its molecular mechanism in HCC remains elusive.

Primary liver cancer mainly includes the following four types: hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), cholangiocarcinoma (CCA), hepatoblastoma (HB), and combined hepatocellular carcinoma and cholangiocarcinoma (cHCC-CCA). Recent studies have indicated that there are differences in cancer stem cell (CSC) properties among different types of liver cancer. Liver cancer stem cells (LCSCs), also called liver tumor-initiating cells, have been viewed as drivers of tumor initiation and metastasis.

Excessive mitophagy plays a role in neuronal death in spinal cord injury (SCI), its molecular regulation remains largely unknown. The present study aims to determine the role of NIX, a member of a unique subfamily of death-inducing mitochondrial proteins, in the regulation of mitophagy in SCI. Here we show that NIX is highly upregulated in SCI and hypoxia, and localized to mitochondria.

A series of studies have demonstrated that plays a critical role in the development and progression of several cancers. However, the association between genetic variants in the gene and the clinical outcome of patients with non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has not been investigated. Six functional SNPs in were selected and genotyped using the Sequenom iPLEX genotyping system in a cohort of 484 Chinese NSCLC patients undergoing surgery.

Primary liver cancer (PLC) may be mainly classified as the following four types: hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC), hepatoblastoma (HB), and combined hepatocellular carcinoma and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (cHCC-ICC). The majority of PLC develops in the background of tumor microenvironment, such as inflammatory microenvironments caused by viral hepatitis, alcoholic or nonalcoholic steatohepatitis, carbon tetrachloride (CCl), 3,5-diethoxycarbonyl-1,4-dihydrocollidine (DDC), and necroptosis-associated hepatic cytokine microenvironment caused by necroptosis of hepatocytes. However, the impact of different types of microenvironments on the phenotypes of PLC generated by distinct oncogenes is still unclear.

Isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) mutations occur frequently in lower-grade gliomas, which result in genome-wide epigenetic alterations. The wild-type IDH1 is reported to participate in lipid biosynthesis and amino acid metabolism, but its role in tumorigenesis is still unclear. In this study, the expressions of IDH1 and podoplanin (Pdpn) were determined in IDH-mutated and IDH-wild-type gliomas, and their relationships in glioma were further analyzed.

The development of an objective and rapid method that can be used for the early diagnosis of gastric cancer has important clinical application value. In this study, the fluorescence hyperspectral imaging technique was used to acquire fluorescence spectral images. Deep learning combined with spectral-spatial classification methods based on 120 fresh tissues samples that had a confirmed diagnosis by histopathological examinations was used to automatically identify and extract the "spectral + spatial" features to construct an early diagnosis model of gastric cancer.

This study investigated the feasibility of using fluorescence hyperspectral imaging technology to diagnose of early-stage gastric cancer. Fluorescence spectral images of 76 patients who were pathologically diagnosed as non-atrophic gastritis, premalignant lesions and gastric cancer were collected. Fluorescence spectra at 100-pixel points were randomly extracted after binarization.
