Purpose: The purposes of this study were to determine whether biomechanical properties of mature oocytes could predict usable blastocyst formation better than morphological information or maternal factors, and to demonstrate the safety of the aspiration measurement procedure used to determine the biomechanical properties of oocytes.
Methods: A prospective split cohort study was conducted with patients from two IVF clinics who underwent in vitro fertilization. Each patient's oocytes were randomly divided into a measurement group and a control group.

Background: Here we analyzed mid-term data of thoracic endovascular aneurysm repair (TEVAR) surgery with Castor single-branched stent graft placement for the management of Stanford type B aortic dissection (STBAD) involving the left subclavian artery (LSA).
Methods: Between April 2014 and February 2019, 32 patients with STBAD involving a Castor single-branched stent graft were included. We analyzed their outcomes, including technical success rate (TSR), surgical duration (SD), presence of ischemia, perioperative complications, LSA patency, and survival rate (SR), using computed tomography angiography and clinical evaluation during mid-term follow-up.

Sleep insufficiency is associated with various disorders; the molecular basis is unknown until now. Here, 14 males and 18 females were subjected to short-term (24 h) sleep deprivation, and donated fasting blood samples prior to (day 1) and following (days 2 and 3) short-term sleep deprivation. We used multiple omics techniques to examine changes in volunteers' blood samples that were subjected to integrated, biochemical, transcriptomic, proteomic, and metabolomic analyses.

Objective: Circulating miRNAs are acclaimed biomarkers to predict the occurrence and progression of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). This study is aimed at analyzing the correlation of circulating miR-210 level and obesity-associated T2DM and then investigating the underlying mechanism of circulating miR-210 in T2DM.
Methods: Totally, 137 serum samples from patients with T2DM were collected; meanwhile, the demographic, general, and clinical hematological characteristics, disease history, and dietary patterns were recorded.

Purpose: Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome (MRKHS) is characterized by congenital absence of the uterus, cervix, and the upper part of the vagina in females. Whole-gene deletion and loss-of-function variants in TBX6 have been identified in association with MRKHS. We aimed to expand the spectrum of TBX6 variants in MRKHS and explore the biological effect of the variant alleles.

Overcoming the bacterial infection and promoting angiogenesis are challenge and imperious demands in wound healing and skin regeneration. Hereby, we developed a multifunctional AMP/S1P@PLA/gelatin wound dressing fabricated by electrospinning poly (L-lactic acid) (PLA)/gelatin with antimicrobial polypeptides (AMPs) and sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) in order to inhibit the bacteria growth and induce angiogenesis. In our work, AMP/S1P@PLA/gelatin wound dressing was obtained by two-step method of electrospinning and dopamine adsorption.

Allergen-specific immunotherapy (SIT) is the mainstay in the treatment of allergic diseases; its therapeutic efficacy is to be improved. Bacterial flagellin (FGN) has immune regulatory functions. This study investigates the role of FGN in promoting immunotherapy efficacy through modulating oxidative stress in regulatory B cells (Bregs).

Mitochondrial ribosomal protein (MRPL) genes have been reported to participate in many cellular processes, such as cell proliferation, apoptosis, and cell cycle. Meanwhile, the occurrence rate of breast cancer (BRCA) in China steadily increased. Exploring the prognostic value of MRPL genes in BRCA could provide novel biomarkers for BRCA.

The potential relationship between diabetes and COVID-19 has been evaluated. However, new knowledge is rapidly emerging. In this study, we systematically reviewed the relationship between viral cell surface receptors (ACE2, AXL, CD147, DC-SIGN, L-SIGN and DPP4) and SARS-CoV-2 infection risk, and emphasized the implications of ACE2 on SARS-CoV-2 infection and COVID-19 pathogenesis.

Objective: Renal artery revascularization has been performed to improve blood pressure control and to cure hypertension in patients with renal artery fibromuscular dysplasia (RAFMD). We herein conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of studies assessing outcomes associated with the treatment of hypertensive RAFMD patients via endovascular angioplasty in order to offer an up-to-date overview of the relative costs and benefits of this approach to revascularization in RAFMD patients.
Methods: We systematically searched the PubMed and Embase databases and the Cochrane Central Register for Controlled Trials to identify relevant studies published as of January 15, 2020.

Rationale: Severe hypofibrinogenemia after intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) with recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (rt-PA) is rare and easily overlooked, but hypofibrinogenemia increases the risk of major bleeding. However, it is unclear when hypofibrinogenemia reaches the peak and when hypofibrinogenemia is resolved.
Patient Concerns: Case 1 was of a 66-year-old man who was hospitalized due to sudden onset of vague speech and right hemiplegia for 4 hours.

Background: During medical imaging, cystic radiation encephalopathy and brain metastasis are difficult to differentiate, and hence they are easily misdiagnosed. To our knowledge, a nasopharyngeal carcinoma recurrence after more than seven years with cerebral metastasis that mimicked cystic radiation encephalopathy has not been reported.
Case Presentation: A 52-year-old man was admitted to the hospital owing to weakness of the right limb for one month, which increased in intensity for three days.

Background: Pharmacomechanical thrombolysis (PMT) and catheter-directed thrombolysis (CDT) are frequently employed for treating deep venous thrombosis (DVT). However, there have been relatively few studies comparing PMT outcomes to those associated with CDT. The present study was thus designed to compare short- and mid-term PMT and CDT patient outcomes following the treatment of DVT of the lower extremities.

Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome (MRKHS) is associated with congenital absence of the uterus, cervix, and the upper part of the vagina; it is a sex-limited trait. Disrupted development of the Müllerian ducts (MD)/Wölffian ducts (WD) through multifactorial mechanisms has been proposed to underlie MRKHS. In this study, exome sequencing (ES) was performed on a Chinese discovery cohort (442 affected subjects and 941 female control subjects) and a replication MRKHS cohort (150 affected subjects of mixed ethnicity from North America, South America, and Europe).

Rationale: Myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) antibody (MOG-Ab) disease (MOG-AD) is a type of demyelinating disease of the central nervous system characterized by a high frequency of optic neuritis (ON) attacks. anti-Nmethyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) encephalitis (anti-NMDARe) is an autoimmune disorder characterized by memory deficits, conscious disturbance, and seizures. Cases of simultaneous occurrence of MOG-Ab and anti-NMDARe antibody (anti-NMDARe-Ab) are rarely reported and could be mistaken for overlapping MOG-antibody disease (MOG-AD) and NMDARe.

Background: Intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) for acute brain infarctions caused by aortic dissection (AD) may lead to fatal outcomes; thus, it should be ruled out, especially if hypofibrinogenemia occurs after IVT. Successful management of AD-related acute brain infarction with hypofibrinogenemia after IVT has not been reported previously.
Case Report: An 84-year-old woman developed sudden left limb weakness and aphasia for almost 4 h.
