Background: Posttransplantation diabetes mellitus (PTDM) is a frequent metabolic complication following solid organ transplantation and was proven to be associated with adverse outcome. This study aimed to identify the incidence and risk factors of PTDM under the background of relative-living renal transplantation in China.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study that included 358 recipients who underwent relative-living donor kidney transplantation in the Organ Transplant Institute of 309th Hospital of People's Liberation Army between January 1, 2010, and December 31, 2014.

To evaluate the effects of endothelial cell-targeted soluble Notch ligand hD1R protein on the proliferation of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cells. The expression levels of Notch1, Notch2, Notch3, Notch4, Hes1 in bone marrow CD34(+) cells from 24 cases of untreated AML (AML group) and 9 healthy controls (control group) were determined by real time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) . Recombinant hD1R protein was first induced and purified.

Background: HIV-associated encephalitis (HIVE) is one of the common complications of HIV infection, and the pathogenesis of HIVE remains unclear, while lncRNA might be involved it. In this study, we made re-annotation on the expression profiling from the HIVE study in the public database, identified the lncRNA that might be involved in HIVE, and explored the possible mechanism.
Methods: In the GEO public database, the microarray expression profile (GSE35864) of three regions of brain tissues (white matter, frontal cortex and basal ganglia brain tissues) was chosen, updated annotation was performed to construct the non-cording-RNA (ncRNA) microarray data.

Previous studies have shown that apoptosis of alveolar cells can be regulated by autocrine of angiotensin (ANG)II and its counter regulatory ACE-2/ANG1-7 axis. Our earlier study has shown that endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress in response to seawater aspiration eventually led to apoptosis in lung tissue. In this study, we examined the hypothesis that ER stress-induced apoptosis in seawater aspiration-induced acute lung injury (ALI) might also be regulated by the ANGII/ANG1-7 system.

Data Sources: Electronic databases were searched up to March 2018 for randomized controlled trials comparing the effectiveness of different fluids in critically ill patients. The primary outcome was mortality, and the secondary outcomes were the incident of acute kidney injury (AKI) and risk of receiving renal replacement therapy (RRT).

Nuclear factor κ-light-chain-enhancer of B cells (NF-κB) is one of the most important tumorigenic factors. Although it has been established that NF-κB is overly activated in human glioma cells, the molecular mechanisms that lead to the signal transduction to NF-κB and thereby the induction of resistance to apoptosis remain poorly understood. The present study demonstrated that mRNA and protein levels of E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase 2 (MIB2) were markedly upregulated in glioma cell lines and clinical samples.

Methods: A literature search of the PubMed and Cochrane databases was conducted for articles on symptomatic SISMAD published in English from January 2007 to January 2018. Case series reporting on both treatment modalities and outcomes were included, while those on traumatic or iatrogenic SMA dissection or SMA dissection accompanied by aortic or other visceral artery dissection were excluded.

Phosphodiesterases (PDEs) was found to be involved in a variety of cancer pathologies by modulating the degradation of levels of cAMP/cGMP. However, the prognostic significance and biological effect of PDE4a in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) have not been understood completely. In the present study, PDE4a expression was detected in a cohort of HCC and matched adjacent liver tissues (n = 210) by immunohistochemistry staining and Western immunoblotting assay, And experiments were conducted to determine the effect of PDE4a on metastatic capacity of HCC cells.
