Treatment of migraines with Tianshu capsule: a multi-center, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial.

Background: Tianshu capsule (TSC), a formula of traditional Chinese medicine, has been widely used in clinical practice for prophylactic treatment of headaches in China. However, former clinical trials of TSC were small, and lack of a standard set of diagnostic criteria to enroll patients. The study was conducted to re-evaluate the efficacy and safety of TSC post-marketing in an extending number of migraineurs who have diagnosed migraine with the International Classification of Headache Disorders, 3rd edition (beta version, ICHD-3β).

[Effect of inhibiting perivascular adhesion on intimal hyperplasia of the vein grafts in rabbits].

To investigate the effect of preventing perivascular adhesion with topical application of sodium hyaluronate on intimal hyperplasia of the vein grafts in rabbits. Twenty-four male New Zealand white rabbits, aged 5 months, were randomly divided into 2 groups: Group A and B (=12 rabbits per group). Artery defect model was established by cutting about 1 cm artery from the middle part of the dissociated left common carotid artery.

Total Laparoscopic Hysterectomy in Patients with Large Uteri: Comparison of Uterine Removal by Transvaginal and Uterine Morcellation Approaches.

The aim of this study was to compare the clinical results of total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH) for large uterus with uterus size of 12 gestational weeks (g.w.) or greater through transvaginal or uterine morcellation approaches.

The indication and curative effect of hysteroscopic and laparoscopic myomectomy for type II submucous myomas.

Background: The aim of this study was to assess curative effect of hysteroscopic and laparoscopic myomectomy for type II submucous myomas between 3 and 5 cm in diameter and explore the optimal surgical indications.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed of those who underwent hysteroscopic or laparoscopic myomectomy from January 2008 to January 2013. The patients were divided into three subgroups according to the myomas diameter (namely, 30 mm ≤ myomas diameter <40 mm; 40 mm ≤ myomas diameter <50 mm; and myomas diameter ≥ 50 mm).

Application of laparoscopy in the combined surgical procedures of gynecological and digestive disorders in obese women: a retrospective cohort study.

Background: Laparoscopy surgery has been widely used for many decades and combined laparoscopic procedures have become favorable choices for concomitant pathologies in the abdomen. However, the type of combination procedures and their safety in obese women have not been well elucidated in obese women.

Methods: Here we retrospectively reported 147 obese women underwent combined laparoscopic gynecological surgery and cholecystectomy/appendicectomy in our hospital from January 2003 to December 2011.

[Effects of 5-fluorouracil on tendon adhesion formation after flexor tendon repair].

Objective: To evaluate the effect of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) applied topically on preventing adhesion and promoting functional recovery after tendon repair.

Methods: From August 2003 to June 2007, 48 patients with flexor tendon rupture of the fingers by sharp instrument were treated and randomly divided into two groups. In 5-FU group, 39 fingers of 26 patients included 17 males and 9 females, aged (29.
