A Y-shaped sphenoidal sinus septum: a case report.

Knowledge, Attitude, Practice, and Barriers of Adverse Drug Reaction Reporting Among Healthcare Professionals in Timor-Leste: A Cross-Sectional Survey.

The Timor-Leste Pharmacovigilance (PV) became an associate member of the WHO Programme for International Drug Monitoring in 2019; however, the adverse drug reaction (ADR) reporting rate remains low, with only nine reports per 1342 million inhabitants over 5 years. This study aimed to evaluate the knowledge, attitude, practice, and barriers related to ADRs, pharmacovigilance, and ADR reporting among healthcare professionals (HCPs) in Timor-Leste. A cross-sectional survey with a validated, self-administered questionnaire was conducted among 600 HCPs, including clinical doctors, nurses, and pharmacy employees from one national referral and five referral hospitals.

Ester-Bearing Calix[]phenoxazines: Side Chain Enhanced Recognition and Redox-Responsive Reversible Host-Guest System.

We report an enhanced recognition and redox-responsive reversible host-guest system based on ester-bearing calix[]phenoxazines. The carbonyl groups, oriented toward the cavity, act as the extra binding sites to enhance the binding affinity, which is confirmed by NMR and FTIR experiments and single-crystal structure analysis. Due to the oxidizable nature of calix[]phenoxazine, a redox-controlled reversible response is established.

Background: Computer-assisted learning (CAL) has the potential to enhance learning outcomes and satisfaction. However, there are limited reports in the literature that describe or evaluate the implementation of this method to promote competency-based learning in removable partial denture (RPD) design. Therefore, this study aimed to: (1) compare the effectiveness of different learning methods using a 3D software-aided RPD design program, (2) evaluate the learning outcomes associated with these different methods following active learning, and (3) assess students' satisfaction.

Bisphenol A (BPA), an endocrine-disrupting chemical, is increasingly linked to the pathogenesis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This study investigates the effects of prenatal BPA exposure on neural stem cells (NSCs) from the hippocampi of rat offspring, a brain region critical for neurodevelopment and implicated in ASD. Pregnant rats were administered with BPA or vehicle control once daily via oral gavage from gestational day 1 until parturition.

Detection of Tilapia parvovirus in farm-reared tilapia in India and its isolation using fish cell lines.

Tilapia parvovirus (TiPV) is an emerging viral pathogen and responsible for severe economic loss in tilapia culture production. Lethargic, cutaneous haemorrhages; ocular lesions; discolouration of gill and cloudy eye and exophthalmia are common symptoms of TiPV. The TiPV-suspected tilapia fish were collected from grow-out ponds situated in different parts of Tamil Nadu, India, and screened for TiPV by PCR.

Emerging roles of exosomes in diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutic potential in ovarian cancer: a comprehensive review.

Ovarian cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths in women, and the development of chemoresistance remains a major challenge during and after its treatment. Exosomes, small extracellular vesicles involved in intercellular communication, have emerged as potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets in ovarian cancer. This review summarizes the current literature on differences in exosomal protein/gene expression between chemosensitive and chemoresistant ovarian cancer, and the effects of exosomal modifications on chemotherapeutic response.

The Antimicrobial Resistance - Genomes, Big Data and Emerging Technologies Conference explored key topics including measuring the burden of AMR, global public health pathogen genomics infrastructure and surveillance, translation and implementation of genomics for AMR control, use of techniques such as wastewater surveillance, mathematical and statistical modelling, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to aid understanding of AMR. The association between serum tacrolimus concentrations and BK viruria in kidney transplant recipients.

The objective of this study was to examine the association between serum tacrolimus trough levels and the detection of BK viruria in kidney transplant recipients. We conducted a retrospective study and included kidney transplant recipients who underwent BK viruria screening during 2018-2021. Serum tacrolimus trough levels, urine BK viral load, and potential risk factors were collected.

In this paper, we describe how phage therapy has shown remarkable efficacy in preclinical and clinical studies, demonstrating significant therapeutic benefits through various administration routes. Ongoing trials are evaluating its safety and effectiveness against different pathogens.

Cellulose nanofibers/polyacrylic acid hydrogels integrated with a 3D printed strip: A platform for screening prostate cancer via sarcosine detection.

Cellulose nanofiber/polyacrylic acid (CNF/PAA) hydrogel-based colorimetric sensor was fabricated for non-invasive screening of prostate cancer (PCa) via selective detection of sarcosine. The hydrogel was synthesized by photo-crosslinking of acrylic acid in the presence of CNF which acted as mechanical reinforcement and as color enhancer. The hydrogel exhibited a high aqueous absorption and high mechanical strength.

Ancient schwannoma of the submandibular gland.

However, intraoral and salivary gland schwannomas are less frequent. Ancient schwannomas, characterised by histological degenerative changes, represent a rare variant.
