Combination of Searches for Higgs Boson Pair Production in pp Collisions at sqrt[s]=13 TeV with the ATLAS Detector.

This Letter presents results from a combination of searches for Higgs boson pair production using 126-140  fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data at sqrt[s]=13  TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector. At 95% confidence level (CL), the upper limit on the production rate is 2.9 times the standard model (SM) prediction, with an expected limit of 2.

Studies of the Energy Dependence of Diboson Polarization Fractions and the Radiation-Amplitude-Zero Effect in WZ Production with the ATLAS Detector.

This Letter presents the first study of the energy dependence of diboson polarization fractions in WZ→ℓνℓ^{'}ℓ^{'}(ℓ,ℓ^{'}=e,μ) production. The dataset used corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 140  fb^{-1} of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV recorded by the ATLAS detector. Two fiducial regions with an enhanced presence of events featuring two longitudinally polarized bosons are defined.

Conquering the common bile duct: outcomes in minimally invasive transcystic common bile duct exploration versus ERCP.

Introduction: Given the increasing interest for surgeons to reclaim the common bile duct in managing choledocholithiasis, there is a growing movement to perform common bile duct exploration (CBDE). Advantages of concomitant CBDE with cholecystectomy include fewer anesthetic events and decreased length of stay. As there is a paucity of literature evaluating the use of the robotic platform for CBDE, our study aims to compare intraoperative and post-operative outcomes between robotic-assisted one-stage and two-stage management of choledocholithiasis.

DAXXIFY (daxibotulinumtoxinA-lanm) for intramuscular injection was recently approved for temporary improvement in the appearance of the moderate to severe glabellar lines (GLs) associated with corrugator and/or procerus muscle activity in adult patients. DaxibotulinumtoxinA for Injection (DAXI) includes a purified 150-kDA botulinum toxin Type A (BoNTA) formulated with a novel peptide excipient that is positively charged and helps to bind the neurotoxin to negatively charged neuronal membrane for a longer duration. The effectiveness of DAXI was evaluated in two phase 3 trials, SAKURA 1 and SAKURA 2, using a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled design.

A blended genome and exome sequencing method captures genetic variation in an unbiased, high-quality, and cost-effective manner.

We deployed the Blended Genome Exome (BGE), a DNA library blending approach that generates low pass whole genome (1-4× mean depth) and deep whole exome (30-40× mean depth) data in a single sequencing run. This technology is cost-effective, empowers most genomic discoveries possible with deep whole genome sequencing, and provides an unbiased method to capture the diversity of common SNP variation across the globe. To evaluate this new technology at scale, we applied BGE to sequence >53,000 samples from the Populations Underrepresented in Mental Illness Associations Studies (PUMAS) Project, which included participants across African, African American, and Latin American populations.

Assessment of Sex-Specific Associations between Athletic Identity and Nutrition Habits in Competitive Youth Athletes.

Given the psychological aspects of sports nutrition, understanding one's athletic identity (AI) may improve targeted nutrition education. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to examine nutrition habits and AI among uninjured youth athletes. Athletic Identity Measurement Scale (AIMS) and custom Sports Nutrition Assessment for Consultation (SNAC) scores collected prospectively at local sporting events were retrospectively assessed via Mann-Whitney, Kruskal-Wallis, logistic regression, and ANCOVA tests (95% CI).

Emerging trends and demographic disparities in anal cancer mortality across the United States census regions: An analysis of National Center for Health Statistics mortality data.

Aims: Anal cancer, despite its rarity, is a matter of serious concern in the United States, with an uptrend in recent years and marked racial disparities in mortality rates. The aim of this work was to investigate anal cancer mortality trends and sex race disparities in the United States from 1999 to 2020.

Method: This is a retrospective study using data from the CDC WONDER database (1999-2020).

Purpose: Early-stage endometrial cancer is often treated with hysterectomy followed by adjuvant vaginal cuff brachytherapy (VCB). Financial toxicity from cancer treatment can impact treatment completion. The Short Course Adjuvant Vaginal Cuff Brachytherapy in Early Endometrial Cancer Compared to Standard of Care trial is a multicenter, prospective randomized trial of standard of care (SoC) VCB doses delivered in 3 to 5 fractions per the physician's discretion compared with a 2-fraction course.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to identify which factors, both objective and subjective, from a student pharmacist's background are significantly related to academic performance in the professional PharmD program.

Methods: Texas student pharmacists in their first three professional years during the 2022-2023 academic year were invited to participate in a 41-item survey to gather data on their undergraduate background, work experience, grit, and academic resilience. The survey responses were paired with the student pharmacist's cumulative grade point average (GPA) to assess the relationships between the variables and academic performance using Mann-Whitney U tests, Kruskal-Wallis tests, and Spearman's correlations.

Clinical and radiographic predictors for angiography in pelvic trauma: An analysis of 1703 patients.

Introduction: Patients who present with hemorrhage from pelvic fractures have an increased risk of mortality with prolonged time to intervention. Identifying risk factors associated with hemorrhage can expedite treatment. In this study we explore clinical and radiographic predictors for angiography in trauma patients with pelvic fractures.

Obesity Is Associated With Higher Levels of Circulating Cytokines Involved in the Development of Cardiovascular Disease in People Living With HIV.

Background: Obesity is increasingly described in people living with HIV (PLWH), but its impact on immune activation and inflammation in HIV is still poorly characterized. We aimed to analyze the difference in circulating cytokines involved in pathways associated with comorbidities in PLWH according to the presence or absence of obesity.

Methods: Age- and sex-matched PLWH with and without obesity (body mass index ≥30 kg/m 2 ) from a multicenter, prospective cohort were recruited with a 1:2 ratio.

How An Academic Direct Primary Care Clinic Served Patients from Vulnerable Communities.

Purpose: Direct primary care (DPC) critics are concerned that the periodic fee precludes participation from vulnerable populations. The purpose is to describe the demographics and appointments of a, now closed, academic DPC clinic and determine whether there are differences in vulnerability between census tracts with and without any clinic patients.

Methods: We linked geocoded data from the DPC's electronic health record with the social vulnerability index (SVI).

Reviewing Ethical Guidelines for the Care of Patients with Do-Not-Resuscitate Orders after 30 Years: Rethinking Our Approach at a Time of Transition.

The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) opposes automatic reversal of do-not-resuscitate orders during the perioperative period, instead advocating for a goal-directed approach that aligns decision-making with patients' priorities and clinical circumstances. Implementation of ASA guidelines continues to face significant barriers including time constraints, lack of longitudinal relationships with patients, and difficulty translating goal-focused discussion into concrete clinical plans. These challenges mirror those of advance care planning more generally, suggesting a need for novel frameworks for serious illness communication and patient-centered decision-making.

Cytokine profiles and their roles in development of provoked vulvodynia.

Provoked, localized, vulvodynia (PVD) is the main subtype of vulvodynia. Although the etiology of PVD is still a topic of debate, inflammation caused by cytokines responding to a dysregulated microbiome is one of the leading proposed theories. Therefore, the purpose of our study is to further explore the cytokine profiles in the study group with PVD using multiplex immunoassays based on electrochemiluminescence.

Statistical Combination of ATLAS Run 2 Searches for Charginos and Neutralinos at the LHC.

Statistical combinations of searches for charginos and neutralinos using various decay channels are performed using 139  fb^{-1} of pp collision data at sqrt[s]=13  TeV with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Searches targeting pure-wino chargino pair production, pure-wino chargino-neutralino production, or Higgsino production decaying via standard model W, Z, or h bosons are combined to extend the mass reach to the produced supersymmetric particles by 30-100 GeV. The depth of the sensitivity of the original searches is also improved by the combinations, lowering the 95% C.
