Introduction: This study addresses the gap in research comparing the effectiveness between home and in-office narrowband ultraviolet B (NB-UVB) phototherapy for the treatment of mycosis fungoides (MF). Elderly and disabled patients with this condition disproportionally lack access to home units due to insurance denial.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective review included patients diagnosed with MF or Sezary syndrome who underwent either in-office or home UVB between 2016 and 2023.

Undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma (UPS) and related tumors are the most common type of soft tissue sarcoma. However, this spectrum of tumors has different etiologies with varying rates of metastasis and survival. Two dermal-based neoplasms in this class of pleomorphic sarcomas, atypical fibroxanthoma (AFX) and pleomorphic dermal sarcoma (PDS), are challenging to differentiate at initial biopsy but vary significantly in prognosis.

Objectives: Provider directory inaccuracies have important implications for care navigation and access as well as ongoing regulatory efforts. We assessed the extent to which identified provider directory inaccuracies persisted across 7 specialties (cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, neurology, obstetrics-gynecology, primary care) and 5 carriers in the Pennsylvania Affordable Care Act insurance marketplace.
Study Design: A secret shopper survey recontacted inaccurately listed providers (N = 1802) between 403 and 574 days after they were identified in an earlier secret shopper survey.

Linear psoriasis is a rare clinical presentation of psoriasis characterized by erythematous scaly plaques distributed along Blaschko's lines. We describe an 8-year-old male with a linear Blaschkoid plaque in which biopsy findings and clinical history were consistent with linear psoriasis. The lesion showed only mild improvement with topical steroid therapy but exhibited significant clearance with the biologic agent ixekizumab, an IL-17A inhibitor.

This comprehensive review article gives an up-to-date assessment of the therapeutic landscape for warts and molluscum contagiosum (MC), focusing on advances made in the last 5 years. New treatment choices include VP-102 (Ycanth) for molluscum contagiosum, potentially intralesional Vitamin D3 for warts, and topical cidofovir for both. Immunotherapy is regarded as a potential option, especially in difficult situations.

Despite numerous effective biologics for treating psoriasis, new treatments continue to be investigated due to an unmet need for certain patient populations. This review discusses therapies that were recently Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved for treating psoriasis, including the topical agents tapinarof and roflumilast, deucravacitinib, an oral small molecule that selectively inhibits tyrosine kinase 2, and spesolimab, a monoclonal antibody inhibiting interleukin-36 that became the first FDA-approved treatment for generalized pustular psoriasis flares. Other therapies are in the pipeline, such as orismilast, as well as Mind.

Effective communication in pediatric dermatology is critical for accurate diagnosis and treatment, particularly in sensitive areas such as the anogenital region. Unfortunately, children and their families often use euphemisms or incorrect terms when referring to this area, and many adults lack knowledge of anogenital terminology. Pediatric dermatologists can play a unique role in educating children and their families on correct anatomical language, which enhances body awareness, empowers young patients, improves safety, and contributes to accurate medical assessments and treatment adherence.

Seromas are characterized as an accumulation of serous fluid beneath the skin, commonly occurring as a postoperative complication. Such formations can occur in dermatologic surgeries where the undermining and dissection of soft tissue create an empty cavity for fluid accumulation. When seromas develop, they usually do so at the wound closure site, within approximately a week after repair.

The purpose of this article is to familiarize the reader with the basic genetics and vascular biology behind the array of vascular anomalies they may encounter in their practice. Individuals with vascular malformations are often referred to multidisciplinary clinics composed of diverse specialists all with the same goal: how to provide the best care possible. The team is typically composed of physicians, nurses, social workers, and technical staff from multiple specialties including diagnostic and interventional radiology, dermatology, hematology/oncology, otolaryngology, plastic surgery, and several additional subspecialties.

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC), the most prevalent form of human cancer, is traditionally treated by surgical and alternative destructive or topical chemical means, each with its advantages, challenges, and drawbacks. We describe our experience treating BCCs with a topical concentrate of proteolytic enzymes enriched in bromelain (CPEEB) sourced from pineapple stems. CPEEB has strong proteolytic, antitumor-proapoptotic, and inflammation modulation activities, and is approved for debridement of deep burns and starting phase 3 trials for chronic wounds.

Background: Patients with skin lesions suspicious for skin cancer or atypical melanocytic nevi of uncertain malignant potential often present to dermatologists, who may have variable dermoscopy triage clinical experience.
Objective: To evaluate the clinical utility of a digital dermoscopy image-based artificial intelligence algorithm (DDI-AI device) on the diagnosis and management of skin cancers by dermatologists.
Methods: Thirty-six United States board-certified dermatologists evaluated 50 clinical images and 50 digital dermoscopy images of the same skin lesions (25 malignant and 25 benign), first without and then with knowledge of the DDI-AI device output.

We present a case of a 12-year-old healthy girl who presented with acute onset of dry, hyperpigmented, and raised pruritic rash. The lesions initially presented on her thighs then progressed to the trunk and arms hours after receiving the tetanus-diphtheria-pertussis (Tdap) and meningococcal vaccine. After a poor response to medium potency topical steroids, a biopsy specimen was taken, which led to our diagnosis.

Objectives: Health state utility (HSU) instruments for calculating quality-adjusted life years, such as the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) Quality of Life Utility - Core 10 Dimensions (QLU-C10D), derived from the EORTC QLQ-30 questionnaire, the Patient-Reported Outcome Measurement Information System (PROMIS) preference score (PROPr), and the EuroQoL-5-Dimensions-5-Levels (EQ-5D-5L), yield different HSU values due to different modeling and different underlying descriptive scales. For example the QLU-C10D includes cancer-relevant dimensions such as nausea. This study aimed to investigate how these differences in descriptive scales contribute to differences in HSU scores by comparing scores of cancer patients receiving chemotherapy to those of the general population.

Purpose: Patients with stage II and III cutaneous primary melanoma vary considerably in their risk of melanoma-related death. We explore the ability of methylation profiling to distinguish primary melanoma methylation classes and their associations with clinicopathologic characteristics and survival.
Materials And Methods: InterMEL is a retrospective case-control study that assembled primary cutaneous melanomas from American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) 8th edition stage II and III patients diagnosed between 1998 and 2015 in the United States and Australia.
