The optimal endovascular management of cervical carotid dissection causing tandem occlusion remains uncertain. We investigated the impact of emergent carotid stenting during endovascular treatment (EVT) for acute ischemic stroke (AIS) in patients with tandem occlusion secondary to cervical carotid artery dissection. This was a secondary analysis of patients treated with EVT for AIS due to occlusive carotid artery dissection and tandem occlusion included in the retrospective international Antithrombotic Treatment for Stroke Prevention in Cervical Artery Dissection (STOP-CAD) study.

Authors can express the estimates of effect for health outcomes and indicators in relative terms (relative risks, relative risk reductions, OR or HRs)-measures that are generally consistent across populations-and absolute terms (risk differences)-measures that are more intuitive to clinicians and patients.

However, information on the basic reaction mechanisms is limited, and ground states of heme carbenes involved in the prior computational mechanistic studies are under debate. A comprehensive quantum chemical reaction pathway study was performed for the heme model with a His analogue as the axial ligand and carbene from the widely used precursor ethyl diazoacetate with aniline as the substrate.

This study evaluates the effects of hydroxytyrosol (HT), a component of olive oil, on mammographic breast density reduction. We explored effects of HT on Wnt -catenin and other pathways involved in cancer stem cell renewal, DNA repair, cell proliferation, and differentiation. Twenty-five milligrams per day oral dose of HT was given for 12 months in pre- and postmenopausal women at increased risk of breast cancer.

Male and female mice were assigned control, running, or chronic stress rearing conditions for 1 month (young) or for 15 months (aged), then underwent a behavioral test battery to assess activity, affective behavior, and memory.

Background: Late-life depression (LLD) is often accompanied by cognitive impairment, which may persist despite antidepressant treatment. Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is an efficacious treatment for depression, with potential benefits on cognitive functioning. However, research on cognitive effects is inconclusive, relatively sparse in LLD, and predominantly focused on group-level cognitive changes.

APT imaging of hepatocellular carcinoma signals an effective therapeutic response in advance of tumor shrinkage.

The aim of this study was to assess the utility of weighted amide proton transfer (APT) MRI in three different rodent models of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). APT MRI was evaluated in models of diethylnitrosamine (DEN) induced HCC, N1S1 syngeneic orthotopic xenograft and human HepG2 ectopic xenograft. All models of HCC showed a higher APT signal over the surrounding normal tissues.

Background: The prevalence of labral tears in asymptomatic active adults has been reported, but the prevalence of labral tears and other incidental hip lesions in the asymptomatic active pediatric population remains unclear. The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of hip abnormalities detected on 3T MRI in an active pediatric population with no hip symptoms and to compare with hip abnormalities found in children and adolescents who underwent an MRI for a hip-related condition.

Methods: After IRB approval, pediatric patients self-reporting as athletes and presenting with isolated, acute-onset knee pain requiring knee MRI were prospectively recruited to undergo 3T MRI of their asymptomatic contralateral hip (ASx).

Recent advances in oncology research have highlighted the promising synergy between low-dose radiation therapy (LDRT) and immunotherapies, with growing evidence highlighting the unique benefits of the combination. LDRT has emerged as a potent tool for stimulating the immune system, triggering systemic antitumor effects by remodeling the tumor microenvironment. Bridging Gaps: Enhancing Sleep and Health Disparities in Latino Families with Young Adults with Autism Using a Culturally Adapted Intervention.

The present study examined the effects of a culturally adapted intervention, ¡Iniciando! la Adultez, on sleep and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in Latino young adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their Spanish-speaking parents. The intervention targeted the transition to adulthood, a period associated with increased challenges in sleep and HRQoL, particularly for underserved Latino populations. Participants included 26 young adults and 38 parents who completed assessments at baseline and post-treatment.
