γ-Pyrone compounds: flavonoids and maltol glucoside derivatives from Herniaria glabra L. collected in the Ternopil region of the Ukraine.

The phytochemical investigation of the whole plant extracts of Herniaria glabra L. (Caryophyllaceae) led to the identification and isolation of four known flavonoids, one known and three undescribed maltol derivatives, and benzyl β-gentiobioside. The structures were established by extensive 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic analyses, as well as HRESIMS data.

Optimization of the complex therapy of chronic pancreatitis with metabolic syndrome.

Objective: Inroduction: The most common reasons of chronic pancreatitis are alcohol abuse, biliary tract and liver diseases, stomach and duodenum, hyperlipidemia, which is often associated with metabolic syndrome. The aim: to study the effectiveness of using medicine omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids in standard therapy to the correction of lipids and prooxidant-antioxidant disorders in patients with chronic pancreatitis and metabolic syndrome.

Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: The study included 90 patients with chronic pancreatitis with metabolic syndrome.

Objective: Introduction:The excretory insufficiency of pancreas in patients with primary osteoarthrosis is formed at the comorbid pathologies and as a result of long-term treatment of osteoarthrosis using the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, steroids, chondroprotectors and chondrostimulators etc. The aim: to study the state of the proteolysis system and immune status, the presence and depth of the dysbiosis of colon in patients with primary osteoarthrosis against a violation of their excretory insufficiency of pancreas.

Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: There were 64 outpatients with primary OA (group 1) and 74 patients with primary OA in combination with diseases associated with EIP (group 2).

The aim of the study ‒ to investigate the changes of thyroid function and to reveal the relationship in between intracellular distribution of iodine in the blood with the severity of the course of pneumonia in children. We investigated 70 patients in age 6-14 years with moderate and severe CAP and 35 healthy children. The levels of free thyroxine (fT4), free triiodo-thyronine (fT3) and thyroid stimulating hormone, thyroid gland ultrasound and urinary iodine were estimated.

EFFECT OF TOBACCO SMOKE ON ROS PRODUCTION AND INFLAMMATION IN RATS OF DIFFERENT AGE.

The aim of our study was to investigate the effect of tobacco smoke on the content of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and level of cytokines in blood of rats of different age groups. For the purpose of carrying out the dosage, the beards of the white mongrel male rats were sub-divided into three groups: immature, mature and senile rats. Rat experimental groups were exposed to tobacco smoke daily for 45 days.

Clinical and morphological manifestations of the disease, therapeutic tactics and prognosis are defined. A typical clinical case of Gaucher disease type 1 in two adult patients was analyzed.

Hemodynamic disorders in the testicles cause chronic organ hypoxia with damage of its stroma and seminiferous tubules, which plays a leading role in the pathogenesis of the testicular form of male infertility development. The aim of the work was to establish the features of ultrastructural reorganization of the testicles tissue and its vascular bed under circulatory hypoxia conditions and after restoration of blood flow in the organ. The study was conducted on 84 white adult male rats.

REYE (RAY'S) SYNDROME: A PROBLEM EVERYONE SHOULD REMEMBER.

Reye syndrome is a rare but a very dangerous emergency that children and teenagers suffer. This threatening condition occurs during the treatment of fever in the clinical course of viral diseases with drugs containing acetylsalicylic acid and other salicylates. The high mortality rate from this disease is associated with the development of a rapidly progressing toxic encephalopathy and hepatic insufficiency.

The article covers the management of patients with internal genital endometriosis, in which the polymorphism of the glutathione-S-transferase genes has been diagnosed. The aim of our study was to select the optimal conservative method for treatment of internal genital endometriosis in women of reproductive age by developing complex therapy taking into account the polymorphism of the genes of the detoxification system. 102 patients with combined gynecological pathology were examined.

Hyper- and hypothyroidism are some of the most common endocrinopathies that cause many metabolic disorders including amino acids metabolism. However, a specific molecular mechanism of thyroid hormones influence on sulphur-containing amino acids metabolism has not been established. The aim of our research was to investigate experimentally the influence of thyroid gland functional state on the main enzymatic systems of sulphur-containing amino acids metabolism in liver and kidneys, the content of homocysteine, cysteine and H2S in blood.

THE MECHANISMS OF APOPTOSIS INITIATION IN RATS WITH CHRONIC ENTEROCOLITIS COMBINED WITH STREPTOZOTOCIN-INDUCED DIABETES.

Diabetes mellitus is a multifactorial metabolic disease, characterized by hyperglycemia due to insulin deficiency or insulin resistance. A large number of experimental studies emphasizes the key role of apoptosis in the pathogenesis of diabetes. A deeper understanding of the apoptosis mechanisms, identifying of the predictors that positively or negatively influence on the cell death initiation, the correlation between some indices will improve therapeutic strategies for patients with diabetes and comorbidities, which makes the actuality of this study.

Differential diagnosis of hepatopulmonary syndrome (HPS): Portopulmonary hypertension (PPH) and hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT).

Hepatopulmonary syndrome (HPS) is a severe complication of advanced liver disease associated with an extremely poor prognosis. HPS is diagnosed in 4-47% of patients with cirrhosis and in 15-20% of candidates for liver transplantation. In addition, severe hypoxia is associated with a high risk of complications of liver transplantation (a 30% chance during the first 90 days) and increases the gap between transplantation and improving arterial oxygenation.

Pharmaceutical and personal care products (PPCPs) are the environmental pollutants of growing concern. The aim of this study was to indicate the effects of typical PPCPs on the marsh frog Pelophylax ridibundus. We treated male frogs with waterborne ibuprofen (IBU, 250ng·L), triclosan (TCS, 500ng·L), or estrone (E1, 100ng·L) for 14days.

Shell formation is a tightly regulated biological process that allows molluscs to build their shells even in environments unfavorable for mineral precipitation. Outer mantle edge epithelial cells (OME) and hemocytes were implicated in this process; however, the exact functions of these cell types in biomineralization are not clear.

Unlabelled: Acute rheumatic fever (ARF) may have different clinical manifestations in different countries according to the genetic predisposition, prevalence of rheumatogenic strains, social and economic conditions. The purpose of this study was to determine the clinical characteristics of ARF in Western Ukraine and to improve the detection of the cases. A retrospective analysis of 85 medical clinical cases of in-hospital patients aged from 4 to 17 years old was performed.

In patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) who underwent coronary arteries revascularization, violations of hemodynamics, metabolism and heart rate variability often develop in the postoperative period, therefore, the goal of the study was to establish the features of disturbances and the effectiveness of correction of left ventricular systolic and diastolic dysfunction and heart rate variability in stages of cardiorehabilitation in patients with acute coronary syndrome who underwent coronary arteries revascularization. The experimental group included 40 patients with ACS in the postoperative period who underwent balloon angioplasty and stenting of the coronary arteries (25 patients with ST-segment elevation ACS and 15 patients without ST-segment elevation ACS).
