Article Synopsis
  • DNA methylation at cytosines is a key epigenetic modification that influences cell growth and can lead to diseases like cancer when patterns are disrupted.
  • The study reports a new fluorescence-based method for detecting DNA methylation by targeting a specific sequence in the Sept9 promoter, which is commonly methylated in colorectal cancer.
  • This approach uses silver nanoclusters to provide varying fluorescence based on the methylation state of the DNA, allowing for precise detection even in the presence of similar non-target sequences.

Indeterminate cell histiocytosis is a very rare disorder of histiocytes proliferation. It has both Langerhans and non-Langerhans cell histiocytosis immunophenotypic features. We described a 45-year-old man with a 2 years history of multiple yellow-brown papules and a few red nodules on his trunk and extremities.

Objective : The aim of this study was to assess the amount of interdental bone in posterior areas of the mandible for placing orthodontic mini-implants to provide and control anchorage in orthodontic treatment. Materials and Methods : The amount of interdental bone in areas between the second premolars and first molars, first and second molars on the right and left sides of the mandible were determined in fifty patients by RVG using periapical radiographs. The images were assessed using Cygnus Media Software to determine the mesio-distal width of the interdental bone, starting at the crest of the alveolar bone (2 mm below the CEJ) every one millimeter up to 12 mm from the CEJ.
