A convenient, straightforward, and effective one-step reaction for the synthesis of a three-component compound of biologically relevant novel 2,4-diamino-5-(8-hydroxyquinolin-7-yl)-5H-chromeno[2,3-b] pyridine-3-carbonitrile derivatives was designed and synthesized. The synthesis was developed by the reaction between salicylaldehyde 1, 8-hydroxyquinoline 2, 2-aminopropene-1,1,3-tricarbonitrile 3, and the catalytic amount of triethylamine in ethanol at 78 °C. This methodology has many beneficial features, including the use of inexpensive and non-hazardous starting materials, single-flask reactions, optimized reaction conditions, the termination of intermediate isolation, easy workup, reducing organic waste products, being chromatography-free, and decreasing the reaction time along with quantitative yields with high functional group tolerance.

Abiotic and biotic stresses during seed germination are typically managed with conventional agrochemicals, known to harm the environment and reduce crop yields. Seeking sustainable alternatives, nanotechnology-based agrochemicals leverage unique physical and chemical properties to boost seed health and alleviate stress during germination. Nanoprimers in seed priming treatment are advanced nanoscale materials designed to enhance seed germination, growth, and stress tolerance by delivering bioactive compounds and nutrients directly to seeds.

A series of novel sulfonamide and acetamide derivatives of pyrimidine were synthesized and their antimicrobial activities were assessed. Based on the Microbroth dilution method, the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of the synthesized compounds demonstrated moderate to good levels of antifungal and antibacterial activity. Structure-activity relationship analysis suggested that the presence of electron-withdrawing groups, such as halogens, nitrile, and nitro groups, on the pyrimidine ring contributed to the enhanced antimicrobial potency, while electron-donating substituents led to a decrease in activity.

Phenylselenide based BODIPY probe was successfully synthesized and characterized by NMR spectroscopic techniques (H, C and Se NMR), mass spectrometry and single crystal XRD. Surprisingly, crystal packing diagram of the probe showed formation of 1-D strip through intermolecular F---H interaction. The probe was screened with various Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) and found to be selective for superoxide ion over other ROS via "turn-on" fluorescence response.

A two-step simple and efficient ion-exchange chemical strategy is proposed to obtain nanostructured BiS electrodes of different surface morphologies from the BiO. In the first step, nanoplates of the BiO are obtained on nickel-foam using successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction method at room-temperature (25 °C). In the second phase, as-obtained nanoplates of the BiO are transferred to the BiS using four autoclaves containing different sulfur precursor solutions at 120 °C for 8 h for phase change, structural conversion and surface morphological modification (, walnuts, network-type, nanowires, and nanoflowers).

Objective: Inflammation and oxidative stress are major factors in the development of many disorders. Natural antioxidants present in plants can interrupt, decrease, or reduce the oxidation of components sensitive to oxidative processes by scavenging free radicals and lowering oxidative stress. Most anti-inflammatory agents used in the management of inflammatory disorders diminish oxidative damage.

Objectives: Candida albicans, a polymorphic yeast, is one of the most common, opportunistic fungal pathogens of humans. Among the different morphological forms, opaque form is one of the least-studied ones. This opaque phenotype is essential for mating and is also reported to be involved in colonizing the gastrointestinal tract.

Background: The examination, counting, and classification of white blood cells (WBCs), also known as leukocytes, are essential processes in the diagnosis of many disorders, including leukemia, a kind of blood cancer characterized by the uncontrolled proliferation of carcinogenic leukocytes in the marrow of the bone. Blood smears can be chemically or microscopically studied to better understand hematological diseases and blood disorders. Detecting, identifying, and categorizing the many blood cell types are essential for disease diagnosis and therapy planning.

4-Dimensional Printing (4DP) is the latest concept in the pharmacy and biomedical segment with enormous potential in dosage from personalization and medication designing, which adopts time as the fourth dimension, giving printed structures the flexibility to modify their morphology. It can be defined as the fabrication in morphology with the help of smart/intelligent materials like polymers that permit the final object to alter its properties, shape, or function in response to external stimuli such as heat, light, pH, and moisture. The applications of 4DP in biomedicines and healthcare are explored with a focus on tissue engineering, artificial organs, drug delivery, pharmaceutical and biomedical field, etc.
