Thiamine and pyridoxine are essential B vitamins that serve as enzymatic cofactors in energy metabolism, protein and nucleic acid biosynthesis, and neurotransmitter production. In humans, thiamine transporters SLC19A2 and SLC19A3 primarily regulate cellular uptake of both vitamins. Genetic mutations in these transporters, which cause thiamine and pyridoxine deficiency, have been implicated in severe neurometabolic diseases.

Electronic address:

The power conversion efficiency (PCE) of ternary all-small-molecule organic solar cells (T-ASM-OSCs) differs significantly from that of the polymer systems (2 %), and the role of third component remains unclear. The electron donor of coumarin derivatives with simple structure and strong and broad light absorption has high PCE for T-ASM-OSCs composed of non-fullerene acceptors (Y6 and DBTBT-IC). Here, we calculated the electronic structure and interfacial properties of the binary C1-CN:Y6 and ternary C1-CN:Y6:DBTBT-IC systems using molecular dynamic (MD) simulations and density functional theory (DFT) to explore the role of the third component (DBTBT-IC).

Oxidative stress results from an imbalance between the production of free radicals by oxidants and their removal by antioxidants. Chronic oxidative stress is a key factor in inflammation, characterized by hypoxic microenvironments and elevated levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Psoriasis, a common chronic inflammatory skin disorder, profoundly impacts the physical and psychological well-being of affected individuals.

Part belt oxygen-functionalized pillar[6,10]arenes are synthesized by step cyclization. An oxygen-substituted tetramer and hexamer have been prepared to construct the O3 pillar[6]arene via a hexamer cyclization reaction and the O6 pillar[10]arene through a [4 + 1+4 + 1] cyclization reaction. X-ray crystallographic studies reveal that both macrocycles have a large cavity and indicate that the part belt oxygen-functionalized pillar[6,10]arenes have both similar cyclic structures and certain differences in configuration compared to pillararene.

Resources and land carrying capacity are vital to the survival and development of human society and form the foundation for ensuring food security. However, evaluating land carrying capacity solely based on grain production is overly simplistic. A comprehensive assessment from the perspective of dietary nutrition is needed to more accurately reflect the actual carrying capacity of land.

State Key Laboratory of Reproductive Medicine and Offspring Health, Center for Reproductive Medicine, Institute of Women, Children and Reproductive Health, Shandong University, Jinan, 250012, China.

Purpose: This study aims to explore the impact of a woman's previous cesarean delivery (CD) on pregnancy and neonatal outcomes for subsequent in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (IVF/ICSI) and single frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET), compared with vaginal delivery (VD).

Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study that included a total of 5817 patients who desired to transfer a single vitrified-thawed blastocyst from the same oocyte retrieval cycle as their last live birth between January 2011 and January 2021 at a single reproductive medicine center. Patients with a single previous CD were classified in the CD group, while those with a single VD were assigned to the VD group.

Extreme climate events, particularly droughts, pose significant threats to vegetation, severely impacting ecosystem functionality and resilience. However, the limited temporal resolution of current satellite data hinders accurate monitoring of vegetation's diurnal responses to these events. To address this challenge, we leveraged the advanced satellite ECOSTRESS, combining its high-resolution evapotranspiration (ET) data with a LightGBM model to generate the hourly continuous ECOSTRESS-based ET (HC-ET) for the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River Basin (YRB) from 2015 to 2022.

An accurate assessment of the electrodeposition mechanism is essential for evaluating the electrochemical stability and reversibility of the metal anodes. Multiple strategies aimed at uniform Zn deposition have been extensively reported, yet it is challenging to clarify the Zn crystal growth regularity and activity due to the obscured physicochemical properties of as-deposited Zn. Herein, we present a protocol for elucidating the controlled epitaxial growth process of Zn crystals and quantifying their surface electrochemical activity using scanning electrochemical microscopy.

The carbon emissions of three typical processes (AAO, MSBR, and oxidation ditch) were systematically analyzed from the perspective of the whole wastewater treatment process based on the annual data of eleven urban small and medium-scale WWTPs in the year 2022, and the effects of different influent characteristics (TP, TN, BOD, COD, influent volume, and COD/TN) on the carbon emissions were studied by using the partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) method. The results showed that indirect carbon emissions dominated the total carbon emissions of small and medium-scale WWTPs (69.5%), and carbon emissions from electricity consumption were the largest source (43.
