Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) is a noninvasive brain stimulation technique that allows the modulation of the excitability and plasticity of the human brain. Focalized tDCS setups use specific electrode arrangements to constrain the current flow to circumscribed brain regions. However, the effectiveness of focalized tDCS can be compromised by electrode positioning errors on the scalp, resulting in significant reductions of the current dose reaching the target brain regions for tDCS.

Purpose: Ga-Trivehexin is a PET tracer targeting αvβ6-integrin, a transmembrane receptor that is frequently expressed by pancreatic cancer cells. This study aimed to determine the biokinetics, image contrast, and acquisition parameters for Ga-Trivehexin PET imaging in pancreatic cancers.
Methods: 44 patients with pancreatic cancer underwent Trivehexin PET/CT between June 2021 and November 2022 (EK-242052023).

Existing research on stroke in adults highlights the role of the built environment during recovery. However, this role has been greatly overlooked in the everyday lives of children with stroke. A stroke in childhood brings substantial changes for affected individuals and their families.

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with high surface areas and specialized binding sites garnered attention in the field of gold (Au) adsorption. The adsorption capacity mostly depends on the functional skeletons and porous structures, however, the roles of linkages have not been thoroughly explored. In this study, imidazopyridinium-linked COFs, specifically im-PYTA-PZDH-COF and im-PYTA-BPDH-COF were synthesized, to enhance gold adsorption efficacy.

Background: The shoulder is the joint most often affected by dislocations. It is known that bony defects of the glenoid and/or humerus can lead to recurrent dislocations even after arthroscopic shoulder stabilization. To prevent recurrent instability, it appears reasonable to reduce fresh and larger Hill-Sachs lesions (off-track lesions).

Background And Objective: Clinical practice guidelines for prostate cancer (PCa) are a valuable resource for everyday clinical practice. The clinical practice guidelines and recommendations produced by various societies should demonstrate a considerable level of consistency in terms of quality, regardless of the society that developed these given the common evidence base. However, to date, no study has assessed the quality of PCa clinical practice guidelines.

Background: Lithium is our oldest continuously prescribed medication in psychopharmacology, with its history as an agent for treating mood disorders extending from the 19th century. Although clinicians prescribe it less frequently than in the past, its utility in treating bipolar disorder is unquestionable. Novel potential indications for its use in psychiatry have created excitement about broader roles for lithium in treating and preventing other disorders.

Purpose: In recent years, ultra-high dose rate (UHDR) irradiation has emerged as a promising innovative approach to cancer treatment. Characteristic feature of this regimen, commonly referred to as FLASH effect, demonstrated primarily for electrons, photons, or protons, is the improved normal tissue sparing, whereas the tumor control is similar to the one of the conventional dose-rate (CDR) treatments. The FLASH mechanism is, however, unknown.

Objective: The size of unruptured intracranial aneurysms (UIA) remains the most crucial risk factor for treatment decisions. On the other side, there is a non-negligible portion of small ruptured IA and large stable UIA. This study aimed to identify the patients' characteristics related to IA size in the context of IA rupture status.

Objectives: Despite the advances in genomics, repetitive DNAs (repeats) are still difficult to sequence, assemble, and identify. This is due to their high abundance and diversity, with many repeat families being unique to the organisms in which they were described. In sugar beet, repeats make up a significant portion of the genome (at least 53%), with many repeats being restricted to the beet genera, Beta and Patellifolia.

Meditation is a mental training approach that can improve mental health and well-being in aging. Yet the underlying mechanisms remain unknown. The Medit-Ageing model stipulates that three mechanisms - attentional, constructive, and deconstructive - upregulate positive psycho-affective factors and downregulate negative ones.

Objective: To elucidate how the clinical presentation of Pediatric Inflammatory Multisystem Syndrome temporally associated with Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-related Coronavirus 2 (PIMS-TS) was influenced by the successive variants of concern (VOC) and patient age.
Study Design: A nationwide PIMS-TS registry was established in Germany in May 2020, shortly after the first cases were described in the US and United Kingdom. The registry captured information on patient characteristics, clinical course, laboratory findings, imaging, and outcome.

New therapeutic strategies for metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) have been developed in the past to achieve the best response rates. Most recently, the use of combination therapies has been explored to optimize patient outcomes. Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase inhibitors (PARPi) may help to treat mCRPC more effectively.

Background: Forming an emotional bond towards the infant is an important developmental aspect of the mother-child relationship. Two questionnaires frequently used for the assessment of mother-infant bonding, namely the Maternal Postnatal Attachment Scale (MPAS) and the Postpartum Bonding Questionnaire (PBQ), have shown inconclusive psychometric properties. To ensure comparability of results across studies, it is crucial to examine the replicability of psychometric properties and previously proposed factor structures of measurements when adapted to other languages.

In this work, the chemical equilibrium between enol and keto tautomers occurring in phenol, naphthols and selected 29 hydroxy substituted polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons classified into 4 structural types was investigated. The reaction Gibbs energies were computed using the density functional theory combined with the solvent continuum model. We have demonstrated how the consecutive condensation of benzene rings together with two-dimensional molecular arrangement and the position of the hydroxyl group modifies this equilibrium.

Two-dimensional conjugated metal-organic frameworks (2D c-MOFs) are emerging as promising electrode materials for electrochemical energy storage devices. However, a viable path to realize superior dual-ion storage in 2D c-MOFs has remained elusive. Here, we report the synthesis of Cu(N-OHPTP) 2D c-MOFs (x=0,1,2; OHPTP=octahydroxyphenanthrotriphenylene) with precise aromatic carbon-nitrogen arrangements, based on the π-conjugated OHPTP ligand incorporated with one or two nitrogen atoms.

Blunted first-phase insulin secretion and insulin deficiency are indicators of β cell dysfunction and diabetes manifestation. Therefore, insights into molecular mechanisms that regulate insulin homeostasis might provide entry sites to replenish insulin content and restore β cell function. Here, we identify the insulin inhibitory receptor (inceptor; encoded by the gene IIR/ELAPOR1) as an insulin-binding receptor that regulates insulin stores by lysosomal degradation.

Rationale: The chronic lung disease bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) remains the most common complication of extreme prematurity (<28 weeks of gestation). Umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (UC-MSCs) represent an opportunity for autologous cell-therapy, as UC-MSCs have been shown to improve lung function and structure in experimental BPD. However, characterization and repair capacity of UC-MSCs derived from donors with pregnancy-related complications associated with prematurity remain unexplored.
