A novel structure of exopolysaccharide from the Lactic Acid Bacteria (LAB) Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus ACS5, isolated from home-made Turkish cheese, is described. After lyophilization, the L-EPS-ACS5 was characterized in production and functional activities in vitro, including antioxidant and antidiabetic activities. The physicochemical characterizations of the L-EPS-ACS5 were determined through molecular weight, UV, FTIR, SEM, TGA, HPLC, NMR, methylation, and GC-MS analysis.

The chemical reduction of organic or inorganic water contaminants is very important for both human health and pollution control. However, challenges still persist in preparing catalysts for chemical reduction, and there is a need for the development of inexpensive, easily synthesized, and effective catalyst systems. In this study, we have synthesized a new palladium nanocatalyst supported on the composite hydrogel beads composed of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (Na-CMC) and graphitic carbon nitride (g-CN).

Mononuclear phosphinite Iridium complexes based on ferrocene group have been prepared and characterized by various spectroscopic techniques. The complexes were subjected to cyclic voltammetry studies in order to determine the energies of HOMO and LUMO levels and to estimate their electrochemical and some electronic properties. Organic complex-based memory substrates were immobilized using TiO-modified ITO electrodes, and the memory functions of phosphinite-based organic complexes were verified by chronoamperometry (CA) and open-circuit potential amperometry (OCPA).

In this study, a novel ionic liquid (3-(3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl)-1-butyl-1H-imidazol-3-ium hexafluorophosphate, (IL-2) was synthesized and characterized by FT-IR, NMR (H,C,P) spectroscopy, and TGA. Two microextraction methods, ultrasonic assisted ionic liquid dispersive liquid liquid microextraction (USA-IL-DLLME) and ultrasonic assisted-temperature controlled ionic liquid DLLME, have been developed for preconcentration of Brilliant Blue FCF (E133) from some food products by the sythesized IL-2. For optimization of the both methods, several parameters such as volume of IL-2, pH, temperature, ultrasonication time, extraction time, centrifugation time, and salt effect were investigated.

Recently, the development of heterogeneous nanocatalytic systems using solid supports has been gaining importance due to some advantages such as easy handling, high thermal stability, high efficiency, reusability, and so on. Therefore, the design of catalyst supports for the preparation of stable heterogeneous catalytic systems is of great importance. In this work, Schiff base-modified ZnO particles have been developed (ZnO-Scb) as a novel support.

Increasing nanoplastics (NPs) pollution may lead to unknown environmental risks when considered together with climate change, which has the potential to become an increasingly important environmental issue in the coming decades. In this context, the present study aimed to evaluate the stressor modelling of polystyrene nanoplastic (PS-NPs) combined with temperature increase in zebrafish. For this purpose, changes in gill, liver and muscle tissues of zebrafish exposed to PS-NPs (25 ppm) and/or different temperatures (28, 29 and 30 °C) for 96 h under static conditions were evaluated.

In our study, the antioxidant capacity of carob pods water extract (CPWE) against deltamethrin (DM)-induced oxidative stress, a widely used pesticide around the world, was investigated in vitro and in vivo in a zebrafish model. The in vitro antioxidant capacity of the obtained extract was evaluated with different methods using trolox, BHA and BHT standard antioxidants. For in vivo experiments, 4hpf zebrafish embryos were exposed to 10 ppb and 25 ppb DM for 120 h and the larvae were treated with 1-10 and 100 ppm CPWE for 4 h at 72th hours.

Fluoride exposure through drinking water, foods, cosmetics, and drugs causes genotoxic effects, oxidative damage, and impaired cognitive abilities. In our study, the effects of fluoride on anxiety caused by the circadian clock and circadian clock changes in a zebrafish model were investigated at the molecular level on parents and the next generations. For this purpose, adult zebrafish were exposed to 1.

The increase in temperature due to global warming greatly affects the toxicity produced by pesticides in the aquatic ecosystem. Studies investigating the effects of such environmental stress factors on next generations are important in terms of the sustainability of ecosystems. In this study, the effects of parental synergistic exposure to glyphosate and temperature increase on the next generation were investigated in a zebrafish model.

Global warming further increases the toxic threat of environmental pollutants on organisms. In order to reveal the dimensions of this threat more clearly, it is of great importance that the studies be carried out with temperature differences as close as possible to the temperature values that will represent the global climate projection. In our study, how the toxicity of glyphosate, which is widely used around the world, on zebrafish changes with temperature increases of 0.

A novel heterogeneous catalyst has been developed using chitosan-zeolite supported Pd nanoparticles (PdNPs@CS-Zeo) and used in an efficient synthesis of 5-substituted-1H-tetrazoles from aryl halides with high yields for relatively short reaction times with an easy work-up procedure. In this method, highly effective and reusable PdNPs@CS-Zeo catalyst was used in the reaction of various aryl iodides/bromides with K[Fe(CN)] as a non-toxic cyanide source to catalyze the [2 + 3] cycloaddition of the corresponding aryl nitriles with NaN in the sequential one-pot preparation of 5-substituted-1H-tetrazoles. The synthesized PdNPs@CS-Zeo nanocatalyst was characterized using XRD, FTIR, TEM, HRTEM, XPS, Raman, TG-DTG, ICP-OES, BET, and EDS mapping.

Since the middle of the twentieth century, the use of dyes has become more common in every food group as well as in the pharmaceutical, textile and cosmetic industries. Azo dyes, including carmoisine, are the most important of the dye classes with the widest color range. In this study, the effects of carmoisine exposure on the embryonic development of zebrafish at a wide dose scale, including recommended and overexposure doses (from 4 to 2000 ppm), were investigated in detail.

Global warming and plastic pollution are among the most important environmental problems today. Unfortunately, our world is warming more than expected and biological life, especially in the oceans, has come to the limit of the struggle for survival with the nano-scale plastic pollution that is constantly released from the main material. In this study, the synergic effect of one-degree temperature increase (28, 29, 30 °C) and 100 nm size polystyrene plastic nanoparticles on circadian rhythm, brain damage and metabolomics in zebrafish were investigated in an environment where temperature control with 0.

Ethyl carbamate (EC, urethane), which is used as an anesthetic especially by veterinarians due to its very long duration of action, is also a naturally occurring compound in all fermented foods and beverages. Although the health problem of EC is related to its carcinogenic potential, the scarcity of current studies that can be used in the evaluation of usage limits encouraged us to do this study. In this context, zebrafish embryos were exposed to serial doses of EC.

Implementation of viscoelasticity-based particle migration techniques has attracted significant interest thanks to its simplicity to achieve particle separation and enrichment at high sensitivity and accuracy for the last decade. Many methods have previously been developed for particle focusing and separation, but they all require long fluidic channels to enable the desired elastic force on particles. Here, a cascade contraction-expansion microfluidic system with a much shorter channel length is presented.
