Studies on the effect of urban environments on human risk to health and well-being tend to focus on either physiological or cognitive and emotional effects. For each of these effects, several indicators have been proposed. They are determined either by a physiological-emotional theory or by a cognitive theory of direct attention.

Statement Of Problem: Three-dimensional visualization for pretreatment diagnostics and treatment planning is necessary for surgical and prosthetic rehabilitations. The reliability of a novel 3D facial camera is unclear.
Purpose: The purpose of this clinical study was to evaluate the reliability of a novel medical facial camera system in capturing the 3D geometry of the face in a single exposure.

Statement Of Problem: An evaluation of user satisfaction and image quality of a novel handheld purpose-built mobile camera system for 3-dimensional (3D) facial acquisition is lacking.
Purpose: The purpose of this pilot clinical study was to assess and compare the effectiveness between a handheld mobile camera system designed for facial acquisition and a fixed static camera arrangement by comparing the time effectiveness and the operator and participant preference for the 2 techniques of image capture.
Material And Methods: Completely edentulous participants (n=12: women=7, men=5; mean age: 74.

The fast and reliable characterization of bacterial and fungal pathogens plays an important role in infectious disease control and tracking of outbreak agents. DNA based methods are the gold standard for epidemiological investigations, but they are still comparatively expensive and time-consuming. Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) is a fast, reliable and cost-effective technique now routinely used to identify clinically relevant human pathogens.

The Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) was launched by the World Health Organization and United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund in 1991 following the Innocenti Declaration of 1990, of which New Zealand/Aotearoa was a signatory. After a number of unsuccessful attempts to implement BFHI by breastfeeding advocates, the New Zealand Breastfeeding Authority (NZBA) was established in 1999. Successful BFHI implementation was achieved through a number of factors, including the establishment of a national body (NZBA) with oversight of BFHI facility implementation and auditing, Māori and consumer participation at all levels, the recertification requirements for midwives of breastfeeding education by the Midwifery Council, and maternity facilities having paid BFHI coordinators.

Contaminated soils are a common environmental risk all over the world. One major source of risk is heavy metal soil contamination caused by industrial emissions. This quasiexperimental study investigated the perception of these risks by exposed and nonexposed people, their attitudes toward bioremediation methods using hyperaccumulating plants, and the influence of long-term aspects of sustainability on the acceptance of bioremediation methods.
