Results: The study was conducted in HCV treatment provider clinics in three cities in Georgia: Tbilisi, Batumi, and Telavi. Face-to-face interviews were conducted using a questionnaire developed specifically for this study.

Impact of subjective sleep quality on objective measures of neurocognitive dysfunction in patients with major depressive disorder.

Background: Sleep disturbances are prevalent in major depressive disorder (MDD). MDD and sleep disturbances are both linked to cognitive impairments. Personalized bacteriophage therapy outcomes for 100 consecutive cases: a multicentre, multinational, retrospective observational study.

In contrast to the many reports of successful real-world cases of personalized bacteriophage therapy (BT), randomized controlled trials of non-personalized bacteriophage products have not produced the expected results. Here we present the outcomes of a retrospective observational analysis of the first 100 consecutive cases of personalized BT of difficult-to-treat infections facilitated by a Belgian consortium in 35 hospitals, 29 cities and 12 countries during the period from 1 January 2008 to 30 April 2022. We assessed how often personalized BT produced a positive clinical outcome (general efficacy) and performed a regression analysis to identify functional relationships.

Objectives: EMPOWER-Lung 3 part 2 (NCT03409614), a double-blind, placebo-controlled phase 3 study, assessed cemiplimab (anti-programmed cell death protein 1) plus chemotherapy versus chemotherapy alone in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) without EGFR, ALK, or ROS1 aberrations, regardless of histology or PD-L1 expression levels. We report results from subgroup analysis of patients with PD-L1 expression ≥ 1 %.

Adult Varicella Complicated by Deep Venous Thrombosis and Pulmonary Embolism: A Case Report and a Literature Review.

Varicella-zoster virus (VZV) infection can rarely present with severe vascular pathologies, such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE). These events are seldom documented in the literature as complications of primary VZV infection in adults. We present the case of a 52-year-old Caucasian male patient with chickenpox complicated by DVT and PE, which developed despite thrombectomy and anticoagulation.

Colorectal cancer prevention in Central, Eastern European and South Caucasus countries: a review of policy approaches.

Purpose: This study aims to examine the availability and comprehensiveness of policies pertaining to colorectal cancer (CRC) in Central, Eastern European and South Caucasus countries, as it is a major public health concern in these regions and the second most common cause of cancer deaths among women.

Design/methodology/approach: We performed a scoping review using the Arksey and O'Malley methodology, searching for publicly available policy documents from 18 countries. We described the prevention methods and activities in each country based on the World Health Organization guidelines for CRC screening.
