A superior heterojunction of HC-ZnBi-LDO was synthesized in two steps, namely hydrothermal carbonization, followed by co-precipitation. The 2% HC-ZnBi-LDO heterojunction photocatalysts could degrade over 90.8% of 30 mg/L 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) using 1.

Amino accelerators and antioxidants (AAL/Os) have become a suite of contaminants of emerging concern recently due to the accumulating evidence for their environmental occurrence and associated toxic potential. Nevertheless, data on sedimentary deposition of AAL/Os has remained scarce, particularly for regions beyond the North America. In the present study, we elucidated spatial distribution of fifteen AAL/Os and five AAO transformation products (AAOTPs) in seventy-seven sediments from the Dong Nai River System (DNRS), Vietnam.

Heterojunction structures have attracted considerable attention for enhancing electron migration across interfaces. In this report, ZnBiO-ZnS(12%) heterojunction photocatalysts was found to be capable of degrading over 94% of indigo carmine in a 15 mg/L solution within 90 min of visible light irradiation at a catalytic dose of 1.0 g/L and pH 4.

Article Synopsis
  • Vietnamese ginseng, also known as Ngoc Linh ginseng, is a valuable herb in Vietnam with various health benefits, including immune system enhancement and anti-cancer properties.
  • The study successfully assembled the whole genome of Vietnamese ginseng, revealing it to be approximately 3 billion base pairs long and containing over 79,000 gene models, with many genes linked to triterpenoid biosynthesis identified.
  • Researchers cloned and characterized three genes related to squalene monooxygenase and analyzed gene expression levels involved in terpenoid biosynthesis in different plant parts, contributing important data for future studies on ginsenoside production.

Five new tirucallane saponins, paramignyosides A-E (1-5), were isolated from the water fraction of the Paramignya scandens stem and leaves. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic evidence including high-resolution electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (HR-ESI-MS) and one dimensional (1D)- and 2D-NMR. The effects of isolated compounds on pro-inflammatory cytokines were evaluated by measuring the production of interleukin (IL)-12 p40, IL-6, and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated bone marrow-derived dendritic cells (BMDCs).
