Assessment of Factors Associated with Mandibular Anterior Crowding in Mixed Dentition.

Introduction: Dental crowding can be defined as a disparity in the relationship between the tooth size and arch length, which results in imbrication and rotation of teeth. Crowding of permanent teeth, especially in the anterior part of the mandible, is believed to be the most frequent form of malocclusion in children. The appropriate age for treatment of crowding is the late mixed dentition period.

Assessment of effect of 1% phytic acid and 17% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid on calcium ion loss of radicular dentin: An study.

Aim: The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare the effectiveness of phytic acid and ethylendiamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA) in the removal of calcium ion from radicular dentin during endodontic procedure.

Materials And Methods: Twenty-five single-rooted mandibular premolar teeth were decoronated, and the roots were split longitudinally into two halves. Among obtained specimens, 45 specimens were randomly selected and divided into three groups ( = 15): Group 1 - distilled water, Group 2 - 17% EDTA, and Group 3 - 1% phytic acid.

Dental prosthetic rehabilitation of Papillon-Lefèvre syndrome: a case report.

Papillon-Lefèvre syndrome (PLS) is a rare disorder characterized by palmar plantar hyperkeratosis and rapidly progressive periodontitis with loss of deciduous and permanent dentition at an early age. It is reported to occur in 1 to 4 individuals per million people. This case report presents highlighting features of the rare PLS in a 17-year old male who complained of discomfort while mastication and it was accompanied with symmetrical, sharply demarcated erythematous plaques involving the skin of the palms and soles, which extended to the finger joints, elbows, and knees.

Introduction: The incidence of childhood malignancy is greatest in the 1 year of life, with the second peak to be found at 2-3 years of age. The aim for the study was to investigate the incidence and nature of oral problems occurring in a population of child cancer patients; the other aim was to assess the dental management of the treatment undergoing children.

Materials And Methods: All child patients between 2 and 15 years old were admitted to the medical hospital for the treatment of newly diagnosed oral cancer over a period of 1 year were included in the study.
