Euglycemic diabetic ketoacidosis (EDKA) though rare is a life-threatening complication of sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors. With their increasing use in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) due to long-term beneficial effects, the incidence of this complication is on the rise. We report a case of a 58-year-old lady with a history of T2DM on multiple anti-diabetes medications including dapagliflozin for one year, who during intercurrent illness developed EDKA.

Heterophilic Interference of Rheumatoid Factor in TSH Immunometric Assay: A Cross-Sectional Observational Study.

Introduction: Considering the inherent vulnerability of immunoassays for heterophilic interference and the potential of Rheumatoid Factor (RF) to act as a heterophile-like antibody, we conducted this study to investigate if RF leads to any such heterophilic interference in seropositive rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients. The study was done on the TSH assay as it is a noncompetitive, double antibody sandwich assay, which is known to be vulnerable to heterophilic interference.

Methods: In this cross-sectional observational study, eighty-four consecutive newly diagnosed RF-positive RA patients underwent TSH, Free T4, and anti-TPO estimation using the chemiluminescence technique (CLIA) on Siemens Immulite 1000 platform.

This case is about a 70-year-old man who presented with symptoms and laboratory reports that indicated differentials toward an infectious disease (pneumonia and tuberculosis). A lung mass was found in his chest X-ray and in the computerized tomography (CT) scan of his thorax. Hyponatremia-induced worsening of trigeminal neuralgia- When the sodium plays the game.

A 78-year-old elderly male who was on treatment for trigeminal neuralgia and hypertension was brought to the emergency with altered sensorium. His vital parameters were within normal limits; however, the arterial blood gas analysis showed severe hyponatremia. He was admitted to the ward, where further workup was carried out and hyponatremia correction started.

Evaluation of Different Regimens of Palliative Radiation Therapy for Symptomatic Bone Metastases: An Audit From a Tertiary Care Hospital in Jharkhand, India.

Background This study aimed to assess the efficacy of different radiation therapy regimens in treating patients with symptomatic bone metastases. Methodology A retrospective study was conducted by assigning patients with symptomatic bone metastases from different primary cancers into three groups, namely, Arms A, B, and C. The radiation dose delivered in each arm was as follows: 8 Gray (Gy) in a single fraction for Arm A, 20 Gy in five fractions at the rate of 4 Gy per fraction for Arm B, and 30 Gy in 10 fractions at the rate of 3 Gy per fraction for Arm C.

Unusual Presentation of Reversible Transient Vision Loss After Caesarean Section Under Subarachnoid Block: A Case Report.

A transient vision loss is not commonly encountered during the postoperative period following a caesarean section. Although numerous causes have been suggested for transient vision loss, when loss of vision is associated with seizures and headaches, the differential diagnoses include hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, low platelet syndrome, reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome, posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES), dural venous thrombosis, and central retinal arteriolar occlusion.
