Background: Hematoma expansion (HE) is common in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) and associated with a worse outcome. Imaging makers and shorter time from symptom onset are both associated with HE, but prognostic scores based on these parameters individually have not been satisfactory. We hypothesized that a score including both imaging markers of expansion, and time of onset, would improve prediction.

Methods: A cluster analysis was performed on eight neuropsychological test scores from 124 SCD SILCODE participants and 57 normal control (NC) subjects. Structural and functional neuroimaging indices were used to evaluate the SCD subgroups.

Methods: 6,549 patients with DM who were assessed using the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) and Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) in 2016 were selected from the 2016 Kailuan Group staff physical examinations. Generalized linear regression models were used to analyze the effects of SDS index score on MMSE score in DM patients in different age groups.

Objectives: This study sought to assess whether simplified rapid hydration is noninferior to standard hydration for CA-AKI prevention in patients with CKD.

Real-World Safety and Effectiveness of Omalizumab in Moderate to Severe Allergic Asthma Patients in China: A Post-Authorization Study.

Purpose: Omalizumab was first approved in China in 2017 for the treatment of moderate to severe allergic asthma for adult and adolescent patients aged ≥12 years. In accordance with the Chinese Health Authority requirement, the post-authorization safety study (PASS) was conducted to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of omalizumab in a real-world setting in patients with moderate to severe allergic asthma in China over a 24-week observation period.

Patients And Methods: This is a single-arm, non-interventional, multicenter, PASS conducted in adult, adolescent, and pediatric patients (≥6 years old) with moderate to severe allergic asthma receiving omalizumab in a real-world clinical setting from 2020 to 2021 in 59 sites of mainland China.

Warthin-like mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the parotid gland: Clinicopathological observation and literature review.

Warthin tumor (WT)-like mucoepidermoid carcinoma resembles the histologic pattern of WT and pathologists unaware of this possibility may misdiagnose it as WT with squamous and mucous epithelium metaplasia or WT malignant transfer into mucoepidermoid carcinoma. The present study reported a case of a 41-year-old Chinese female with a solitary mass in the left parotid gland. In this case, microscopic observation revealed prominent lymph node stroma and multiple cystic structures similar to those seen in WT.

Plasma microRNAs as potential biomarkers in diagnosis of acute venous thromboembolism.

Objective: To assess the potential use of plasma microRNAs (miRNAs) in diagnosis of acute venous thromboembolism (VTE).

Methods: Using BGISEQ-500 sequencing technology, we analyzed the miRNA profile of paired plasma samples from the acute and chronic phases of four patients with unprovoked VTE. Using real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR), we verified nine upregulated named miRNAs in the acute phase in the plasma samples of 54 patients with acute VTE and 39 controls.

Integrated oxidative stress score for predicting prognosis in stage III gastric cancer undergoing surgery.

This study aimed to develop a novel scoring system, named the integrated oxidative stress score (IOSS), based on oxidative stress indices to predict the prognosis in stage III gastric cancer. Retrospective analysis of stage III gastric cancer patients who were operated on between January 2014 and December 2016 were enrolled into this research. IOSS is a comprehensive index based on an achievable oxidative stress index, comprising albumin, blood urea nitrogen, and direct bilirubin.

Atrial fibrillation increases the risk of new-onset myocardial infarction amongst working-age population: a propensity-matched study.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the association between atrial fibrillation (AF) and new-onset myocardial infarction (MI) among a working-age population in an industrial city of North China.

Methods: In total 77,670 participants aged under 60 years were selected for this cohort study. Participants were divided into an AF group (n = 121) and a non-AF group (n = 74,565) based on their medical histories.
