Background: Acute pulmonary embolism represents the third most prevalent cardiovascular pathology, following coronary heart disease and hypertension. Its untreated mortality rate is as high as 20-30%, which represents a significant threat to patient survival. In view of the current lack of real-time monitoring techniques for acute pulmonary embolism, this study primarily investigates the potential of the pulsatility electrical impedance tomography (EIT) technique for the detection and real-time monitoring of acute pulmonary embolism through the collection and imaging of the pulsatile signal of pulmonary blood flow.

Glioma is the most common malignant brain tumor. Previous studies have reported that calnexin (CANX) is significantly up-regulated in a variety of malignant tumors, including glioma, but its biological function and mechanism in glioma is still unclear. In this study, differentially expressed proteins in 3 primary glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) tissues and 3 paracancer tissues were identified by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry-based proteomic and bioinformatic analysis.

Objective: Develop a time-dependent deep learning model to accurately predict the prognosis of pediatric glioma patients, which can assist clinicians in making precise treatment decisions and reducing patient risk.
Study Design: The study involved pediatric glioma patients from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Registry (2000-2018) and Tangdu Hospital in China (2010-2018) within specific time frames. For training, we selected two neural network-based algorithms (DeepSurv, neural multi-task logistic regression [N-MTLR]) and one ensemble learning-based algorithm (random survival forest [RSF]).

Introduction: Perceived stress and depression were indirect effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, especially in square-cabin hospitals. It was paramount to understand their mediating effects, which might detonate factors that led to mental illness.
Materials And Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study to investigate perceived stress and depressive symptoms among patients with COVID-19 in Shanghai square-cabin hospitals from April 18 to May 19, 2022.

Current guidelines encourage large studies in a diverse population to establish normal reference ranges for three-dimensional (3D) echocardiography for different ethnic groups. This study was designed to establish the normal values of 3D-left ventricular (LV) and left atrial (LA) volume and function in a nationwide, population-based cohort of healthy Han Chinese adults. A total of 1117 healthy volunteers aged 18-89 years were enrolled from 28 collaborating laboratories in China.

Three-dimensional (3D) echocardiography is an emerging technique for assessing right ventricular (RV) volume and function, but 3D-RV normal values from a large Chinese population are still lacking. The aim of the present study was to establish normal values of 3D-RV volume and function in healthy Chinese volunteers. A total of 1117 Han Chinese volunteers from 28 laboratories in 20 provinces of China were enrolled, and 3D-RV images of 747 volunteers with optimal image quality were ultimately analyzed by a core laboratory.

Numerous studies have elucidated the intricate relationship between bronchial asthma and small cell lung cancer (SCLC), as well as the role lipid metabolism genes play in transitioning from bronchial asthma to SCLC. Despite this, the predictive power of single gene biomarkers remains insufficient and necessitates the development of more accurate prognostic models. In our study, we downloaded and preprocessed scRNA-seq of SCLC from the GEO database GSE164404 and severe asthma scRNA-seq from GSE145013 using the Seurat package.

Background: Musculoskeletal disorders after childbirth are common, but current studies often have a narrow focus, concentrating on particular areas and neglecting a thorough evaluation of pain locations and overall severity. This research aimed to determine the occurrence, spread, severity, and root causes of musculoskeletal discomfort in females during the 6-8 week period after giving birth, focusing on investigating the link between pain and posture.
Methods: This study collected data from 432 postpartum women, 6-8 weeks post-delivery, focusing on ten posture angles captured photographically and analysed using Exbody software.

Chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML) is a clonal hematopoietic stem cell malignancy, and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) is the only curable treatment. The outcomes after transplant are influenced by both disease characteristics and patient comorbidities. To develop a novel prognostic model to predict the post-transplant survival of CMML patients, we identified risk factors by applying univariable and multivariable Cox proportional hazards regression to a derivation cohort.

It has been noted that temozolomide resistance occurs in a number of malignancies, including glioma, although the underlying cause of this is unknown. The goal of the study in vivo investigation to show that increased CD147 expression in glioma cells is a factor in their resistance to the chemotherapy drug temozolomide. Proliferation assays, TUNEL assays, reactive oxygen species assays, protein degradation assays, immunohistochemistry, Western blotting, quantitative polymerase chain reactions, and tumorigenicity assays were all carried out.
