Immune checkpoint inhibitors combined with chemotherapy have shown promising efficacy in treating gastric or gastroesophageal junction (G/GEJ) adenocarcinoma in the neoadjuvant setting. This phase II trial (NCT05715632) aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of perioperative camrelizumab plus XELOX in patients with locally advanced G/GEJ adenocarcinoma. Treatment-naive patients with cT3-4aN1-3 M0 resectable locally advanced G/GEJ adenocarcinoma were recruited to receive camrelizumab (200 mg, intravenously) on Day 1 combined with XELOX (oxaliplatin at 130 mg/m on Day 1 and capecitabine at 1000 mg/m on Days 1-14) every 3 weeks for four cycles, followed by surgery and adjuvant camrelizumab combined with XELOX every 3 weeks for four cycles.

Objective: To determine the efficacy and safety of combined low-dose rituximab with conventional therapy for chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP) treatment.

Methods: Total 73 patients with CIDP were enrolled for the retrospective cohort study, and divided into conventional first-line therapy cohort (n = 40) and combined low-dose rituximab (100 mg per infusion) cohort (n = 33). The outcome measures include scores of I-RODS, mRS, INCAT, ONLS, TSS, and COMPASS 31 scale at baseline and regular four visits (4, 16, 28, and 52 weeks), as well as proportion of favorable response and outcome, corticosteroids dosage, and deterioration occurrence during follow-up.

Aims: This study investigated the roles of lateral basal forebrain glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) signaling and cholinergic neuron activity, apoptosis, and autophagy dysfunction in sleep deprivation-induced increased risk of chronic postsurgical pain (CPSP) in mice.

Methods: Sleep deprivation (6 h per day from -1 to 3 days postoperatively) was administered to mice receiving skin/muscle incision and retraction (SMIR) to determine whether perioperative sleep deprivation induces mechanical and thermal pain hypersensitivity, increases the risk of chronic pain, and causes changes of basal forebrain neurons activity (c-Fos immunostaining), apoptosis (cleaved Caspase-3 expression), autophagy (LC3 and p62 expression) and GDNF expression. Adeno-associated virus (AAV)-GDNF was microinjected into the basal forebrain to see whether increased GDNF expression could reverse sleep deprivation-induced changes in pain duration and cholinergic neuron apoptosis and autophagy.

Ischemic stroke (IS), primarily caused by cerebrovascular occlusion, poses a significant public health challenge with limited effective therapeutic options. Evidence suggests that salvianolic acids (SAs), mainly from Salvia miltiorrhiza Bunge, have been formulated into injections and are widely used in clinical treatments for cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, including stroke. The pharmacological properties of SAs include reducing neuroinflammation, alleviating oxidative stress injury, inhibiting cellular apoptosis, preserving endothelial function, maintaining blood-brain barrier integrity, and promoting angiogenesis.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the ability of global inhomogeneity index (GI) and left-right asymmetry index (AI) based on electrical impedance tomography (EIT) to be used in assessing cerebral perfusion heterogeneity.
