June 2024

Institute of Chemistry, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, Ha Noi, Viet Nam.

Three new dihydrophenanthrenes were isolated from the whole plant of collected in Vietnam. These compounds were identified as 2,3,5-trihydroxy-9,10-dihydrophenanthrene (), 2-methoxy-5-hydroxy-9,10-dihydrophenanthrene 3-O--D-glucopyranoside (), and 2,5-dihydroxy-9,10-dihydrophenanthrene 3-O--D-glucopyranoside (). Their structures were determined by HR-ESI-MS and 1D, 2D NMR spectroscopy.

Hand detection and classification is a very important pre-processing step in building applications based on three-dimensional (3D) hand pose estimation and hand activity recognition. To automatically limit the hand data area on egocentric vision (EV) datasets, especially to see the development and performance of the "You Only Live Once" (YOLO) network over the past seven years, we propose a study comparing the efficiency of hand detection and classification based on the YOLO-family networks. This study is based on the following problems: (1) systematizing all architectures, advantages, and disadvantages of YOLO-family networks from version (v)1 to v7; (2) preparing ground-truth data for pre-trained models and evaluation models of hand detection and classification on EV datasets (FPHAB, HOI4D, RehabHand); (3) fine-tuning the hand detection and classification model based on the YOLO-family networks, hand detection, and classification evaluation on the EV datasets.

Three-dimensional human pose estimation is widely applied in sports, robotics, and healthcare. In the past five years, the number of CNN-based studies for 3D human pose estimation has been numerous and has yielded impressive results. However, studies often focus only on improving the accuracy of the estimation results.

Human Segmentation and Tracking Survey on Masks for MADS Dataset.

Sensors (Basel)

December 2021

Department of Intelligent Computer Systems, Czestochowa University of Technology, 42-218 Czestochowa, Poland.

Human segmentation and tracking often use the outcome of person detection in the video. Thus, the results of segmentation and tracking depend heavily on human detection results in the video. With the advent of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), there are excellent results in this field.

The present article is aimed to investigate the second cumulants, and the thermodynamic quantities are dependent on temperature and pressure in the X-ray absorption fine structure spectrum. The expressions have been build by using the model of the non-harmonic correlation of Einstein and Debye. A simple calculation was used to instead complex problems caused by the interaction of many particles in the system.

In this work, we proposed a facile approach to fabricate a superhydrophobic surface for anti-icing performance in terms of adhesive strength and freezing time. A hierarchical structure was generated on as-received Al plates using a wet etching method and followed with a low energy chemical compound coating. Surfaces after treatment exhibited the great water repellent properties with a high contact angle and extremely low sliding angle.

Nat Prod Res

July 2022

Natural Products Research Laboratory, Institute of Chemistry, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, Cau Giay, Hanoi, Vietnam.

Reinvestigation of a methanol extract of afforded a new 3- hydroxyisoflavanone, 3,5,7,2',4'-pentahydroxyisoflavanone (), two new monoaryl glucosides, 3,4-dimethoxyphenyl 1--(6'--acetyl)--D-glucopyranoside ( and 3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl 1--(6'--acetyl)--D-glucopyranoside (), in addition to three known compounds, 3'--methylorobol (), robusflavone B (), and apigenin (). The structural elucidation of these compounds was achieved by analyses of their spectroscopic data (HR-ESI-MS, 1 D- and 2 D-NMR) and acidic hydrolysis. The extracts and compounds - exhibited weak or no cytotoxic activity against KB, HepG2, Lu and MCF7 cell lines.

The pressure effects on atomic mean-square relative displacement characterizing the extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) Debye-Waller factor of iron metal have been investigated based on the Debye model. The analytical expressions of the Debye frequency and EXAFS Debye-Waller factor have been derived as functions of crystal volume compressibility. Based on the well established equation-of-state including the contributions of the anharmonic and electronic thermal pressures, numerical calculations have been performed for iron up to a pressure of 220 GPa and compared with experimental data when possible.

Nat Prod Res

November 2019

Natural Products Research Laboratory, Institute of Chemistry, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology , Cau Giay , Ha Noi , Vietnam.

Repeated column chromatography of the n-hexane extract of leaves (Moraceae) led to isolation of a new oleanane triterpene, 3-hydroxy-11-oxo-olean-12-enyl-3-stearate () in addition to three known compounds, taraxerol (), 3-acetoxy-11-methoxy-12-ursene () and 3-acetoxy-11-hydroxy-12-ursene (). Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods and by comparison with data reported in the literatures.

This paper evaluated the inhibitory effect of 3-O-[β-d-glucopyranosyl-(1→4)-β-d-glucuronopyranosyl] oleanolic acid 28-O-β-d-glucopyranosyl ester (PFS), a major saponin isolated from Polyscias fruticosa leaves, on α-amylase and α-glucosidase, and its potential for reducing the postprandial blood glucose level in mice. In enzyme inhibition assays, PFS strongly inhibited porcine pancreas α-amylase and yeast α-glucosidase. Using the Lineweaver-Burk equation, we found that PFS inhibited porcine pancreas α-amylase in a mixed noncompetitive mode, and yeast α-glucosidase via noncompetitive inhibition.
