Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is associated with significant morbidity in patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc). Although the introduction of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) into clinical care have represented a major achievement in the management of oesophago-gastric problems in SSc, PPIs are seldom fully effective in SSc patients, and the utilization of maximum PPI dosages is a very frequent clinical practice. However, currently there is little evidence currently to support the empiric use of PPIs in SSc which is especially relevant in regard to safety concerns of long-term exposure with have been raised in the general population.

Introduction: Despite its influence on occupational performance and team dynamics, there has been little research into the personality of dental professionals. Existing research does not typically use the prevailing five-factor model of personality. We aimed to measure the personality of dental professionals in the United Kingdom and investigate differences among groups.

Objectives Circadian dysregulation (jetlag), sleep loss (extended wakefulness), sleep deprivation (acute or chronic), fatigue (exhaustion), preexisting medical and mental conditions, and medication use can all affect the cognitive and behavioral performance of commercial aircraft pilots. This study evaluated the sleep habits of pilots and copilots flying short-haul flights in the Gulf region. Methods This cross-sectional study examined Airbus A320 pilots and copilots for one of Saudi Arabia's commercial airlines.

Thyrotoxicosis due to hyperthyroidism is a serious disorder in childhood often presenting to general paediatricians with a range of clinical manifestations. The commonest cause is Graves' disease, an autoimmune disorder resulting from thyrotropin receptor stimulation by autoantibodies. Early recognition and accurate interpretation of investigations are essential to achieve and maintain a euthyroid state.

Objective: To assess perinatal outcomes for pregnancies affected by suspected or confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection.
Methods: Prospective, web-based registry. Pregnant women were invited to participate if they had suspected or confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection between 1st January 2020 and 31st March 2021 to assess the impact of infection on maternal and perinatal outcomes including miscarriage, stillbirth, fetal growth restriction, pre-term birth and transmission to the infant.

Purpose Of Review: Raynaud's phenomenon (RP) is a common vasospastic condition that results in digital hypoperfusion in response to cold and/or emotional stress and is associated with significant pain and disability. The aim of our review is to provide a practical approach for clinicians to inform assessment and management of patients with RP.
Recent Findings: Autoantibodies and nailfold capillaroscopy are key investigations to stratify the risk of progression to systemic sclerosis (SSc) in patients RP, which was recently confirmed in the multicenter, very early diagnosis of systemic sclerosis (VEDOSS) project.

Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) is used to investigate suspected acute myocarditis, however most supporting data is retrospective and few studies have included parametric mapping. We aimed to investigate the utility of contemporary multiparametric CMR in a large prospective cohort of patients with suspected acute myocarditis, the impact of real-world variations in practice, the relationship between clinical characteristics and CMR findings and factors predicting outcome. 540 consecutive patients we recruited.

Dyshomeostasis of vitamin D-binding protein (VDBP) has been implicated in the pathogenesis of various pregnancy complications, including preeclampsia, preterm birth, gestational diabetes, and adverse metabolic profiles in the offspring. VDBP polymorphisms have been consistently reported to contribute to this intriguing interplay. Until recently, the effects of VDBP polymorphism heterogeneity on maternal and neonatal adipomyokine profiles have not been investigated, specifically after incorporating the different maternal and neonatal 25-hydroxyvitamin D concentration cut-offs at birth.

Background: All diagnostic procedures of peripheral arterial disease (PAD) in diabetic foot (DF) are complicated due to diabetes mellitus and its late complications. The aim of our study is to enhance diagnosis of PAD using a novel transcutaneous oximetry (TcPO2) stimulation test.
Methods: The study comprised patients with mild-to-moderate PAD(WIfI-I 1 or 2) and baseline TcPO2 values of 30-50 mmHg.

The association between central nervous (CNS) stimulants used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and Raynaud's phenomenon (RP) has received little attention to date. Our aim was to map the existing literature on aetiopathogenesis, clinical presentation and management of peripheral vasculopathy, with a focus on RP, secondary to drug therapy for ADHD. We searched the PubMed® database (01/11/1951 to 01/08/2020) and included articles written in English, which focussed on CNS stimulants used to treat ADHD and RP.

Glycogen storage disease type 1a (GSD 1a) is a metabolic disorder caused by deficiency of an enzyme required for glycogen breakdown, causing hypoglycaemia and lactic acidosis. Metabolic derangements cause disease manifestations affecting the kidneys, liver and platelet function. Physiological changes in pregnancy worsen fasting intolerance and increase reliance on exogenous glucose to avoid lactic acidosis.

Autologous cell therapy (ACT) is a new treatment for patients with no-option critical limb ischemia (NO-CLI). We evaluated the factors involved in the nonresponse to ACT in patients with CLI and diabetic foot. Diabetic patients (n = 72) with NO-CLI treated using ACT in our foot clinic over a period of 8 years were divided into responders (n = 57) and nonresponders (n = 15).
