Background: Classic (static) Roentgen stereophotogrammetric analysis (RSA) is the current gold standard to assess, in vivo, the migration of total joint arthroplasty components. To prevent potential patient motion artifacts during the acquisition of paired radiostereometric images, images must be taken by simultaneously firing both X-ray tubes. However, the influence of nonsynchronized RSA paired images or patient motion artifacts on the precision of RSA and the assessment of implant migration is not well understood.

Background: Lung cancer is a common malignant tumor, with, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounting for about 80-85% of cases. This study investigated the expression of miR-137 in NSCLC tissues and cells and its effects on the migration and invasion of NSCLC cells and related mechanisms.

Methods: We collected the neoplastic and paracancerous tissues of NSCLC patients, detected the expression of miR-137 in NSCLC tissues and cell lines by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR), and analyzed the correlation between miR-137 expression and the clinicopathological features and survival of NSCLC.

Introduction: To explore the clinical efficacy of the enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) program in terms of blood management for primary hip arthroplasty patients.

Method: Ninety cases of total hip arthroplasty in our hospital from October 2020 to January 2022 were selected as the research objects, 45 cases as the control group, and 45 cases as the ERAS group. The control group was given routine care after operation, while the ERAS group was given ERAS management.

Background: Neuronal injury induced in young rats by cerebral ischemia reperfusion (CIR) is known to differ substantially from that in adult rats. In the present study, we investigated the specific differences in neuronal injury induced by focal CIR between young and adult rats.

Results: 2, 3, 5-triphenyl tetrazolium chloride (TTC) staining revealed a gradual increase in the infarct volume of both young and adult rats in accordance with I/R times and was significantly lower in young rats than in adult rats under the same conditions.

Objective: To study the feasibility of intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) for stage N nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and its parotid gland (PG) function preservation from physical and dosimetric aspects.

Methods: All the clinical data of 77 patients with pathologically confirmed TNM NPC who received radiotherapy between July 2017 and October 2019 in the Radiotherapy Center of Taizhou Hospital of Zhejiang Province affiliated to Wenzhou Medical University were analyzed retrospectively. Three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3D-CRT) and IMRT were used in 35 and 42 cases, respectively.

Background: Elderly hemodialysis patients have a higher rate of mortality than nonelderly hemodialysis patients. Recent studies shown that the serum uric acid to creatinine ratio (SUA/Scr) was associated with all-cause mortality in general adults. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the association between the SUA/Scr and all-cause and cardiovascular disease mortality among elderly hemodialysis patients.

Objective: There is a lack of longitudinal studies that directly compare the quality of life (QoL) and investigate the impact of clinical factors on QoL across different excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) statuses in Parkinson's disease (PD); therefore, we aimed to compare QoL and reveal the potential heterogeneous predictors of QoL between patients with PD with and without EDS.

Methods: We collected clinical data among 306 patients with PD over 2 years. EDS was assessed by the Epworth Sleepiness Scale and QoL was measured with the 39-item Parkinson's Disease Questionnaire.

We aimed to investigate the effect and mechanisms of action of two drug pairs [Huangqi-Chuanxiong and Sanleng-Ezhu Herb (HCSE)] on the treatment of ischemic stroke. We mined the current literature related to ischemic stroke and formulated a new formulation of Chinese herbs. Then, we identified the main candidate target genes of the new formulation by network pharmacology.

The hippocampal neurogenesis occurs constitutively throughout adulthood in mammalian species, but declines with age. In this study, we overtly found that the neuroblast proliferation and differentiation in the subgranular zone and the maturation into fully functional and integrated neurons in the granule-cell layer in young gerbils following cerebral ischemia/reperfusion was much more than those in old gerbils. The neurological function and cognitive and memory-function rehabilitation in the young gerbils improved faster than those in the old one.

Osteoporotic patients suffer from bone microstructure damage and are prone to fracture and bone defect. Due to the damage of bone healing ability, the bone repair of osteoporotic patients is usually slow. Here we aimed to explore the function and potential molecular mechanism of miR-100 in osteogenic differentiation ability of bone marrow stem cells (BMSCs).
