Psoriasis is an inflammatory dermatosis that features overproliferation and inflammatory reaction of keratinocytes. A study reported that IL-22 is involved in the pathogenesis of psoriasis by mediating miR-124 to regulate the expression of fibroblast growth factor receptor 2 in keratinocytes. A microRNA may target multiple target genes.

MiR-146a-5p-enriched exosomes inhibit M1 macrophage activation and inflammatory response by targeting CD80.

Mol Biol Rep

November 2024

Clinical Research Center, Qingdao Municipal Hospital, 5 Donghaizhong Road, Qingdao, Shandong Province, 266011, China.

Background: Previous studies have demonstrated that miR-146a-5p negatively regulated the intrinsic immune and inflammatory responses, whether the miR-146a-5p-enriched exosomes possess the anti-inflammation effect remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the effect of miR-146a-5p-enriched exosomes on M1 macrophage activation and inflammatory response and the potential molecular mechanism.

Methods: GEO database was used to analyze the expression of miR-146a-5p in serum exosomes of MASH patients.

This study aims to investigate the factors affecting the stone-free rate (SFR) of flexible ureteroscopy and laser lithotripsy (fURSL) for renal stones and establish predictive models by identifying their prognostic factors. We retrospectively examined 252 patients with renal stones who were treated with fURSL between July 2020 and April 2022. We analyzed the relationship between the patient's clinical data (sex, age, and body mass index), stone status (side, size, location, stone/transverse process pixel ratio [STPR], and the CT value of stone [SCTV]), and SFR to determine the relevant factors and analyze their influence.

National Institute on Drug Dependence and Beijing Key Laboratory of Drug Dependence, Peking University, Beijing, China; School of Public Health, Peking University, Beijing, China. Electronic address:

Habitual daytime napping is a common behavioral and lifestyle practice in particular countries and is often considered part of a normal daily routine. However, recent evidence suggests that the health effects of habitual daytime napping are controversial. We systematically searched PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases from inception to March 9, 2024, to synthesize cohort studies of napping and health outcome risk.

Abnormal dermal microvascular endothelial cells in psoriatic excessive angiogenesis.

Microvasc Res

September 2024

Shanxi Key Laboratory of Stem Cell for Immunological Dermatosis, Institute of Dermatology, Taiyuan Central Hospital of Shanxi Medical University, No. 5 Dong San Dao Xiang, Jiefang Road, Taiyuan 030009, Shanxi Province, China. Electronic address:

Psoriasis is characterized by excessive angiogenesis, with increased distortion and dilation of the dermal blood vessels. These vascular alterations are ascribed, at least in part, to the changes in dermal microvascular endothelial cell functions. However, despite the recognition of vascular normalization as an emerging strategy for the treatment of psoriasis, in-depth studies of human dermal microvascular endothelial cells (HDMECs) have been missing.

Molecular mechanisms and drug therapy of metabolism disorders in psoriasis.

J Dermatolog Treat

December 2024

Shanxi Key Laboratory of Stem Cells for Immunological Dermatosis, Institute of Dermatology, Taiyuan Central Hospital of Shanxi Medical University, Taiyuan, China.

Psoriasis is a prevalent skin disease affecting approximately 1%-3% of the population and imposes significant medical, social and economic burdens. Psoriasis involves multiple organs and is often complicated with obesity, diabetes, dyslipidemia, and hypertension. Because of the benefits of lipid-lowering agents and antidiabetic medications for psoriasis, metabolic abnormalities possibly play a pathogenic role in psoriasis.

The structure and function of multifunctional protein ErbB3 binding protein 1 (Ebp1) and its role in diseases.

Cell Biol Int

August 2024

ShanXi Key Laboratory of Stem Cells for Immunological Dermatosis, State Key Breeding Laboratory of Stem Cells for Immunological Dermatosis, Institute of Dermatology, Taiyuan Central Hospital of Shanxi Medical University, Taiyuan, China.

ErbB3-binding protein 1(Ebp1) has two isoforms, p42 Ebp1 and p48 Ebp1, both of which can regulate cell growth and differentiation. But these isoforms often have opposite effects, including contradictory roles in regulation of cell growth in different tissues and cells. P48 Ebp1 belongs to the full-length sequence, while conformational changes in the crystal structure of p42 Ebp1 reveals a lack of an α helix at the amino terminus.

The link between autophagy and psoriasis.

Acta Histochem

May 2024

Shanxi Key Laboratory of Stem Cell for Immunological Dermatosis, Institute of Dermatology, Taiyuan Central Hospital of Shanxi Medical University, Taiyuan, Shanxi, China. Electronic address:

Autophagy is a lysosome-dependent, self-renewal mechanism that degrades and recycles cellular components in eukaryotic cells to maintain the homeostasis of the intracellular environment. Psoriasis is featured by increased inflammatory response, epidermal hyperproliferation and abnormal differentiation, infiltration of immune cells and increased expression levels of both endothelial adhesion molecules and angiogenic mediators. Evidence indicates that autophagy has important roles in many different types of cells, such as lymphocytes, keratinocytes, monocytes and mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs).

Chin Med J (Engl)

October 2024

Department of Cardiology, Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University, Shanghai 200032, China.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study investigated a new selective intracoronary hypothermia (SICH) device aimed at reducing heart damage caused by reperfusion injury after a myocardial infarction, demonstrating its feasibility, safety, and efficacy.
  • - In a controlled experiment with pigs, the SICH method led to notable reductions in inflammatory markers and improved heart function, evidenced by smaller infarct sizes and better ejection fractions after the treatment compared to the control group.
  • - Throughout the study, the SICH device was well-tolerated, showing no adverse effects on blood pressure or heart rate, and it effectively mitigated heart damage by addressing post-MI inflammatory responses and microvascular issues.
