The study aimed to demonstrate the clinical application value of diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) in assessing a clinical curative effect of early ankylosing spondylitis (AS).Forty-eight patients with early AS who were already treated combinations by traditional Chinese and Western medicine were involved in this study. All subjects underwent the conventional MRI, DWI, and DCE-MRI scanning of bilateral sacroiliac joints before and after treatment.

BACKGROUND In glaucoma, the cup to plate ratio enlargement is a recognized pathological phenomenon. At present, the research on optic nerve in China and abroad mainly focuses on 2-dimensional research, and the measurement of 3-dimensional volume data is less well studied. Therefore, the recognition of 3-dimensional morphological changes is conducive to timely clinical intervention to prevent or slow down progressive vision loss.

Correlations and stratification analysis between premature ejaculation and psychological disorders.

We studied the associations and correlations between premature ejaculation (PE) and psychological disorders, such as anxiety and depression, in new perspectives with an aim of improving PE patients' treatment outcomes. Between December 2017 and December 2018, we selected 1,010 men aged over 18 years old. Self-estimated IELT, the premature ejaculation diagnostic tool, the International Index of Erectile Function-5, the General Anxiety Disorder-7 and the Patients Health Questionnaire-9 were used to measure latency time, premature ejaculation, erectile dysfunction, anxiety and depression respectively.

Efficacy and safety of intrathecal meropenem and vancomycin in the treatment of postoperative intracranial infection in patients with severe traumatic brain injury.

This study investigated the improvement and safety of intrathecal meropenem and vancomycin in the treatment of postoperative intracranial infection in patients with severe traumatic brain injury (STBI). A retrospective analysis was performed on 86 patients with intracranial infections after cranial trauma operation in Tai'an Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital and Affiliated Hospital of Taishan Medical University from May 2004 to June 2017. The patients were divided into the control group (43 patients) and the experimental group (43 patients) according to the treatment.

A comparison of the efficacy and safety of complementary and alternative therapies for the primary dysmenorrhea: A network meta-analysis protocol.

Background: There are a number of complementary and alternative therapies for the primary dysmenorrhea (PD) and their efficacy has been assessed by several systematic reviews. But only pair-wised drugs have been evaluated in the traditional meta-analyses and conflicting interpretation of results also existed among different studies. Here, a protocol for a network meta-analysis will be presented aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of different complementary and alternative therapies for PD.

Safety and efficacy of herbal medicine for acute intracerebral hemorrhage (CRRICH): a multicentre randomised controlled trial.

Objective: To evaluate the safety and efficacy of removing blood stasis (RBS) herbal medicine for the treatment of acute intracerebral haemorrhage (AICH) within a 6-hour time window.

Study Design: A randomised, multicentre, double-blind, placebo-controlled study performed in 14 hospitals in China.

Participants And Interventions: Patients with AICH were randomly assigned to receive a placebo, the ICH-1 (Intracerebral Haemorrhage) formula (eight herbs, including the RBS herbs and ) or the ICH-2 formula (six herbs without the RBS herbs and ) within 6 hours of ICH onset.

BACKGROUND This study aimed to compare the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings of primary diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) of the central nervous system (CNS) with delayed contrast enhancement and histological microvessel density (MVD). T1-weighted and T2-weighted contrast-enhanced and non-enhanced brain imaging were used. CNS lymphoma tissue was evaluated using primary antibodies to endothelial cells and smooth muscle cells, and histochemical staining for reticulin fibers and basement membrane, which allowed quantification of the MVD.

Long noncoding RNAs: Novel regulators of virus-host interactions.

Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) represent a key class of cellular regulators, involved in the modulation and control of multiple biological processes. Distinct classes of lncRNAs are now known to be induced by host cytokines following viral infections. Current evidence demonstrates that lncRNAs play essential roles at the host-pathogen interface regulating viral infections by either innate immune responses at various levels including activation of pathogen recognition receptors or by epigenetic, transcriptional, and posttranscriptional effects.

An evaluation of mixed plant protein in the diet of Yellow River carp (Cyprinus carpio): growth, body composition, biochemical parameters, and growth hormone/insulin-like growth factor 1.

The aim of this work is to evaluate the effects of dietary inclusion of mixed plant protein (MP) (rapeseed meal:cottonseed meal:peanut meal = 1:1:1) on growth, body composition, blood biochemical parameters, growth hormone/insulin-like growth factor 1, and relative non-specific immune response in Yellow River carp Cyprinus carpio. Five isonitrogenous and isoenergetic trial diets were formulated to replace fish meal at 0 (MP0, control), 25% (MP25), 50% (MP50), 75% (MP75), and 100% (MP100) mixed plant protein, respectively. The 25% mixed plant protein did not affect the weight gain, specific growth rate, and protein efficiency ratio, whereas these parameters were depressed by 50% and above mixed plant protein.

Clinical efficacy of collateral circulation in the evaluation of endovascular treatment for acute internal carotid artery occlusion.

Objectives: Despite successful recanalization, there remain many patients suffering bad outcome after endovascular treatment, especially for occlusion at the distal portion of internal carotid artery. The goal of the current study was to investigate the value of collateral circulation in predicting malignant events after endovascular treatment in acute ischemic stroke-terminal internal carotid artery (AIS-TICA) patients.

Methods: The records of forty-one patients with AIS-TICA as confirmed by digital subtraction angiography and subjected to mechanical thrombectomy were reviewed.

Various neuromodulatory strategies combining direct stimulating interventions with behavioral trainings for motor recovery after ischemic stroke have been developed. However, the effectiveness of these interventions varies widely due to unspecific activation or inhibition of undefined neuronal subtypes.

Identification of noncoding RNA expression profiles and regulatory interaction networks following traumatic spinal cord injury by sequence analysis.

Aim: To systematically profile and characterize the noncoding RNA (ncRNA) expression pattern in the lesion epicenter of spinal tissues after traumatic spinal cord injury (TSCI) and predicted the structure and potential functions of the regulatory networks associated with these differentially expressed ncRNAs and mRNAs.

Results: A total of 498 circRNAs, 458 lncRNAs, 155 miRNAs and 1203 mRNAs were identified in TSCI mice models to be differentially expressed. The regulatory networks associated with these differentially expressed ncRNAs and mRNAs were constructed.

Combined microwave ablation and antiangiogenic therapy to increase local efficacy.

We aim to evaluate the efficacy, safety and survival time of microwave ablation (MWA) with adjuvant antiangiogenic therapy-endostatin in animal models. A total of 40 rabbits successfully implanted with VX2 tumors were randomly assigned to four experimental groups: Group A underwent only microwave ablation of the tumors; Group B received only antiangiogenic drugs endostatin; Group C received endostatin immediately after MWA; Group D followed up without treatment. Two months post-treatment, tumor sizes of Group A and Group C were reduced to 1.

Suboptimal health status as an independent risk factor for type 2 diabetes mellitus in a community-based cohort: the China suboptimal health cohort study.

Background: The prevalence of diabetes, constituted chiefly by type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), is a global public health threat. Suboptimal health status (SHS), a physical state between health and disease, might contribute to the progression or development of T2DM.

Methods: We conducted a prospective cohort study, based on the China Suboptimal Health Cohort Study (COACS), to understand the impact of SHS on the progress of T2DM.
