This retrospective study reviewed 28 patients, aged 10 to 17 years, who underwent corrective osteotomy for malunion of the proximal phalangeal distal condyles at a mean of 9 weeks (range 2-52) from injury. There were 19 patients treated with K-wire and nine patients with locking plates. The two groups were comparable for trauma mechanism, fracture type, time delay from injury and the type of initial treatment.
