Considering that the therapeutic index of anticancer drugs is low, it is essential to design and develop an accurate and correct method to analyze and determine the concentration of anticancer drugs in the biological samples. In this study, graphene quantum dots/hydrogel nanocomposite was used to determine cisplatin concentration in urine samples.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) possesses unique viscoelastic properties and low immunogenicity, making it suitable for various biomedical purposes such as viscosupplementation in osteoarthritis treatment, assistance in eye surgery, and wound regeneration. The need for its quantification in human biofluids is crucial in clinical studies. This research work presents a novel approach using paper-based and parafilm-based photochemical techniques, employing triangular silver nanoprisms (TA-AgNPrs) as optical nanoprobes for HA detection in human biofluids.

Incorporation of spray-dried encapsulated bioactive peptides from coconut ( L.) meal by-product in bread formulation.

This study aimed to stabilize and mask the bitterness of peptides obtained from the enzymatic hydrolysis of coconut-meal protein with maltodextrin (MD) and maltodextrin-pectin (MD-P) as carriers via spray-drying. Essential (~35%), hydrophobic (~32%), antioxidant (~15%), and bitter (~45%) amino acids comprised a significant fraction of the peptide composition (with a degree of hydrolysis of 33%). The results indicated that the peptide's production efficiency, physical and functional properties, and hygroscopicity improved after spray-drying.

Strict association between development of psychological conditions and hypertension incidence: A cross-sectional study.

Background/aims: Previous studies indicated a significant association between mental disorders and cardiovascular diseases, including heart failure (HF) and coronary artery disease (CAD) with comorbidity hypertension (HTN), and vice versa, leading to a challenge in the final decision.
