Hematological malignancies exhibit a widespread distribution, necessitating evaluation of disease activity over the entire body. In clinical practice, visual analysis and semiquantitative parameters are used to assess F-FDGPET/CT imaging, which solely represents measurements of disease activity from limited area and may not adequately reflect global disease assessment. An efficient method for assessing the global disease burden of hematological malignancies is to employ PET/computed tomography based novel quantitative parameters.

Background: CA 19-9 is an extremely useful biomarker for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas (PDACs). However, the optimal cut-off and prognostic significance at higher cut-offs are yet to be determined.
Methods: Retrospective analysis included patients with PDAC who underwent curative resection from January 2010 to May 2020 at Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai.

Background: Different fibula osteocutaneous free flap (FOCFF) configurations have been described with a double-skin paddle (DSP) to address composite through-and-through oromandibular defects: division of the skin paddle using different perforators (div-FOCFF) or a de-epithelialized DSP FOCFF (deEpi-FOCFF). This study aimed to compare the surgical outcomes using these two methods (deEpi-FOCFF/div-FOCFF).
Methods: Patients who underwent segmental mandibulectomy and reconstruction with a DSP FOCFF between 2011 and 2014 were included.

Objective: To determine the clinical utility of serum CA 19-9 surveillance for detecting recurrences in resected ampullary carcinomas (ACs).
Introduction: Although an established prognostic marker for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, the value of CA 19-9 in resected ACs during follow-up is unknown.
Methods: Retrospective analysis of ACs undergoing pancreaticoduodenectomy at Tata Memorial Centre-Mumbai, from January 2012 to January 2020 was performed.

Transparent and precise endpoint definitions are a crucial aspect of clinical trial conduct and reporting, and are used to communicate the benefit of an intervention. Previous studies have identified inconsistencies in endpoint definitions across oncological clinical trials. Here, the Head and Neck Cancer International Group assessed endpoint definitions from phase 3 trials or trials considered practice-changing for patients with recurrent or metastatic mucosal head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, published between 2008 and 2021.

Background And Aims: Thoracic epidural insertion has high failure rates in the mid-thoracic region due to steep angulation of oblique bending of spinous processes. The preferred skin puncture point for epidural needle insertion in the paramedian sagittal plane with respect to the superior/inferior tip of spinous process or inter-spinous cleft in the mid-thoracic region (T5-8) is not standard. The primary objective of this prospective observational study was to find the skin puncture point which had the best success rate for a successful epidural catheterization.

Background: Spindle cell lipomas (SL) and pleomorphic lipomas (PL) are rare variants of lipomas, occurring predominantly in the head and neck region. Laryngeal SL/PL is very uncommon and causes obstructive symptoms needing immediate intervention. These tumors are often challenging in radiology due to the admixture of elements and the presence of adipose tissue may help in diagnosis.

Light-chain deposition disease (LCDD) is a rare CNS disorder characterized by the extracellular accumulation of monoclonal immunoglobulin light chains in various organs. LCDD typically arises secondary to an underlying plasma cell dyscrasia, such as monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance or multiple myeloma. However, rare cases can occur in the absence of a demonstrable plasma cell disorder.

Constitutional mismatch repair deficiency (CMMRD) is a rare childhood cancer predisposition syndrome that results from biallelic germline mutations in one of the four MMR genes, MLH1, MSH2, MSH6, or PMS2. This syndrome is characterized by a broad spectrum of early-onset malignancies, including hematologic malignancies, colorectal malignancies, brain tumors, and other malignancies. It is common to have more than one malignancy in an individual diagnosed with CMMRD.

Malformations of cortical development (MCD) are a group of disorders affecting the normal development of the human cortex and are significant causes of delay in psychomotor development and epilepsy in children. Lissencephaly (smooth brain) forms a major group of brain malformations. Microtubules help in the migration of neuronal cells.

Purpose: To study the late urinary toxicity in patients with prostate cancer with prior transurethral resection of prostate (TURP) and treated with hypofractionated prostate radiation therapy.
Methods And Materials: Patients diagnosed with prostate cancer, with a prior TURP, and treated with moderate or extreme hypofractionated intensity-modulated radiation therapy (moderate hypofractionated radiation therapy [MHRT], stereotactic body radiation therapy [SBRT]), were included in this study. Severity and duration of urinary symptoms observed during serial follow-up after at least 3 months from radiation therapy were graded per National Cancer Institute Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events v5.

Background: Endoscopic ultrasound-guided gallbladder drainage (EUS-GBD) offers a safe and minimally invasive alternative for percutaneous cholecystostomy (PCC) in acute cholecystitis patients with high-surgical risk. Additionally, EUS-GBD serves as a rescue biliary drainage in malignant distal biliary obstruction. Despite its widespread application, data within the Indian context remains sparse.

An ectopic kidney is often found inadvertently during CT, ultrasonography, MRI, or urologic physical examination. Ectopic kidneys usually occur in the pelvis. A pelvic ectopic kidney may be misinterpreted for a pelvic tumor by less experienced physicians and surgeons.

Nephrogenic adenoma (NA) is a benign, reactive lesion seen predominantly in the urinary bladder and often associated with antecedent inflammation, instrumentation, or an operative history. Its histopathologic diversity can create diagnostic dilemmas and pathologists use morphologic evaluation along with available immunohistochemical (IHC) markers to navigate these challenges. IHC assays currently do not designate or specify NA's potential putative cell of origin.

Introduction: Urachal cancer (UC) is a rare genitourinary malignancy arising from the urachus, an embryonic remnant of the placental allantois. Its diagnosis remains ambiguous with late-stage cancer detection and represents a highly aggressive disease. Due to its rarity, there is no clear consensus on molecular signatures and appropriate clinical management of UC.
