Biochemical modifications of zona pellucida (ZP) result in zona hardening. Zona hardening (ZH) is induced by several factors such as advancing maternal age, in vitro culture conditions and cryopreservation and adversely effects implantation. The objective of the clinical study was to determine whether or not laser-assisted hatching (LAH) applied on day 3 frozen embryos improves the outcome of frozen embryo transfer (FET) cycles in patients with recurrent implantation failure and/or advanced female age.

We present here a new procedure to represent the 3D distribution of neuronal cell bodies within the brain, using exclusively softwares free for research purposes. Our technique is based on digitalized photos of brain slices processed by immunohistochemical technique, and the 3D Slicer software. The technique presented enables transposition of immunohistochemical or in situ hybridization data to the stereotaxic mouse brain atlas (e.

Hypothalamus is the highest center and the main crossroad of numerous homeostatic regulatory pathways including reproduction and energy metabolism. Previous reports indicate that some of these functions may be driven by the synchronized but distinct functioning of the left and right hypothalamic sides. However, the nature of interplay between the hemispheres with regard to distinct hypothalamic functions is still unclear.

A blinded, randomised, placebo-controlled clinical trial was conducted to evaluate the efficacy and safety of valnemulin hydrochloride premix during an outbreak of epizootic rabbit enteropathy (ERE) when administered in feed for 21 consecutive days after confirmation of the first ERE case. Administration of valnemulin at 20 and 35 parts per million (ppm) significantly reduced mortality by 11% and 7.6%, respectively, when compared with the non-medicated control group (23% mortality).

Background: Based on its distribution in the brain, ecto-nucleoside triphosphate diphosphohydrolase 3 (NTPDase3) may play a role in the hypothalamic regulation of homeostatic systems, including feeding, sleep-wake behavior and reproduction. To further characterize the morphological attributes of NTPDase3-immunoreactive (IR) hypothalamic structures in the rat brain, here we investigated: 1.) The cellular and subcellular localization of NTPDase3; 2.

This study was undertaken in order to characterize Cryptosporidium meleagridis isolated from a turkey in Hungary and to compare the morphologies, host specificities, organ locations, and small-subunit RNA (SSU rRNA) gene sequences of this organism and other Cryptosporidium species. The phenotypic differences between C. meleagridis and Cryptosporidium parvum Hungarian calf isolate (zoonotic genotype) oocysts were small, although they were statistically significant.
