State Key Laboratory of Materials Processing and Die & Mould Technology, School of Materials Science and Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, 430074, China.

The uncontrolled dendrite growth and detrimental parasitic reactions of Zn anodes currently impede the large-scale implementation of aqueous zinc ion batteries. Here, we design a versatile quasi-solid-state polymer electrolyte with highly selective ion transport channels via molecular crosslinking of sodium polyacrylate, lithium magnesium silicate and cellulose nanofiber. The abundant negatively charged ionic channels modulate Zn desolvation process and facilitate ion transport.

Barium zirconium trisulfide (BZS) is a three-dimensional (3D) perovskite with optoelectronic properties suitable for photovoltaic (PV) and light-emitting diode (LED) applications that is conventionally reported in the orthorhombic (62) symmetry. Synchrotron X-ray diffraction, thermal analysis, and Raman and absorption spectroscopy revealed three high-temperature polymorphs that appear when BZS is heated in air prior to complete oxidation (BaZrS + 5O → BaSO + ZrO + 2SO↑) at 700 °C with the approximate stability ranges: BaZrS IV (62)T < 400 °CBaZrS III (63)400 °C ≤ T ≤ 500 °CBaZrS II14/ (140)500 °C ≤ T ≤ 700 °CDifferential scanning calorimetry (DSC) revealed exothermic features accompanying the IV → III and III → II phase changes. Furthermore, the direct band gap varied inversely with temperature with distinct energies for each polymorph (1.

An all-perovskite tandem cell based on narrow-bandgap mixed tin-lead (Sn-Pb) alloyed perovskites is a potential photovoltaic device whose power conversion efficiency can exceed the Shockley-Queisser limit of a single-junction solar cell, 33%. However, comprehensive descriptions of the charge-carrier mobilities and transport mechanisms in the mixed Sn-Pb perovskite system remain elusive. Herein, we integrate density functional theory (DFT) calculations with charge transport models to provide more insight into the electronic structures and transport behaviors of these materials.

Benefiting from the merits of intrinsic safety, high power density, environmental friendliness, and high-output voltage, aqueous dual-ion batteries (ADIBs) have shown broad potential applications in future grid-scale energy storage. However, since the ADIBs require the cathodes to undergo the intercalation reactions through different local structures and mechanisms, causing large structural deformation and cathode failure, their reversible cation-anion intercalation in the cathode remains a major challenge. To address this issue, based on a reasonable selection and theoretical simulation, this work finds that Todorokite manganese dioxide (t-MnO) cathode with a metal-ion stabilized 3 × 3 large-tunnel structure should be suitable for cation-anion intercalation of ADIBs.

Zeolitic imidazolate framework-67 (ZIF-67) was synthesized in the hydrogel of chitosan-grafted poly(acrylic acid) (chitosan--PAA) to activate peroxymonosulfate (PMS) and degrade tetracycline (TC). The catalytic performance of the composite hydrogel for TC degradation was evaluated under different conditions. The results showed rapid degradation, with enhanced degradation efficiency as the catalyst dosage, PMS dosage, and temperature increased.

This study investigates the enhancement of LiTiSiO anode material through Na doping via two routes: melt-quenching (route I) and subsequent heat treatment (route II). A 5 % Na-doped ceramic sample significantly improves Li-ion mobility and discharge capacity (215 mA h g at 10 mA g), sustaining 45 mA h g at a high rate of 1 A g. However, higher doping levels hinder performance, indicating Li-ion path obstruction and non-conductive impurities.

Mechanisms of enhanced performance in Zr/Ta codoped rutile-TiO ceramics via broadband dielectric spectroscopy.

Department of Physics, Faculty of Science, Giant Dielectric and Computational Design Research Group (GD-CDR), Khon Kaen University, Khon Kaen, 40002, Thailand.

Aliovalent dopant codoped rutile-TiO materials have garnered attention due to their excellent performance properties, characterized by low loss tangent (tanδ), high dielectric permittivity (ε'), and stable ε' over a broad temperature range. This performance is primarily due to the electron-pinned defect-dipoles (EPDDs) of the complex defects [Formula: see text]Ti-[Formula: see text]TiB. Notably, the excellent dielectric properties in ZrTaTiO (Zr-TTO) ceramics can be achieved using the traditional mixed oxide method without the EPDDs, due to the absence of A (acceptor doping ions).

The rational design of isolated metals containing zeolites is crucial for the catalytic conversion of biomass-derived compounds. Herein, we explored the insertion behavior of the isomorphic substitution of Ti(IV) in different zeolite frameworks, including ZSM-35 (FER), ZSM-5, and BEA. The different aluminium topological densities of each zeolite framework lead to the creation of different degrees of vacant sites for hosting the tetrahedrally coordinated Ti(IV) active sites.

Centre for Research and Development of Medical Diagnostic Laboratories, Faculty of Associated Medical Sciences, Khon Kaen University, Khon Kaen, Thailand.

Polydopamine nanoparticles (PDA NPs) are widely utilized in the field of biomedical science for surface functionalization because of their unique characteristics, such as simple and low-cost preparation methods, good adhesive properties, and ability to incorporate amine and oxygen-rich chemical groups. However, challenges in the application of PDA NPs as surface coatings on electrode surfaces and in conjugation with biomolecules for electrochemical sensors still exist. In this work, we aimed to develop an electrochemical interface based on PDA NPs conjugated with a DNA aptamer for the detection of glycated albumin (GA) and to study DNA aptamers on the surfaces of PDA NPs to understand the aptamer-PDA surface interactions using molecular dynamics (MD) simulation.
