We aimed to determine whether stool characteristics measured by trained artificial intelligence (AI) and physicians correlate with inflammation in UC.
Methods: Patients hospitalized with acute severe UC (ASUC) were asked to capture images of all bowel movements using a smartphone application (Dieta®).

Virtual reality (VR) stands as an innovative technology transforming our interactions with the digital world. Its integration into health care has proven advantageous for both patients and health care providers across multiple levels and modalities. Given that VR is becoming increasingly accessible and prevalent, health care providers should explore incorporating the technology into their practices, particularly within the pediatric population, which is becoming progressively more accustomed to the technology.

Introduction: Both glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RA) and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) improve glycemia in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D). However, it is unknown whether adding CGM to GLP-1 RA therapy further improves A1c. We evaluated changes in A1c levels 6 months after initiation of FreeStyle Libre (FSL) in adults with sub-optimally controlled T2D already on GLP-1 RA therapy.

Importance: Given that resident physician financial strain has been associated with poor outcomes, objective metrics to forecast financial well-being may be useful to (1) applicants when evaluating ophthalmology residency programs and (2) programs when determining resident benefits.
Objectives: To determine and compare the relative value of ophthalmology resident stipends plus benefits when adjusted for cost-of-living expenses and to analyze program characteristics associated with greater resident net incomes.
Design, Setting, And Participants: In this cross-sectional study, the American Medical Association's Fellowship and Residency Electronic Interactive Database was used to identify US Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-accredited ophthalmology residency programs.

Background: A dual-chamber leadless pacemaker system has been designed for atrioventricular synchronous pacing using wireless, beat-to-beat, implant-to-implant (i2i) communication between distinct atrial and ventricular leadless pacemakers. The atrioventricular synchrony achieved across various ambulatory scenarios has yet to be systematically evaluated.
Methods: A prospective, single-arm, unblinded, multicenter, international clinical trial of the leadless pacemaker system was conducted in patients with a conventional dual-chamber pacing indication enrolled from February 2022 to March 2023.

Extranodal involvement in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is defined as disease outside of the lymph nodes and occurs in up to one-third of patients, though multiorgan extranodal involvement is rare. Here, we describe a case of a patient presenting with widely metastatic lesions, including involvement of the lung, parotid gland, breast, pancreas, femur and multiple soft tissue masses, with initial concern for primary breast malignancy. Breast pathology and imaging were consistent with triple-expressor, double-hit stage IV high-grade B-cell lymphoma with extensive extranodal involvement.
