Photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) is an effective treatment modality, which has the significant advantage of enhancing a patient's quality of life (QoL) by minimising the side effects of oral cancer treatments, as well as assisting in the management of potentially cancerous lesions. It is important to note that the major evidence-based documentation neither considers, nor tackles, the issues related to the impact of PBMT on tumour progression and on the downregulation of cellular proliferation improvement, by identifying the dose- and time-dependency. Moreover, little is known about the risk of this therapy and its safety when it is applied to the tumour, or the impact on the factor of QoL.

Background: Marginal adaptability of restorative material is one of the prime factors for success of a restoration.
Aim: To evaluate microleakage at enamel restoration and dentin restoration interface of Class V cavities restored with new alkasite restorative material Cention-N, with and without using bonding agent and flowable composite resin.
Materials And Methods: Thirty Class V tooth preparations were divided into three groups (n = 10): Group-I restored with Cention-N (Ivoclar Vivadent) without adhesive, Group-II was restored with Cention-N after application of eighth-generation bonding agent (3M ESPE, Single Bond Universal Adhesive), and Group-III was restored with flowable composite resin (Tetric-N-Flow, Ivoclar Vivadent).

Introduction: Oral submucous fibrosis (OSMF), an insidious disease, has not been widely studied with respect to levels of serum beta-carotene (b-carotene). Hence present study aimed to estimate level of serum beta carotene in patients with OSMF.
Material And Methods: 40 subjects (study subjects) with different grades of OSMF and 40 apparently healthy subjects without OSMF (control subjects with age and sex matched as that of study subjects) were screened for serum b-carotene levels employing Sobel and Snow's method.

Aim: The purpose of this study was to use a simple, cost-effective technique for studying mitosis in various grades of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) using 1% Crystal-violet stain and to correlate mitotic frequency index (MFI) obtained by it with Ki67 labeling index (Ki67LI) so as to validate its usefulness as a selective stain for evaluating proliferation.
Materials And Methods: The invasive front grading score (IFG Score) was recorded in 40 patients of OSCC. Mitotic figures were assessed in hematoxylin and eosin (H and E) stained section as well as in 1% crystal-violet stained section using MFI (MFI = Mitosis/total number of cell counted X100).

Our aim was to compare the efficacy and outcome of customised, titanium, CRB (Chandrashekhar Rushiji Bande), omega miniplates with those of conventional titanium miniplates in the management of parasymphyseal fractures of the mandible, with or without involvement of the mental nerve, after clinical and radiographic evaluation. A total of 252 parasymphyseal fractures in 200 patients were selected for the study over the period of seven years (January 2010-January2017) and divided randomly into two groups. The first group included 126 fractures treated with two conventional titanium miniplates (conventional group) and the second 126 fractures treated with one customised, titanium, CRB, omega miniplate (customised group).

Anterior crown fractures are a common form of traumatic dental injuries that mainly affect the maxillary incisors, especially in children and adolescents. Complicated crown fractures although less common, pose a challenge to the clinician. The main objective while treating such cases is successful pain management and immediate restoration of function, esthetics and phonetics.

Introduction: Adequate closure of the surgical wound is one of the most important aspects of surgery; improper suturing techniques or improper suturing materials sometimes compromise the success of surgery. Many synthetic materials have replaced the natural materials, which were once used for suturing in the ancient era, and Murva is one of them. There are references of Murva ( Schult.

Adult patients are realizing that practical, realistic options now exist to "straighten" their teeth because the cosmetic dentistry revolution has begun to include even "adult short-term cosmetic orthodontics" as an integral part. Previously, the patients were bound to select between either the aesthetic benefits of ceramic or the bondability characteristic of composite, however this can now be fabricated in such a manner that still allows placement of a lingual splint so as to steady the orthodontic movement. This article describes a case study whereby the patient can attain the aesthetic benefits of an all ceramic crown or a veneer which was retained by incorporating/reinforcing a metal framework of crown itself.
