Introduction: Evidence suggests an increasing misuse of veterinary medicines by humans. This study aims to analyse Adverse Events (AEs) associated with selected veterinary products using the Food and Drug Administration Adverse Events Reporting System (FAERS).
Methods: A descriptive pharmacovigilance analysis was conducted on AEs related to 21 drugs approved for human and/or animal use.

Age-related decline in episodic memory is often linked to structural and functional changes in the brain. Here, we investigated how these alterations might affect functional connectivity during memory retrieval following exposure to emotional stimuli. Using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), participants viewed images with varying emotional valences (positive, negative, and neutral) followed by unrelated non-arousing videos and were then asked to retrieve an episodic detail from the previously shown video.

Aim: Although newer technologies of insulin delivery in type 1 diabetes have facilitated an improvement in glycaemic control the risk of hypoglycaemia remains a threat. Therefore, it is important to define the thresholds of glycaemic variability below which the risk of hypoglycaemia can be eliminated or at least minimized.
Methods: Randomized controlled trials conducted from 2017 to 2023 comparing Sensor-Augmented-Pumps and Augmented Insulin Delivery Systems (n = 16 and 22 studies, respectively) were selected.

This study examines the relationship between respondents' vaccine hesitancy, reported media consumption patterns, ideological leanings, and trust in science. A large-scale survey conducted in the US in 2022 (N = 1,646) assessed self-reported COVID-19 vaccination, trust in science, and reported media consumption. Findings show that, regardless of personal ideology, individuals who consumed less conservative media and had a more ideologically diverse media diet were more likely to be fully vaccinated and boosted.

Osseointegrated implants, either in native bone or in reconstructed bone, have allowed clinicians to provide greater function and esthetics, following treatment of head and neck pathology. The survival of these implants may be in variance with the success and survival we see with osseointegrated implants in conventional, nonablative rehabilitation. This article looks at the survival and complications with using osseointegrated implants in rehabilitation of the maxillofacial region.

The overall aim of the present study was to understand how dancers' perception and parents' own perceptions of parents' responsiveness and competence support were associated with dancers' self-perceptions and thriving. In total, 64 dancers and 91 parents for a total of 52 matching dyads participated in the study. Dancers were aged 7-24 years, trained on average 4.

Background: Addressing loneliness, which is associated with poor mental and physical health, implicates the need for connectivity to a broad set of situated relationships and activities in the contexts of people's everyday lives. Social engagement has been identified as a relevant psychosocial mechanism mediating health and wellness and is central to addressing loneliness. The aim here is to explore the way in which people identified as lonely conceptualise their experiences of loneliness and social engagement for the purposes of incorporating these into the design and workings of an intervention that allows people to map their social networks and connect them to community-based valued activities.

Purpose: This study outlines the initiation of an interprofessional education (IPE) program designed for optometry and education students. The program aimed to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and improve the management of eye health in children with special educational needs (SEN) - a vulnerable and underserved group.
Methods: This program incorporated lectures and workshops to impart essential knowledge about SEN and to develop the necessary attitudes and skills for conducting eye examinations.

Clustering of multi-view data divides objects into groups by preserving structure of clusters in all views, requiring simultaneously takes into consideration diversity and consistency of various views, corresponding to the shared and specific components of various views. Current algorithms fail to fully characterize and balance diversity and consistency of various views, resulting in the undesirable performance. Here, a novel Multi-View Clustering with Deep non-negative matrix factorization and Multi-Level Representation (MVC-DMLR) learning is proposed, which integrates feature learning, multi-level topology representation, and clustering of multi-view data.

Models of shift work and health suggest that individual differences in circadian rhythm characteristics may moderate the relationship between night shift work and injury, but this argument has not been directly tested. In this study, we tested the efficacy of two circadian rhythm characteristics-vigour and flexibility-as moderators of the path between shift work and injury. In addition, we aimed to replicate the association between vigour, flexibility, and alertness by time of day, and the measurement properties of the Circadian Type Inventory.

Background: The prevalence of neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) continues to increase. Hospital Eye Services are operating above capacity, innovative solutions to minimise the high proportion of false negative referrals, improve the care pathway and increase capacity for those patients who need ongoing care are essential are essential.
Methods: A two-phase retrospective longitudinal analysis of all patients referred and assessed for nAMD between; April 2019 to March 2020 (Phase 1) n=394, and April 2020 to March 2021 (Phase 2) n= 414, within Swansea Bay University Health Board (SBUHB).

In this work, we aim to unveil the general correlations between the performance of a physical reservoir computing (RC) system and the inherent nonlinear dynamics of the adopted device. Taking the metal-ferroelectric-metal (MFM) capacitor, one of the most popular candidate devices for compute-in-memory (CIM) technology, as the computational platform, we construct a nonlinear dynamical model of polarization in the ferroelectric layer. We then design the physical RC utilizing a single and/or an array of MFM capacitors by analyzing the model's stability and feasible dynamical cases.

High-quality bowel preparation is integral to high-quality colonoscopy and adenoma detection. Studies evaluating the effect of pre-colonoscopy educational videos on bowel preparation quality have been variable. We investigated whether augmenting bowel preparation education using our professionally produced, patient-oriented, online educational video series would improve preparation quality, reduce need for repeat procedures, and improve adenoma detection rate (ADR).

Introduction: The NHS Long-term Plan outlines a number of approaches to address delays and diagnose three out of four cancers at an early stage, and yet patients regularly experience delays to diagnosis. Attempts to address such delays include the implementation of a number of rapid diagnosis pathways (RDPs). This realist review explores rapid diagnosis pathways for prostate cancer, identifying approaches to RDPs, as well as generating theories regarding what works, for whom and under which circumstances.
