Purpose Of Review: To describe recent evidence regarding surgical techniques for secondary scleral fixation of intraocular lenses (IOLs), with attention to information most relevant to the surgical practice of vitreoretinal surgeons.
Recent Findings: Recent studies have reported favorable outcomes in patients treated with scleral fixation of IOLs using Gore-Tex suture and flanged intrascleral haptic fixation (ISHF). ISHF can be achieved using trocar-cannulas or double needle-based techniques.

Introduction: The three-arm approach is mainly selected, despite the multiple robotic arms in da Vinci Xi. This type of surgical setup may provide less autonomy to the console surgeon and result in greater dependence on the bedside surgical assistant. Therefore, the 4th arm is used instead of the assist port, which is why we developed "pure" robot simple hysterectomy (PRSH) as a novel surgical technique, in which all ports are operated by robotic arms.

Aim: To observe the clinical outcomes of 30-gauge (G) needle-guided 10-0 prolene suture purse-string pupilloplasty for atonic pupil management.
Methods: Eight patients with atonic pupils who underwent suture purse-string pupilloplasty were retrospectively analyzed. Preoperative data and at least 6mo of postoperative data were collected from all the patients.

Background: We aimed to assess the outcomes of reduced port surgery using "marionette technique" in patients with primary spontaneous pneumothorax (PSP) compared to conventional three-port video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery( VATS).
Methods: Ninety patients were enrolled in this study from August 2015 to July 2021. The marionette technique was performed as follow.

Vascular cognitive impairment and dementia (VCID) results from vascular brain injury. Given VCID's high incidence, which is expected to continue rising as the population ages, it is critical to establish a robust animal model for the disease. This paper presents a novel method of creating a mouse model of VCID that is based on asymmetric bilateral common carotid artery stenosis, which mimics human chronic cerebral hypoperfusion caused by carotid atherosclerosis.

Introduction: To present a novel surgical technique for the treatment of a steep-walled filtering bleb following an Ahmed glaucoma valve implant. The primary aim was to alleviate the patient's discomfort and address associated corneal thinning, complications that can arise from this condition.
Methods: Case report and surgical technique.

Background: Suture-loaded long hollow needles are used in arthroscopic surgery to pass or retrieve sutures and in meniscal repair surgeries. However, manual suture loading can be time-consuming and challenging, especially with finer sutures. We present a novel technique using vacuum suction to simplify and expedite suture loading in hollow needles and similar devices.

Purpose: To compare the biomechanical properties of quadriceps tendon (QT) graft stitch methods using 3 different suture systems for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.
Methods: A total of 48 QTs were harvested from cadaveric knee specimens (age: 73 ± 7 years; range, 66-86 years). Samples were randomly divided into 3 groups where different suture needle systems were used to create 2 stitch methods: whipstitch (WS) and locking stitch (LS).

In this study, we introduce a technique that combines percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy (PELD) with annular suture, aiming to reduce postoperative recurrence rates and enhance clinical outcomes for patients. The repair of the annulus fibrosus plays a pivotal role in healing ruptured scars, reducing the rate of nuclear reherniation, and enhancing the hardness of scar tissue through surgical intervention. Younger patients, with their higher water content in the intervertebral discs and stronger nucleus pulposus tissue, are more suitable candidates for tissue suturing, thus achieving a higher success rate.

Background: Esophageal schwannoma is an extremely rare esophageal submucosal tumor. We report a case of a hybrid surgery for a large esophageal schwannoma that had extended from the cervical to the upper thoracic esophagus by using thoracoscopic and cervical approaches.
Case Presentation: A 58-year-old male was referred to our hospital for further examination and treatment of dysphagia and weight loss over the past 6 months.

This video-article describes a laparoscopic cervico-isthmic cerclage technique for managing cervical insufficiency in both pregnant and non-pregnant patients, utilizing a port-site closure device for precise suture placement. Two cases-one non-pregnant and one at 12 weeks gestation-underwent the procedure, with details on trocar placement, dissection, and suture passage documented. Both surgeries were completed successfully, with minimal blood loss and no complications.

Objective: To compare residual myometrial thickness (RMT) and cesarean scar defect (CSD) development after cesarean section using double-layer locked and unlocked closure techniques.
Materials And Methods: We conducted a randomized double-blinded trial comparing double-layer locked and unlocked uterine closure techniques following cesarean section in primiparous women. The locked technique involved continuous suturing of the full myometrial thickness in the first layer, followed by back-and-forth needle maneuvering on both sides of the incision for the second layer.

Background: Esophageal gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are relatively rare, accounting for 2-5% of all GISTs. Typically, the treatment is surgery in nature. However, no standard procedure established for esophageal GISTs, and in many cases, subtotal esophagectomy or local resection via thoracoscopy or mediastinoscopy is performed.

Introduction And Hypothesis: Challenges in intracorporeal knot tying can be addressed with extracorporeal slip knots, simplifying the process of tying and managing tissue tension using a knot pusher. However, existing extracorporeal knot techniques are difficult owing to their complexity, the finesse required with thin yarns, and extensive training needs. We developed a new laparoscopic extracorporeal slip knot technique that can be used with a conventional needle driver or standard clamps, offering the advantages of being cost-effective and easy to learn.

Background: The ventral and distal aspects of the corpora cavernosa are the thinnest, increasing the likelihood of cylinder extrusion or crossover complications pertaining to inflatable penile prosthesis procedures. A double distal corporal anchoring double stitch can be used to robustly secure impending lateral extrusions and crossovers of implant cylinders. It is a novel, effective corrective measure for the uncommon complication of migrated cylinders in inflatable penile prosthesis placement.

Current treatments for medial meniscus lesions in association with CCL ruptures have shown disappointing long-term outcomes. Meniscal suturing may improve the outcome, but their clinical application remains limited. This study aims to assess the practicability of a minimally invasive DNT to facilitate meniscal suturing in dogs.

We describe a patient with a matured transposed brachiobasilic fistula that was difficult to cannulate due to "rolling" and the inability to fixate. After placing multiple parallel transcutaneous sutures close to the fistula, there were no difficulties with needling. Even after removing the sutures, cannulation went uneventful.
