Conventional deep brain stimulation (DBS) for movement disorders is a well-established clinical treatment. Over the last few decades, over 200,000 people have been treated by DBS worldwide for several neurological conditions, including Parkinson's disease and Essential Tremor. DBS involves implanting electrodes into disorder-specific targets in the brain and applying an electric current.

Genital gender-affirming masculinization surgeries require handling of small vessels and nerves handling in deep planes. Since the introduction of the Symani Surgical System for robotic-assisted microsurgery in clinical practice, its value in handling small and deep vessels via additional distal motion axes, motion scaling, and tremor elimination has been demonstrated. We combined the Symani with the robotic exoscope RoboticScope to achieve maximum flexibility and ergonomics for the microsurgeon.

Objective: To present a new technique for the management of subdural empyema to promote resolution and prevent recurrence.
Background: Classic treatment for subdural empyema (SDE) has consisted of antibiotics and surgical treatment with either craniotomy or burrholes. There are still several complications that persist after current treatment, including relatively high rates of morbidity and mortality.

Parkinson's disease (PD) afflicted more than 8.5 million people globally in 2019, as the prevalence of the condition more than doubled during the preceding 25 years. Both non-motor symptoms, such as mood disorders and cognitive impairment, and motor symptoms, such as tremors and rigidity, are indicative of this progressive neurodegenerative disease.

Paragangliomas are rare neuroendocrine tumors, often associated with catecholamine secretion. These tumors can arise in various locations, with the majority found in the abdomen and pelvis, while a smaller percentage occurs in the thorax and head and neck regions. Diaphragmatic paragangliomas are exceedingly rare, with only two documented cases in the literature.

Essential tremor (ET) is identified as the most prevalent movement disorder, primarily characterized by tremors in both upper extremities. The spectrum of surgical options for ET includes gamma knife radiosurgery (GKRS) and other stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) modalities. Despite the limitations of these options, SRS is deemed an essential and indispensable approach.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is the second-fastest growing neurodegenerative disease in the world. The major clinical symptoms rigor, tremor, and bradykinesia derive from the degeneration of the nigrostriatal pathway. However, PD is a multi-system disease, and neurodegeneration extends beyond the degradation of the dopaminergic pathway.

Objective: We aim to evaluate the efficacy and safety of blinatumomab for the treatment of post-transplant relapse patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).
Methods: The search was conducted using several databases including the PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform to collect clinical studies related to blinatumomab. The primary outcome measures were complete remission (CR), 1-year overall survival (OS), 2-year OS, median OS and adverse events (AEs).

Background: Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) is an effective treatment for essential tremor (ET) and Parkinsonian tremor (PT). However, current treatment methods can be time-consuming and expose patients to unnecessary radiation. This study investigates the use of the Varian TrueBeam system with FFF beam modes as a potential solution for these issues.

Caffeine, commonly found in coffee and tea, affects various aspects of eye health as it blocks adenosine receptors, impacting tear production, intraocular pressure, macular perfusion, and choroidal thickness. However, its connection with eye conditions like glaucoma and cataracts remains uncertain due to conflicting research findings. Some studies suggest potential benefits for cataracts, while others warn against frequent caffeine intake in glaucoma and surgical scenarios due to possible increases in intraocular pressure.

Introduction: Autoimmune nodopathy (AN) is a new entity in the field of peripheral neuropathies and is defined by the presence of auto-antibodies against structures of the node of Ranvier combined with specific clinico-pathophysiological features and therapy response in affected patients. The target-specific antibodies do not only serve as diagnostic biomarkers but also for treatment evaluation during follow-up.
Case Report: We report a 66-year-old female patient with various autoimmune diseases, including a history of membranous glomerulonephritis which presented with acute-onset, sensorimotor tetraparesis, cranial nerve involvement, and mild respiratory insufficiency.

Deep brain stimulation (DBS) has revolutionized the treatment of movement disorders, including Parkinson's disease (PD), essential tremors, dystonia, and treatment-refractory obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to assess the impact of DBS on Body Mass Index (BMI). Following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) 2020 guidelines, data from 49 studies were reviewed, with 46 studies specifically focusing on BMI and DBS.

With features such as high-definition magnification of the surgical field, filtering of hand tremor, and robotic arm with multi-degree-of-freedom rotatable wrist, surgical robot has unique advantages in various aspects of digestive tract reconstruction (DTR) after robotic gastrectomy (RG). Currently, there is still controversy about the selection and standardized application of DTR after RG for gastric cancer. To standardize the selection and implementation of DTR, we describe various aspects of quality control before DTR, selection of indications, principles of DTR, and prevention and management of postoperative complications of DTR.
