Background: Previous reports from relatively small clinical cohorts have suggested that the clinical presentation of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) differs between men and women.
Objective: We aimed to explore sex differences in clinical and polysomnographic features of OSA in a large nationwide registry.
Methods: Participants from the ongoing Turkish Sleep Apnea Database (TURKAPNE) Study from 34 centers were included in the current analysis.
Background: Epworth Sleepiness Scale(ESS) is widely used in the assessment of excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) despite certain deficiencies. It was aimed to evaluate the factors associated with low ESS scores in subjects investigated for OSA.
Methods: In this cross sectional study, we recorded the ESS and Pittsburg sleep quality index (PSQI) scores of patients undergoing polysomnography in our sleep center between November 2022-January 2023.

Current guidelines recommend adding long-acting muscarinic antagonists (LAMAs) in patients with uncontrolled asthma, despite the use of moderate to high doses of inhaled steroid-long-acting beta agonists (ICS/LABA). This study aims to analyze the factors related to the prescription of add-on LAMA in clinical practice for asthma patients, shedding light on physicians' preferences. This study included adult asthma patients on add-on LAMA and ICS/LABA monitored for at least one year in a national registry comprising 2053 asthmatics.

Background: Flow-related signal void artifacts can be visualized on the T2-weighted (T2W) three-dimensional sampling perfection with application-optimized contrast (3D-SPACE) sequence. Flow void artifacts in the cerebral aqueduct and the fourth ventricle can provide information about cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) flow dynamics.
Purpose: In this study, we aimed to test the performance of the T2W 3D-SPACE sequence in assessing the CSF flow in the aqueduct and/or fourth ventricle.

Introduction: Biomarkers that could reliably anticipate the effectiveness of antihistamines and omalizumab in treating chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) have not been conclusively identified. Our objective was to examine how eosinophilic cationic protein (ECP), tryptase, D-dimer, and total Immunoglobulin E (IgE) impact the response to antihistamine and omalizumab treatments in individuals with CSU.
Methods: In this cross-sectional retrospective study, CSU patients that had undergone treatment with either antihistamines or omalizumab for a minimum of 12 weeks between 2015 and 2021 at an Allergy and Immunology Department were analyzed.

Introduction: Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a common, highly contagious pathogen and a leading cause of serious illness among infants and older adults. While existing scientific evidence has predominantly focused on the epidemiology and disease burden of RSV in infants, data in older adults remain limited in some countries, including those in Southeast Asia (SEA) and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Here, we outline the key challenges for understanding the burden of RSV in older adults in SEA and the MENA region and we propose opportunities for improving understanding and eventually reducing the impact of RSV.

Background/aim: The most common and often first metastatic site of colorectal cancer (CRC) is the liver, and radiological modalities have a critical role in the diagnosis of colorectal liver metastasis (CRLM). In this study, the possible relationship between portal vein diameter, number of metastases, and metastasis diameter was evaluated in CRLM patients who underwent computed tomography (CT) examination with intravenous contrast (IV).
Patients And Methods: Cases diagnosed with CRLM who underwent abdominal CT examination with IV contrast between December 2020 and January 2024 were retrospectively scanned.

Introduction: Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) is a severe condition that is characterized by recurrent partial or complete breathing interruptions during sleep, leading to insulin resistance, microvascular complications, and cardiovascular complications. It is of great importance to know the impact of type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM), which is prevalent in the world and in our country, Turkey, leads to significant mortality and morbidity, significantly affects the quality of life, and requires continuous follow-up, on sleep in patients with OSAS and to raise awareness on this issue. In this study, we aimed to determine the effects of diabetes on sleep duration and sleep architecture in patients with OSAS and to investigate the relationship between OSAS severity and DM control.
