Objectives: We explored how to improve communication about low-risk lesions including labels, language and other strategies.
Design: Qualitative description and thematic analysis to examine the transcripts of telephone interviews with patients who had low-risk lesions and physicians; and mapping to Communication Accommodation Theory to interpret themes.
Setting: Canada PARTICIPANTS: 15 patients: 6 (40%) bladder, 5 (33%) prostate and 4 (27%) cervix lesions; and 13 physicians: 7 (54%) cervix, 3 (23%) bladder and 3 (23%) prostate lesions.

(1) Background: To make recommendations on the most effective therapy options for Ductal Carcinoma of the Breast (DCIS) patients; (2) Methods: MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, PROSPERO databases, and main relevant guideline websites were searched. Draft versions of the guideline went through formal internal and external reviews, with a final approval by the Program in Evidence Based Care and the DCIS Expert Panel. The Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation approach was followed; (3) Results: Based on the current evidence from the systematic review and this guideline authors' clinical opinions, initial draft recommendations were developed to improve the management of patients with DCIS.

Noncoding RNA 886 has emerged as a pivotal regulatory RNA with distinct functions across tissues, acting as a regulator of protein activity by directly binding to protein partners. While it is well recognized as a tumor suppressor in prostate cancer, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain elusive. To discover the principal pathways regulated by nc886 in prostate cancer, we used a transcriptomic and proteomic approach analyzing malignant DU145, LNCaP, PC3, and benign RWPE-1 prostate cell line models transiently transfected with in vitro transcribed nc886 or antisense oligonucleotides.

Aims: Breath holding can reduce the cardiac dose in radiotherapy for left-sided breast cancer. We evaluated whether any of the existing commonly used breath-hold techniques was superior in maintaining a more reproducible mean heart dose (MHD) during treatment.
Materials And Methods: This was a single-institution, interventional, nonrandomised, three-armed prospective trial, comparing the reproducibility of MHD in breath-hold radiotherapy using voluntary deep inspiration breath hold (vDIBH), active breathing control (ABC), and surface-guided radiotherapy (SGRT).

Diagnoses of CNS malignancies in the primary and metastatic setting have significantly advanced in the last decade with the advent of molecular pathology. Using a combination of immunohistochemistry, next-generation sequencing, and methylation profiling integrated with traditional histopathology, patient prognosis and disease characteristics can be understood to a much greater extent. This has recently manifested in predicting response to targeted drug therapies that are redefining management practices of CNS tumours.

Background: Days at home after surgery is a promising new patient-centred outcome metric that measures time spent outside of healthcare institutions and mortality. The aim of this scoping review was to synthesize the use of days at home in perioperative research and evaluate how it has been termed, defined, and validated, with a view to inform future use.
Methods: The search was run on MEDLINE, Embase, and Scopus on 30 March 2023 to capture all perioperative research where days at home or equivalent was measured.

Leptomeningeal metastatic disease (LMD), encompassing entities of 'meningeal carcinomatosis', neoplastic meningitis' and 'leukaemic/lymphomatous meningitis', arises secondary to the metastatic dissemination of cancer cells from extracranial and certain intracranial malignancies into the leptomeninges and cerebrospinal fluid. The clinical burden of LMD has been increasing secondary to more sensitive diagnostics, aggressive local therapies for discrete brain metastases, and improved management of extracranial disease with targeted and immunotherapeutic agents, resulting in improved survival. However, owing to drug delivery challenges and the unique microenvironment of LMD, novel therapies against systemic disease have not yet translated into improved outcomes for these patients.

Introduction: KEYNOTE-361 evaluated first-line pembrolizumab with and without platinum-based chemotherapy versus chemotherapy alone in advanced or metastatic urothelial carcinoma. The primary end points of progression-free survival (PFS) or overall survival (OS) were not met. Exploratory analysis of efficacy by platinum agent (cisplatin or carboplatin) is reported.

Up to one in five early breast cancer patients develop chronic upper limb lymphedema after breast cancer treatments. This treatment complication is irreversible and can significantly impact the quality of life of breast cancer survivors. The model of prospective surveillance and early intervention has emerged as a potential strategy to prevent the development of this debilitating treatment-related complication.

Therapeutic strategies for early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) are advancing, with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) and targeted therapies making their way into neoadjuvant and adjuvant settings. With recent advances, there was a need for multidisciplinary lung cancer healthcare providers from across Ontario to convene and review recent data from practical and implementation standpoints. The focus was on the following questions: (1) To what extent do patient (e.
