Gene fusions can drive tumor development for multiple types of cancer. Currently, many drugs targeting gene fusions are being approved for clinical application. At present, tyrosine receptor kinase (TRK) inhibitors targeting neurotrophic tyrosine receptor kinase (NTRK) gene fusions are among the first "tumor agnostic" drugs approved for pan-cancer use.

Understanding the dissemination of provaccine and antivaccine messages relating to COVID-19 on social media is crucial; however, studies on this topic have remained limited.
Objective: This study applies the elaboration likelihood model (ELM) to explore the characteristics of vaccine stance messages that may appeal to Twitter users.

Background: Neutrophil to high-density lipoprotein ratio (NHR), a new inflammatory marker, is associated with poor clinical prognosis. However, the correlation of NHR and adverse outcomes in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients remains unclear.
Methods: In this retrospective cohort study, a total of 1051 PD patients were recruited from three centers during Jan 1, 2009 to Dec 31, 2017.

Background: This study determined the predictive value of CRMP4 promoter methylation in prostate tissues collected by core needle biopsies for a postoperative upgrade of Gleason Score (GS) to ≥8 in patients with low-risk PCa.
Method: A retrospective analysis of the clinical data was conducted from 631 patients diagnosed with low-risk PCa by core needle biopsy at multiple centers and then underwent Radical Prostatectomy (RP) from 2014-2019. Specimens were collected by core needle biopsy to detect CRMP4 promoter methylation.

Although multistability is an important dynamic property of a wide range of complex systems, it is still a challenge to develop mathematical models for realising high order multistability using realistic regulatory mechanisms. To address this issue, we propose a robust method to develop multistable mathematical models by embedding bistable models together. Using the GATA1-GATA2-PU.

Pulmonary lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma (pLELC) is a rare subtype of lung cancer that is associated with the Epstein-Barr virus in Asia. Due to the lack of prospective studies, the best first-line treatment and survival outcomes remain unclear. Herein, This study investigated the efficacy and safety of different treatment regimens for advanced pLELC.

The use of vaccines for cancer therapy is a promising immunotherapeutic strategy that has been shown to be effective against various cancers. Vaccines directly target tumors but their efficacy against glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) remains unclear. Immunotyping that classifies tumor samples is considered to be a biomarker for immunotherapy.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to establish a nomogram for predicting cervical lymph node metastasis (CLNM) in patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC).
Materials And Methods: A total of 418 patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma undergoing total thyroidectomy with cervical lymph node dissection were enrolled in the retrospective study from January 2016 to September 2019. Univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analysis were performed to screen the clinicopathologic, laboratory and ultrasound (US) parameters influencing cervical lymph nodes metastasis and develop the predicting model.

Zinc ion as an enzyme cofactor exhibits antiviral and anti-inflammatory activity during infection, but circulating zinc ion level during Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection is unclear. This study aimed to evaluate serum zinc ion level in Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients and healthy subjects, as well as its correlation with antibodies against SARS-CoV-2. 114 COVID-19 patients and 48 healthy subjects (38 healthy volunteers and 10 close contacts of patients with COVID-19) were included.

The number of circulating endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) was found to increase in patients with breast cancer, but the alteration in EPC function remains to be elusive. We conducted this study to evaluate the number and function of peripheral EPCs of breast cancer patients and its possible underlying mechanism. Besides, the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), VCAM-1, IL-6, and IL-34 levels were measured in blood samples and also in vitro in a medium of EPCs.

As cytotoxic T cells, CD8+ T lymphocytes can kill tumor cells by releasing perforin and other effector molecules, but the correlation between their infiltration level and the prognosis of colorectal cancer varies in previous studies. This study aims to explore the distribution of CD8+T cells in tumor center and invasive margin of colorectal cancer, and to analyze their correlation with the prognosis of patients. A retrospective cohort study was used to analyze the clinicopathological features of 221 patients with colorectal cancer from the colorectal cancer pathological database of the Sixth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University between 2009 and 2012.

Esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is one of the most lethal gastrointestinal malignancies with high mortality. Recurrence develops within only a few years after curative resection and perioperative adjuvant therapy in 30-50% of these patients. Therefore, it is essential to identify postoperative recurrence biomarkers to facilitate selecting the following surveillance and therapeutic strategies.

Neuropathic pain (NP) is a common symptom in many diseases of the somatosensory nervous system, which severely affects the patient's quality of life. Epigenetics are heritable alterations in gene expression that do not cause permanent changes in the DNA sequence. Epigenetic modifications can affect gene expression and function and can also mediate crosstalk between genes and the environment.
