Polatuzumab vedotin plus bendamustine and rituximab in relapsed/refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma: A phase III bridging study in Chinese patients.

Background: Patients with transplant-ineligible relapsed/refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (R/R DLBCL) have limited treatment options and poor outcomes.

Methods: This phase III study (NCT04236141) evaluated the efficacy and safety of polatuzumab vedotin plus bendamustine and rituximab (Pola+BR) versus BR in Chinese patients with transplant-ineligible R/R DLBCL to support regulatory submission in China. Patients were randomized 2:1 to receive Pola+BR or placebo+BR.

Hydrogen Bonding Polarization Strengthening the Peptide-Based Hydrogels.

Peptide-based hydrogels form a kind of promising material broadly used in biomedicine and biotechnology. However, the correlation between their hydrogen bonding dynamics and mechanical properties remains uncertain. In this study, we found that the adoption of β-sheet and α-helix secondary structures by ECF-5 and GFF-5 peptides, respectively, could further form fiber networks to immobilize water molecules into hydrogels.

Objective: To develop and validate a predictive model for acute kidney injury (AKI) after cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) surgery in Chinese patients with normal preoperative renal function.

Method: From January 1, 2015, to September 1, 2022, a total of 1003 patients were included in the analysis as a development cohort. We used the ratio of 7:3 to divide the patients into a training group (n = 703) and a testing group (n = 300).

Herein, a series of polymer networks (RuTPA, RuCz, RuPr and RuTz) assembled by ruthenium WOCs (RuCHO) with various organic donors are constructed and combined with calixarene dyes to prepare DSPEC devices. Terrestrial mud volcanoes represent surface features of channels for subsurface methane transport and, therefore, constitute an important source of methane emission from natural environments. How microbial processes regulate methane emissions in terrestrial mud volcanoes has yet to be fully addressed. This study demonstrated the geochemical characteristics and microbial communities of four mud volcano and seep sites in two geological settings of Sicily, Italy.

Materials And Methods: A total of 661 patients with normal preoperative coagulation function who underwent hepatectomy between January 2015 and December 2021 at the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University were divided into two groups: the postoperative abnormal coagulation group (PAC group, n = 362) and the normal coagulation group (non-PAC group, n = 299). Automatic vertebral body contour extraction (AVBCE) from heterogeneous spinal MRI is indispensable for the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of spinal diseases. However, AVBCE is challenging due to data heterogeneity, image characteristics complexity, and vertebral body morphology variations, which may cause morphology errors in semantic segmentation. Deep active contour-based (deep ACM-based) methods provide a promising complement for tackling morphology errors by directly parameterizing the contour coordinates.
