Immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) has changed the situation of anti-tumor therapy. Several phase I/II clinical trials explored ICI-based combinations in microsatellite stable (MSS) metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) with mixed outcomes. However, real-world data regarding ICI-based combinations in this population is lacking.

Pediatric acquired severe aplastic anemia (SAA), a prevalent non-malignant hematological disorder, presents significant therapeutic challenges and carries considerable risks. Despite substantial progress in immunosuppressive therapy (IST) and allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) in recent years, the protracted treatment duration, substantial costs, and significant disparities in long-term survival outcomes among patients remain problematic. Identifying predictors of treatment response before therapy initiation is crucial for optimal clinical decision-making and complication prevention.

Pre-lithiation, which is capable of supplying additional active lithium sources to lithium-ion batteries, has been widely accepted as one of the most promising approaches for addressing the issue of active lithium loss during the entire process of initial charging and subsequent cycling. In comparison with anode pre-lithiation, cathode pre-lithiation exhibits a facile operating procedure and good compatibility with current lithium-ion battery production processes. However, cathode pre-lithiation additives suffer from high decomposition voltage and low decomposition efficiency.

Mn-based layered oxide cathodes for sodium-ion batteries with anionic redox reactions hold great potential for energy storage applications due to their ultra-high capacity and cost effectiveness. However, achieving high capacity requires overcoming challenges such as oxygen-redox failure, sluggish kinetics, and structural degradation. Herein, we employ an innovative crystal modulation strategy, using Mn-based NaLiMnO as a representative cathode material, which shows that the highly exposed {010} active facets enable an enhanced rate capability (119.

Background: Understanding the trends of the prevalence and incidence rate of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is vital for improving the control and prevention of COPD. We aimed to examine the trends in the prevalence and incidence rate of COPD among adults aged 50 years or older in the United States during 2000-2020.
Methods: Utilizing data from the Health and Retirement Study, we analyzed COPD prevalence across survey waves and calculated COPD incidence rates between consecutive interview waves, stratified by gender and race.

NSUN5, a key member of the M5C methylation family, plays a significant role in fundamental biological processes like cell proliferation and differentiation. However, its specific function and mechanisms in gastric cancer remain insufficiently understood. Initially, we examined NSUN5's differential expression in gastric cancer versus normal tissues, along with survival trends, associated signaling pathways, and immune infiltration using the TCGA database.

This study reports the synthesis and photophysical analysis of three isomeric compounds, namely 3Fmo, 3Fmm, and 3Fmp, which were engineered using carbazole as the electron donor, phthalimide as the electron acceptor, and a benzene ring as the bridging moiety. Among these, 3Fmm was distinguished by its ability to exhibit immediate room-temperature white phosphorescence following the cessation of UV illumination, whereas 3Fmo and 3Fmp demonstrated TADF properties. Crystallographic analysis revealed unique intermolecular π-π stacking interactions within 3Fmm, absent in the other two isomers.

Here, a novel paired electrolysis system is constructed, where fluorine-doped tin oxide glass serves as the anode for the water oxidation reaction to produce hydrogen peroxide (HO), and cobalt phthalocyanine (CoPc)/carbon nanotube (CNT) loaded carbon paper as the cathode for CO reduction to generate CO. This system demonstrates a high overall energy efficiency of 34%, where a faradaic efficiency exceeding 90% for CO reduction and 60% for water oxidation to HO have been achieved, demonstrating significant energy savings of nearly 40% compared to the respective half-reaction systems.

For centuries, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been a prominent treatment method in China, incorporating acupuncture, herbal remedies, massage, and dietary therapy to promote holistic health and healing. TCM has played a major role in drug discovery, with over 60% of small-molecule drugs approved by the FDA from 1981 to 2019 being derived from natural products. However, TCM modernization faces challenges such as data standardization and the complexity of TCM formulations.

However, previously reported dearomative prenylations were limited to batch reactions at the milligram scale, requiring multistep reactions and complex post-processing to obtain the desired natural products. The more efficient synthesis of alkaloids remains challenging, as does the recovery of expensive catalysts.

Eld's deer (McClelland, 1842) is an ungulate that lives in tropical lowland forests in several countries of Indochina and Hainan Island of China. Its remaining population is small and scattered, and the species is listed as an Endangered species on the IUCN Red List. The debate over the taxonomic status of the Hainan population has persisted for over a century-as an island-endemic subspecies , or an insular population of the subspecies , would have significant conservation implications.

Electrocatalysts are the key components of electrochemical energy storage and conversion devices. High performance electrocatalysts can effectively reduce the energy barrier of the chemical reactions, thereby improving the conversion efficiency of energy devices. The electrocatalytic reaction mainly experiences adsorption and desorption of molecules (reactants, intermediates and products) on a catalyst surface, accompanied by charge transfer processes.

A novel Ir-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation protocol for the synthesis of chiral tetrahydroquinoxaline (THQ) derivatives has been developed. By simply adjusting the reaction solvent, both enantiomers of mono-substituted chiral THQs could be selectively obtained in high yields with excellent enantioselectivities (toluene/dioxane: up to 93% yield and 98% ee (); EtOH: up to 83% yield and 93% ee ()). For 2,3-disubstituted chiral THQs, the -hydrogenation products were obtained with up to 95% yield, 20 : 1 dr, and 94% ee.

Hearing impairment is a global health problem that affects social communications and the economy. The damage and loss of cochlear hair cells and spiral ganglion neurons (SGNs) as well as the degeneration of neurites of SGNs are the core causes of sensorineural hearing loss. Biotechnologies and biomedical engineering technologies provide new hope for the treatment of auditory diseases, which utilizes biological strategies or tissue engineering methods to achieve drug delivery and the regeneration of cells, tissues, and even organs.

Prodrug-based self-assembled nanoparticles (PSNs) with tailored responses to tumor microenvironments show a significant promise for chemodynamic therapy (CDT) by generating highly toxic reactive oxygen species (ROS). However, the insufficient level of intracellular ROS and the limited drug accumulation remain major challenges for further clinical transformation. In this study, the PSNs for the delivery of artesunate (ARS) are demonstrated by designing the pH-responsive ARS-4-hydroxybenzoyl hydrazide (HBZ)-5-amino levulinic acid (ALA) nanoparticles (AHA NPs) with self-supplied ROS for excellent chemotherapy and CDT.

The capsular polysaccharide (CPS) is a major virulence factor of the pathogenic and a promising target for vaccine development. However, the synthesis of the 1,2--2-amino-2-deoxyglycoside core of CPS remains challenging to date. Here we develop a highly α-selective ZnI-mediated 1,2- 2-azido-2-deoxy chemical glycosylation strategy using 2-azido-2-deoxy glucosyl donors equipped with various 4,6--tethered groups.
