Angiopoietin 2 (ANGPT2) is a promising prognostic marker and therapeutic target in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, assessing ANGPT2 expression and prognosis from histopathological images with naked eye is challenging. In this study, machine learning was employed to develop a pathomics model that analyzed histopathological images to predict ANGPT2 status.

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries are highly praised for their cost-effectiveness, environmental friendliness, and high safety, making them an ideal choice for next-generation energy storage systems. However, the practical application of Zn metal anodes is constrained by well-known challenges such as dendrite growth and significant interfacial side reactions. This study introduces a trace amount of taurine (TAU) as a leveling additive into the electrolyte to optimize the microstructure of the electrolyte and the anode interface chemistry.

This multicenter, single-arm, phase II clinical trial (NCT04034589) evaluated the efficacy and safety of pyrotinib combined with fulvestrant in patients with HR-positive/HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer who had experienced trastuzumab treatment failure. A total of 46 patients were enrolled, receiving pyrotinib orally once daily and fulvestrant intramuscularly on days 1 and 15 of cycle 1, followed by monthly doses on day 1. The primary endpoint was progression-free survival (PFS), while secondary endpoints included overall survival (OS), objective response rate (ORR), disease control rate (DCR), and safety.

Background: We evaluated the effects of a national school-based lifestyle intervention program against childhood obesity on improving cardiovascular health (CVH), assessed using the recently introduced Life's Essential 8 metric framework.
Methods And Results: Our post hoc analysis of the national school-based lifestyle intervention targeting diet and physical activity included 94 schools with eligible students aged 7 to 17 years (intervention group n=30 629; control group n=26 581). We assessed CVH metrics by individual scores for 4 health behaviors (diet, physical activity, nicotine exposure, and body mass index) and 3 health factors (blood lipids, glucose, and pressure).

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a prevalent endocrine and metabolic disorder affecting women of reproductive age. We provide an overview of how mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) copy number variation (CNVs) and gene mutations mediate PCOS, including current research findings and clinical trial data to underscore a theoretical basis for further exploring its pathogenesis and developing targeted therapy. Characterized by hyperandrogenism, oligo-ovulation or anovulation, and polycystic ovarian morphology, PCOS is often accompanied by insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, and chronic inflammation, which reduce fertility throughout the reproductive lifespan.

The spectroscopic single-molecule fluorescence (sSMF) technique overcomes the limitations of conventional SMF by distinguishing individual fluorophores based on their emission spectra. This enables precise measurement and direct comparison of photophysical properties among distinct molecules under identical conditions, without requiring separation of molecules.

Based on the target of carbon neutrality, it is very important to explore highly active and durable electrocatalysts for both the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Herein, a series of NiFe-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with the doping of various rare-earth elements (Ce, Y, and La) were grown on nickel foam by a facile solvothermal process. The representative CeNiFe-MOF showed amazing OER performance with ultralow overpotentials of 224 and 277 mV at 500 mA cm in 1.

Metal-ligand cooperation (MLC) is an essential strategy in transition metal catalysis. Traditional NH-based and OH-based MLC catalysts, as well as the later developed (de)aromatization strategy, have been widely applied in atom-economic borrowing hydrogen/hydrogen auto-transfer (BH/HA) reactions. However, these conventional MLC approaches are challenging for low-coordination and low-activity coinage metal complexes, arising from the instability during (de)protonation on the coordination atom, the constraint in linear coordination, and possible poisoning due to extra functional sites.

Pure organic thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) materials hold great promise for efficient organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), yet developing high-performance blue TADF materials that integrate short delayed lifetime with aggregation-induced emission (AIE) properties remains a significant challenge. In this study, we developed three highly-efficient blue TADF emitters (32clCBP, 32clCXT and 32PclCXT) featuring AIE character by integrating rigid π-extended donors with different acceptors. Notably, the doped 32PclCXT film achieved an exceptionally high photoluminescence quantum efficiency of up to 99% and a short delayed lifetime of 1.

Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) primarily engage with mRNA, DNA, proteins, and microRNAs (miRNAs), thereby regulating gene expression; however, its specific role in diabetic erectile dysfunction (DED) has not been studied. This study aims to investigate the effects and mechanisms of in DED. The differential target gene was identified in the penile tissues of rats with DED through bioinformatics analyses.

Biomineralization of a porous metal-organic framework (MOF) shell onto biomacromolecule templates is a burgeoning strategy to construct robust biocatalysts. However, it strongly relies on the interfacial interaction between MOF precursors and enzyme surface, significantly limiting the generalization of this nanotechnology. Herein, we identify polymers that are well-suited for deposition onto target biomacromolecules supramolecular interactions and introduce a polymer deposition-mediated surface-charge reformation strategy to facilitate the biomineralization of porous MOFs, including ZIF-8, ZIF-90, and ZIF-zni onto enzymes.

By leveraging the nanomicellar properties of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), a hierarchical δ-MnO with 2D/3D structure was directionally grown on a modified carbon cloth (CC) collector for realizing high-mass-loading AZIBs. Experimental results reveal the synergistic effects of micro/nano hierarchically structured MnO-CC heterointerfaces in accelerating the electron migration and transfer rate of Zn/H.

Phosphaenones, like their carbon analogue enones (C[double bond, length as m-dash]C-C[double bond, length as m-dash]O), are promising building blocks for synthetic chemistry and materials science. However, in contrast to the α- and β-phosphaenones, structurally and spectroscopically well-defined diphosphaenones (DPEs) are rare. In this study, we disclose the isolation and spectroscopic characterization of N-heterocyclic vinyl (NHV) substituted acyclic DPEs 3a,b [NHV-P[double bond, length as m-dash]P-C(O)-NHV].

In patients with advanced intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC), clinical outcomes remain unsatisfactory despite the recommended first-line treatment of gemcitabine with cisplatin and durvalumab (GCD). We recently reported that hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) in combination with lenvatinib and durvalumab (HLD) exhibited promising antitumor activity and manageable adverse events in patients with unresectable ICC. Here, we aimed to compare HLD with GCD in patients with advanced ICC.
