Background And Purpose: Previous studies have shown that women with GDM can benefit from following dietary recommendations, which are based on food exchange serving (FES) and glycemic load (GL), but compliance with dietary recommendations in women with GDM is not ideal. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to design a dietary intervention program based on behavior change wheel (BCW) to affect GDM women's compliance with FES based on GL, and to compare the effects of this dietary intervention program versus general dietary management on compliance with dietary recommendations, improving maternal glucose metabolism, and reducing adverse pregnancy outcomes in women with GDM.

Methods: This paper is a methodological description of a two-arm randomized controlled trial.

Objective: Bismuth-containing quadruple therapy for Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) eradication has a relatively high rate of side effects and high cost, thus the option of a high-dose dual therapy with a high eradication rate and fewer adverse events is a consideration. However, studies of dual therapy are still scarce and are mostly single-center studies with limited generalizability.

Healthcare workers (HCWs) are considered both a high-risk population regarding infections and effective vaccine recommenders whose willingness to be vaccinated is the key to herd immunity. However, the vaccination status, acceptance, and knowledge of the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccine among HCWs remain unknown. Therefore, we conducted an online survey regarding the above among HCWs in China after the vaccine was made available.

For wide applications of the gene in cellular/molecular biology, small animal investigations, and clinical assessments, the improvement of noninvasive imaging approaches to precisely assay gene expression has garnered much attention. In this study, we investigate a novel molecular platform in which alizarin 2--β--galactopyranoside acts as a gene/β-gal responsive H-MRI probe to induce significant H-MRI contrast changes in relaxation times and as a concerted effect for the discovery of β-gal activity with the exposure of Fe. We also demonstrate the capability of this strategy for detecting β-gal activity with -transfected human MCF7 breast and PC3 prostate cancer cells by reaction-enhanced H-MRI and relaxation mapping.

Cumulative studies have identified the effectiveness of cardiac shock wave therapy (CSWT) in treating heart failure after acute myocardial infarction (AMI), but little have been discussed with regard to the beneficial effects of CSWT on anti-fibrosis along with the underlying mechanism. In this study, we investigated whether CSWT could reduce post-AMI fibrosis and further explored the molecular mechanism. Rat heart failure (HF) models induced by ligating the left anterior descending coronary artery were established and validated by echocardiography.

Department of Pediatric Surgery, the Second Affiliated Hospital; Institute of Neurobiology, Environment and Genes Related to Diseases Key Laboratory of Chinese Ministry of Education, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China.

In our previous study, we showed that with increasing time in culture, the growth characteristics of enteric neural crest-derived cells (ENCCs) change, and that the proliferation, migration and neural differentiation potential of these cells in vitro notably diminish. However, there are no studies on the developmental differences in these characteristics between fetal and early-postnatal stages in vitro or in vivo. In this study, we isolated fetal (embryonic day 14.

Background: Cellular therapy based on mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) is a promising novel therapeutic strategy for the osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH), which is gradually becoming popular, particularly for early-stage ONFH. Nonetheless, the MSC-based therapy is challenging due to certain limitations, such as limited self-renewal capability of cells, availability of donor MSCs, and the costs involved in donor screening. As an alternative approach, MSCs derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), which may lead to further standardized-cell preparations.

Despite the considerable advances in treatment method development, the mortality rate related to colon cancer still ranks the fifth in all tumor-related diseases. Recently, there has been growing evidences supporting the existence of colon cancer stem cells (CSCs) might be one of the main causes for initiation, progression and recurrence of colon cancer. Curcumin has been shown to possess anticancer activities.

October 2020

Department of Stomatology, Department of Clinical Oncology, Hubei Key Laboratory of Embryonic Stem Cell Research, Taihe Hospital, Hubei University of Medicine, Shiyan 442000, China.

MiR-26 has been suggested to play a tumor-suppressive role in cancer development, which could be influenced by the mutate pri-miR-26ª-1. Molecular epidemiological studies have demonstrated some inconsistent associations between pri-miR-26ª-1 rs7372209 C>T polymorphism and cancer risk. We therefore performed this meta-analysis with multivariate statistic method to comprehensively evaluate the associations between rs7372209 C>T polymorphism and cancer risk.
