Purpose: To investigate the feasibility, safety and efficacy of high intensity focused ultrasound ablation (HIFU) as a preoperative treatment for challenging hysteroscopic myomectomies.
Materials And Methods: A total of 75 patients diagnosed with types 0-III of uterine fibroids were enrolled. Based on the Size, Topography, Extension of the base, Penetration and lateral Wall position (STEPW) classification scoring system, 25 cases with a score ≥ 5 points were treated with HIFU followed by hysteroscopic myomectomy (HIFU + HM group), whereas 50 cases with a score < 5 points were treated with hysteroscopic myomectomy (HM group).

The development of materials that effectively stop bleeding and prevent wound adhesion is essential in both military and medical fields. However, traditional hemostasis methods, such as cautery, tourniquets, and gauze, have limitations. In recent years, new nanomaterials have gained popularity in medical and health fields due to their unique microstructural advantages.

Introduction: Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is widely used during refractory cardiac or respiratory failure, and some case reports described ECMO utilization in critical airway interventional therapy.
Methods: Eligible reports about patients receiving airway interventional therapy under ECMO were retrieved from Web of Science, Embase, Medline, and Cochrane databases up to 1 August 2022.
Results: Forty-eight publications including 107 patients who underwent ECMO for critical airway problems met the inclusion criteria.

Objective: To compare the clinical efficacy of High intensity-focused ultrasound(HIFU) for different types of adenomyosis classified by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
Methods: A total of 227 patients with adenomyosis who underwent HIFU treatment in Suining Central Hospital from January 2014 to December 2019 were included. Based on the preoperative pelvic MRI examination and Kishi isometric classification method, the patients were divided into 4 types according to the location of lesions.

Histological subtype plays an important role in the different clinical characteristics and survival outcomes of patients with colorectal carcinoma (CRC). However, in previous studies, the influences of tumor locations and tumor stages have not been strictly controlled. This study focused on the assessment of the prognostic value of each histological subtype in different tumor locations and tumor stages of CRC.

Objective: To investigate the prevalence of pelvic adhesions in patients with uterine fibroids after high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) treatment, then analyze the influencing factors of pelvic adhesions.
Materials And Methods: From October 2010 to March 2020, a total of 2619 patients with uterine fibroids underwent either hysterectomy, myomectomy, or cesarean section in Suining Central Hospital of Sichuan province. Of the 2619 patients, 810 were excluded because of a documented history of either pelvic infections, endometriosis, prior abdominopelvic surgery, or gynecological malignancies; 1809 patients were enrolled and the data were retrospectively assessed for the prevalence and patterns of pelvic adhesions.

Background/aims: This experimental study aimed to evaluate the effect of low-concentration phosphoric acid on the surface structure of cortical allografts.
Methods: Allogenic cortical bones were obtained from femurs and tibias of New Zealand white rabbits. The bones were modified by treatment with various concentrations of phosphoric acid (10%, 20% or 30%) for 10, 30 or 60 minutes, then evaluated by the following methods: 3-(4,5-Dimethyl-2-thiazolyl)-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium bromide (MTT) and LIVE/DEAD assay, alkaline phosphatase (ALP) assay, biomechanical properties testing, contact angle detection, quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (Q-PCR), western blotting and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
