December 2024

Department of Thyroid Gland and Breast Surgery, Lishui People's Hospital, 6th Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University, 15 Dazhong Street, Liandu District, Lishui, Zhejiang 323000, China.

Background: Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress (ER stress) was an important event in the development of breast cancer. We aimed to predict prognosis based on ER stress related key genes.

Methods: Data of the RNA-seq and clinical information of breast cancer cases were downloaded from the TCGA database.

Integrin β2 regulates titanium particle‑induced inflammation in macrophages: aseptic loosening model.

Mol Med Rep

January 2025

Department of Orthopedic Surgery, The Second Affiliated Hospital, School of Medicine, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, Zhejiang 310000, P.R. China.

Aseptic loosening is a major complication of joint replacement surgery, characterized by periprosthetic osteolysis and chronic inflammation at the bone‑implant interface. Cells release chemokines, cytokines and other pro‑inflammatory substances that perpetuate inflammation reactions, while other particle‑stimulated macrophages promote osteoclastic bone resorption and impair bone formation. The present study investigated integrin and inflammatory cytokine expression patterns in RAW 264.

Most distal radius fractures are associated with distal ulnar fractures. However, there is still a lack of consensus on the incidence of different types of distal ulnar fractures among adults in China. Therefore, we analyzed the incidence of distal radial fractures with and without associated distal ulnar fractures among adults in a southern China county from 2010 to 2020.

Article Synopsis
  • This study evaluated the effectiveness of outside-in hip arthroscopy without traction for treating hip synovial osteochondromatosis in five patients aged 28-54 years.
  • Results showed significant improvements in pain (VAS score) and hip function (Harris hip score) after surgery, with patients experiencing relief from groin pain and better hip range of motion.
  • Minimal complications were noted, and only one patient had a recurrence of the condition without significant symptoms, indicating that this method is a safe and effective treatment option.

Cellular senescence (CS) is closely related to tumor progression. However, the studies about CS genes across human cancers have not explored the relationship between cancer senescence signature and telomere length. Additionally, single-cell analyses have not revealed the evolutionary trends of malignant cells and immune cells at the CS level.

Objective: This study aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of laparoscopic common bile duct exploration (LCBDE) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) combined with laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) to determine which one provides a better outcome for patients with gallbladder and common bile duct stones.

Materials And Methods: An electronic literature search was undertaken using Embase, Medline, PubMed, and Cochrane Library databases up to April 2022. For quality assessment of included studies, randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were assessed by utilizing the Jadad scale.

Introduction: Nonspecific low back pain (NSLBP) is one of the most common symptoms which can happen all ages and it accounts for the majority of low back pain (LBP). Current clinical studies have shown that rest, physical therapy, acupuncture (including small needle scalpel) and non-steroidal antiinflammatory drugs are effective treatments for NSLBP. However, the safety of small needle scalpel for treatment of NSLBP was reported rarely.

Luteolin inhibits tumorigenesis of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), but its mechanism still needs to be clarified. We hereby explored the effects of luteolin in vascular endothelial cells of NSCLC (NSCLC-VECs). After extraction and identification of NSCLC-VECs, cells were treated with luteolin and transfected.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a common degenerative disease in middle-aged and elderly people. Our previous study has proved that microRNA-7 (miR-7) exacerbated the OA process. This study was aimed to explore the downstream genes and mechanism regulated by miR-7 to affect OA.

Department of Orthopedics Surgery, The Second Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University School of Medicine, Hangzhou, China; Orthopedics Research Institute of Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China; Key Laboratory of Motor System Disease Research and Precision Therapy of ZheJiang Province, Hangzhou, China. Electronic address:

The objective of this study is to investigate the role of IL-38 in osteoarthritis (OA). IL-38 levels in serum and synovial fluid (SF) of patients with OA were examined to identify the correlation between IL-38 expression and OA activity and to determine its anti-inflammatory effects in IL-1β-induced chondrocytes. A total of 75 patients with OA who underwent joint replacement surgery and 25 age- and sex-matched healthy volunteers were recruited.

Objective: To determine the effects of an improved method of peri-pin membrane immobilization in tibial Gustilo type III fracture treated with vacuum sealant drainage (VSD) combined with an external fixator.

Method: A biliary T tube of suitable size and type was cut into a certain long arm and cross arm which wrapping around a pin to improving traditional peri-pin VSD method. Eighty-six cases of Gustilo type III tibial fracture admitted from January 2016 to December 2019 were prospectively treated, of which 43 cases were treated using a traditional method of VSD (Traditional group) and 43 cases in which VSD treatment was enhanced (Improved group).

Factors Associated With Prolonged Viral Shedding in Patients With Avian Influenza A(H7N9) Virus Infection.

J Infect Dis

May 2018

Department of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Center for Respiratory Diseases, China-Japan Friendship Hospital, National Clinical Research Center for Respiratory Diseases, Beijing.

Background: Data are limited on the impact of neuraminidase inhibitor (NAI) treatment on avian influenza A(H7N9) virus RNA shedding.

Methods: In this multicenter, retrospective study, data were collected from adults hospitalized with A(H7N9) infection during 2013-2017 in China. We compared clinical features and A(H7N9) shedding among patients with different NAI doses and combination therapies and evaluated factors associated with A(H7N9) shedding, using Cox proportional hazards regression.
