Inflammatory and nutritional markers predict the risk of post-operative delirium in elderly patients following total hip arthroplasty.

Objectives: This study intended to explore whether albumin-associated inflammatory and nutritional markers could predict post-operative delirium (POD) in older patients after total hip arthroplasty (THA). In addition, we established a nomogram model for POD prediction.

Methods: Totally, 254 elderly cases who received THA were included.

Malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) is a malignant tumor originating from the pleura, and its incidence has been increasing in recent years. Due to the insidious onset and strong local invasiveness of MPM, most patients are diagnosed in the late stage and early screening and treatment for high-risk populations are crucial. The treatment of MPM mainly includes surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy.

Aim: Deficit schizophrenia (DS), defined by primary and enduring negative symptoms, has been proposed as a promising homogeneous subtype of schizophrenia. It has been demonstrated that unimodal neuroimaging characteristics of DS were different from non-deficit schizophrenia (NDS), however, whether multimodal-based neuroimaging features could identify deficit syndrome remains to be determined.

Methods: Functional and structural multimodal magnetic resonance imaging of DS, NDS and healthy controls were scanned.

Effect of rs3824662 gene polymorphism in Han Chinese children with pre-B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia with 10 years follow-up.

Purpose: To evaluate the influence of rs3824662 on pre-B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (pre-B-cell ALL) susceptibility and long-term prognosis in Han Chinese children with pre-B-cell ALL treated with the CCLG-2008 protocol at the Children's Hospital of Soochow University.

Methods: A total of 256 patients with childhood pre-B-cell ALL under the CCLG-2008 protocol were enrolled in this study, and 174 healthy children were used as case controls. rs3824662 genotyping was performed using a polymerase chain reaction, followed by Sanger sequencing.

[Research advances on the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers with autologous platelet-rich fibrin].

Diabetic foot is one of the serious complications of diabetic patients, which makes the society and public health bear a huge economic burden. In recent years, more and more studies at home and abroad have been conducted on the treatment of chronic wounds with autologous platelet-rich fibrin, and the therapeutic concepts and methods have been updated constantly. In this paper, we reviewed the general situation of autologous platelet-rich fibrin, the mechanism of autologous platelet-rich fibrin in promoting the healing of diabetic foot ulcers and the new progress in its application, so as to provide a new strategy for the repair of diabetic foot ulcers.

Articular cartilage has a limited capacity to self-heal once damaged. Tissue-specific stem cells are a solution for cartilage regeneration; however, expansion resulting in cell senescence remains a challenge as a large quantity of high-quality tissue-specific stem cells are needed for cartilage regeneration. Our previous report demonstrated that decellularized extracellular matrix (dECM) deposited by human synovium-derived stem cells (SDSCs), adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs), urine-derived stem cells (UDSCs), or dermal fibroblasts (DFs) provided an solution to rejuvenate human SDSCs in proliferation and chondrogenic potential, particularly for dECM deposited by UDSCs.

Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) possesses tyrosine kinase activity and participates in cell growth, differentiation and migration, and survival. Its alterations, mainly including mutations, amplifications, and overexpression are associated with poor prognosis and are one of the major drivers in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Several clinical trials had been investigating on the treatments of HER2-altered NSCLC, including conventional chemotherapy, programmed death 1 (PD-1) inhibitors, tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), however, the results were either disappointing or encouraging, but inconsistent.

miR-137 represses migration and cell motility by targeting COX-2 in non-small cell lung cancer.

Background: Lung cancer is a common malignant tumor, with, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounting for about 80-85% of cases. This study investigated the expression of miR-137 in NSCLC tissues and cells and its effects on the migration and invasion of NSCLC cells and related mechanisms.

Methods: We collected the neoplastic and paracancerous tissues of NSCLC patients, detected the expression of miR-137 in NSCLC tissues and cell lines by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR), and analyzed the correlation between miR-137 expression and the clinicopathological features and survival of NSCLC.

Background: Constipation seriously affects people's life quality, and dietary adjustment has been one of the effective methods. Overall dietary quality has been reported to be associated with some diseases, while its association with constipation has not been reported. This study aims to explore the association between overall dietary quality and constipation.

Chinese expert consensus on the multidisciplinary management of pneumonitis associated with immune checkpoint inhibitor.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have successfully treated a number of different types of cancer, which is of great significance for cancer treatment. With the widespread use of ICIs in clinical practice, the increasing checkpoint inhibitor pneumonia (CIP) will be a challenge to clinicians. To guide the diagnosis and treatment of CIP, we conducted in-depth discussions based on the latest evidence, forming a consensus among Chinese experts on the multidisciplinary management of CIP.

CD36 is emerging as a potential strategy for cancer treatment because of its function of regulating fatty acid intake. The purpose of this study was to clarify the molecular mechanism of CD36 in the progression of HCC. TCGA database was used to analyze the relationship of CD36 with HCC.

Bioinformatics analysis identification of and as key genes in postmenopausal osteoporosis.

Postmenopausal osteoporosis (PMO) is an aging-associated disease that manifests as degradation of bone tissue microstructure leading to decreased bone mass and increased bone fragility. Differentiation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells into osteoclasts is an important process in the development of PMO and identification of key genes that drive differentiation is essential to reveal the mechanism of PMO. The present study combined bioinformatics analysis of a Gene Expression Omnibus dataset of PMO and drug (bisphosphonate) target prediction using the STITCH database to identify hub genes in patients with PMO.

Expert consensus on the diagnosis and treatment of NTRK gene fusion solid tumors in China.

Gene fusions can drive tumor development for multiple types of cancer. Currently, many drugs targeting gene fusions are being approved for clinical application. At present, tyrosine receptor kinase (TRK) inhibitors targeting neurotrophic tyrosine receptor kinase (NTRK) gene fusions are among the first "tumor agnostic" drugs approved for pan-cancer use.

The data of patients with sepsis admitted to the department of critical care medicine of Jiangsu Subei People's Hospital Affiliated to Yangzhou University and the department of critical care medicine of Beijing Electric Power Hospital of State Grid Corporation of China from June 2018 to June 2021 were enrolled.
