Background: High rates of burnout are observed among health care professionals worldwide, which could have negative consequences on personal and organizational levels. We aimed to evaluate the burnout prevalence and factors associated with burnout among oncologists in Poland.
Materials And Methods: An online survey was conducted using the validated Maslach Burnout Inventory-Human Services Survey (MBI-HSS) and additional work/lifestyle questions.

Brachytherapy Department, Maria Skłodowska-Curie National Research Institute of Oncology Gliwice Branch, Wybrzeże Armii Krajowej 15, 44-102 Gliwice, Poland.
Background And Purpose: We conducted a multicentre real-world study to assess the outcomes of radical salvage re-irradiation for non-melanoma skin cancer (nMSC) recurrences following definitive or postoperative radiotherapy.
Materials And Methods: Data on patients treated between 2006 and 2022 with re-irradiation for nMSCs were retrospectively collected from five high-volume brachytherapy centers. The primary endpoint was local control (LC).

Background: Abiraterone acetate (ABI) and Enzalutamide (ENZA) are second-generation hormone drugs that show breakthrough activity in post-chemotherapy, metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). The leading oncological and urological guidelines indicate both drugs with the same strong recommendation. There is a lack of randomized trials which compare the efficacy of ABI and ENZA.

Laboratory of Centre for Preclinical Research, Department of Experimental and Clinical Physiology, Medical University of Warsaw, 02-097 Warsaw, Poland.
Recently developed COVID-19 vaccines significantly reduce the risk of severe coronavirus disease, which is essential in the particularly vulnerable cancer patient population. There is a growing anti-vaccine concern that may affect the success of the fight against the SARS-CoV2 pandemic. To evaluate opinions and attitudes toward vaccination, we conducted an anonymous online survey among Polish patients diagnosed with cancer.

Department of Radiotherapy, Maria Skłodowska-Curie Memorial Cancer Center and Institute of Oncology, Warsaw, Poland.
Purpose: The treatment planning (TP) in high-dose-rate (HDR) endobronchial brachytherapy (EB) can be based on various forms of imaging. In the case of lung cancer, one-dimensional or two-dimensional imaging is standard. The dose coverage of the target (planning target volume - PTV) and organs at risk (OAR) is unknown, because the doses are calculated on the basis of the dose points.

Introduction: Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of outflow tract ventricular arrhythmia (VA) that originates from the aortic cusps can be challenging. Data on long‑ term efficacy and safety as well as optimal technique after aortic cusp ablation have not previously been reported.
Objectives: This aim of the study was to determine the short- and long‑ term outcomes after RFA of aortic cusp VA, and to evaluate aortic valve injuries according to echocardiographic screening.
Clin Transl Oncol
May 2016
Radiotherapy Department, Independent Public Health Care Facility of the Ministry of the Interior and Warmian & Mazurian Oncology Centre, Olsztyn, Poland.
Purpose: To identify the main difficulties in postoperative clinical target volume (CTV) delineation in gastric cancer (GC).
Methods: Before and after a training course, 20 radiation oncology residents were asked to delineate the CTV for the postoperative GC case on four computed tomography scans: dome of the diaphragm, anterior abdominal wall, duodenal stump and porta hepatis level, and to determine the lower CTV border. CTV volume was reconstructed from requested planar contours.

Brachytherapy Department, Brzozów Hospital, Subcarpathian Cancer Center, Brzozów, Poland.
Purpose: Endobronchial brachytherapy (EB) is one way of treatment of patients with advanced lung cancer. Technological progress and the introduction of computed tomography for use in 3D planning allows one to define the area being treated very precisely, which gives an opportunity to extend survival, even in groups of patients receiving palliative care.
Material And Methods: In 2011, in the Brachytherapy Department of the Subcarpathian Oncological Center, a group of 12 consecutive patients with advanced cancer of the bronchus underwent palliative EB.
